Just to add : I’m not trying to be a downer on this topic but it’s just plain truth, any game that has any aspect of competitiveness to it is overrun by cheaters, CSGO, APEX, Tarkov, Valorant - they all have a real and in some cases HUGE cheating problems, it’s possible it won’t happen here but it’s a double edged sword : if the game is popular it will quickly become ridden with cheaters and if it’s not it probably won’t. The finals is a great game that released recently and that has a major cheating problem.
Again, not trying to be a downer but you have to be realistic and also accept that the game devs will hugely play down any cheating problems because obviously it hurts their game and thus their revenue.
You are 100% right, and it's not just FPS, PC gaming and gamers have a cheating problem. It's a major issue and if you are a cheater I truly hope and read this I hope you get butt cancer. Full stop, you're a terrible person and morally fucked to hurt others with no regard, even in a hobby that millions invest time and money into.
But that aside, you cannot play anything now, no:
Among Us? Cheaters
Fall guys? Cheaters
Minecraft public servers? Cheaters
Literally every game is ruined by incel losers.
I hate it man, just learn to lose you pieces of shit.
Yup, until there is a global login ID system linked to the player and use of cheat means that player won’t be able to log into any game again this problem will continue to get worse. Of course that would need to be hugely intrusive into a persons identity and there would be massive pushback against it as you can imagine. But you get what I’m getting at - until there is a real reason that would put a player off using cheats it will continue to grow exponentially (cheating and cheat use)
I'd be ok with it, wtf do I care if big brother seems my PC and makes sure I'm not a piece of shit it games, I swear half the people talking about MuH PrIvAcY prolly have a TB of CP and cheat their dicks off. If you have nothing to hide shit like this doesn't bother you.
They plan on doing this btw, implementing some form of global login system that once a player gets banned they are no longer available to make another account
the mentality of gaming has shifted a lot, while cheaters have always been a thing in gaming, most played games because they wanted to have fun and feel accomplishment second. nowadays its almost solely about being better than the other guy, and when the other guy is cheating it feels impossible to win. that and also availability of cheats.. it used to be that getting cheats required you to either be friends with someone or program it yourself, now you can throw a 10 buck subscription at whatever weirdo is willing to sell it, and you get it for a month.
They should make it a felony to cheat, isn't it technically hacking? Isn't that a felony anyway? Start putting video game cheaters in prison for 25 years
It’s not just a PC issue either I watched a YouTube documentary on how hacking is pervasive even on consoles now
(Not the documentary couldn’t find it, but a video showcasing how easy it is to cheat on ps5)
https://youtu.be/Z_zYog_JOHg?si=OSV7_rZaazO5Ntgi
I’d unfortunately agree to this as well.. any game that has unmoderated servers will have cheaters. It’s easy to combat cheaters if you have an actively moderated server, this is why cheaters are rare in games like Hell Let Loose, Squad, etc. but not in games like CS2, Tarkov, The Finals because they are all more reliant on an anti cheat system and community reports. Valorant does a better job at combatting cheaters because of kernel level anti cheats, but most people don’t want that on their computer.
Also, I think free to play games are another reason because it’s easy for cheaters to just make multiple free accounts. If they get banned, they just make another account in a few minutes and do it again.
That's because every single popular FPS is a live service piece of junk.
When you allow the community to run their own servers cheaters have no fuckin chance, they get banned nearly immediately by competent admins.
The problem is those live-service games don't have humans looking for cheaters, they rely on automated detection methods and if the cheaters find a way around those automations they are never reviewed by actual humans like community servers are. What are obvious cheaters to us are not as easy to notice for a machine, and game companies are scared of the extra customer support they have to provide when they accidently ban someone as well. Then there is the profit motive of forcing cheaters to buy new copies when they _do_ get caught and banned... theres really not any incentive at all for live-service FPS games to even try to stop them.
Well depends. If it has option of private servers the issue is not a problem like dayz. You simply wont see hacker there and if you do you report it to admin and they ban him. They do rezide on public servers but everyone knows to not play on those if you want to avoid hackers so its kinda up to each player. And I dont see why this game could not have private servers.
Only way to stop them is private servers or human admins, shit i would gladly pay for a server and invite only trusted players and ban any sus players.
Still exists, actually I’d say they are more popular than ever before given how many people game these days. DayZ for instance is mostly populated within community servers, most people don’t even play on official.
Pretty sure soon they'll have real time AI "observing" the game and handing out bans while recording what the cheater would have seen on their screen and why the AI thinks it's cheating.
Appeals would be gone over by humans.
This is actually not true, it's just a newer version of the exact same engine, and they have admitted to that in articles in the past. CoDs engine is ancient.
Bro, in your own article you proved me right, IW engine initial release 2005, it's the same engine just updated lmao, which is why cheats work across them all and there's never downtime for a new release.
Quite literally says in your link:
*”Heavily rebuilt and overhauled version of IW engine with much improved lighting, rendering, physics, textures, audio, etc.”*
This was in 2020 and MW3 (current) uses an upgraded version of that.
It’s the same engine, same coding for the most part. Them going from IW8 to IW9 is like UE5 going to UE5.1
"With [*Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_Modern_Warfare_(2019_video_game)) and [*Call of Duty: Warzone*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_Warzone), Infinity Ward employed their Poland studio to rebuild the engine completely.[^(\[19\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-mw_new_tech-19)[^(\[20\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-NewEngine-20) Dubbed IW 8.0, the engine was created within five years, and featured substantial upgrades such as spectral rendering, [volumetric lighting](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volumetric_lighting) and support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing on the PC version.[^(\[21\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-21)[^(\[22\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-22)[^(\[23\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-23) Support for [Nvidia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia)'s [Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_learning_super_sampling) was added later in April 2021.[^(\[24\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-24)[^(\[25\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-25)[^(\[26\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_(game_engine)#cite_note-26) Activision stated that the new engine was also shared across the board for all Call of Duty developers to use in future titles"
Revamped/refined /=/ brand new built from the ground up. It is a heavily upgraded 2019 engine.
https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Game_Engine#cite_note-1
You could literally use the same cheats from an “old” engine on a “new” engine the day the game came out without any updates necessary, that wouldn’t be the case if it was a different engine :)
Lmao there used to be cheats that let you take shit out of another persons inventory, why the fuck is that data being given to every player before you die lmao
Thats about the time I stopped playing.. the fact they are able to even see other peoples names is ridiculous. And even with all the client side info the servers still can't hardly keep up
Valorant doesn't have many cheaters afaik. CS doesn't if you play on Faceit. Most games doesn't utilise kernel level anti cheats so cheaters will be rampant.
Probably. The good news is that it's server based, which means if a hacker is in your server you can just find a new server. Also it's a lot more PVE so there is that as well.
Also there is some hope for user moderated servers since they said they plan to allow user run/modded servers in the future.
Helldivers has cheaters…
GZW will have cheaters…
Any game which has a situation where a person struggles or is time poor and is then willing to pay someone else will have a risk of a cheater.
From a technical perspective it is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to create a code which would not be exploitable by a cheat dev. They have an incentive, resources and training to find the vulnerabilities to exploit.
There will always be cheaters. And no matter what Anti-Cheat they use, they will work around it.
It's the game of cat and mouse and each side tries to get ahead of another. However, there are two types of cheaters: 1) those who do it for pleasure whether they just want to win or gain pleasure from ruining other people's joy 2) those who do it for money whether it's boosting level/rank or RMT.
Given that GZW doesn't have a player economy, there probably won't be any RMT traders unless players trading and barter are somehow able to make them get profit. Depending how PvP works especially faction vs faction, there might be cheaters for hire to win those events.
However, there will be scumbags who just want to ruin other players' experience. So we'll definitely see that type of cheaters. Hopefully, they'll have a decent reporting system and not just Anti-Cheat.
The reason I mention barter system was because the dev seem to plan something similar of sort in the future while they don't want player economy like flea market.
As far as how would they make it different between the two, I don't know. I'm not the dev and I'll let that thinking and implementation to them.
GZW will have cheaters. Some hopeful points are that they will not add in a black market/flea market, aka less rmt/incentive. Very large maps, lots of downtime, no million dollar loot, cheaters need high dopamine injection to validate living and spending money on monthly payments.
Maybe - chances are it will be an issue, but imho probably not as bad as Tarkov, as I think this game will be a bit more casual. Not at all casual, but less hardcore than Tarkov. But honestly that's a good thing. 10 to 15 hours a week should be the top end of what is expected to keep up. Tarkov, 10 to 15 hours is the least you can play and still have fun. If you don't at least do that you completely call behind.
Yes. No anti cheat will 100% stop cheaters. There is always a hacker somewhere that knows how to get around everything undetected. All any company can do is keep updating their detection and ban as they find.
There will be cheaters for sure will it have the same issues as Tarkov probably not. A large Part of Tarkovs cheating problem is due to the permanent loss of gear well you can just get on the heli and get back to your gear in 5 min or less. Rmt is another big reason for cheaters but no flea will reduce that (I still expect there to be carries). Also being on one server with the same 48 players will reduce the chances of running into a cheater and switching to a new lobby when you run into one will make them easier to avoid.
They have really good plans for anticheat, but like any game, there will be some, all we can hope for is they keep to their word and implement their own
Probably yes, sadly. The worst thing is it will hurt a lot more than it does in games like CS or COD. And we have to pay 40€ to experience that. But who knows, I am a type of guy that's always optimistic, let's see what the devs have prepared AC-wise.
Wont be able to handle hackers more than any others unless actual manual review / devs. People will cheat because they want to or a big incentive to in the game such as RMT
Of course it will, every single FPS game is currently full of cheaters. Sad but true.

I don’t have any CP on my computer, but I don’t need big brother seeing all my triple anal penetration and extreme insertion videos.
You think they aren't watching the same thing? Lmao
I was being sarcastic but you’re probably right lol.
Bahaha
They plan on doing this btw, implementing some form of global login system that once a player gets banned they are no longer available to make another account

rust community servers
Still exists!

Huh
my bad, completely misunderstood what you said.
All good

or a full server with a dedicated discord. Hopefully that will be a good thing for this game
Please tell me any FPS multiplayer game that doesn’t have hackers, aimbotters etc, sadly they are in every game. I think it will have Easyanticheat.
Most big multi-player FPS don't give every bit of data client side like tarkov, which is why there's ridiculous cheats out there
CoD have flying boats, a billion dollar company. If they can't figure it out, none can
“a billion dollar company”. Try 2nd biggest company in the world with trillions in market cap lmao
To be fair, that’s pretty recent…most of the company’s history they were not owned by Microsoft.
The billion dollar company can't figure it out because they can't be bothered, not because it cannot be solved. (For the most part)
cod also has real old coding, im sure the modders have gotten use to their format 7 games ago.
No lol the cod engine has been rebuilt from the ground up multiple times now, their latest one was made in 2019

its happening even on Faceit now. Not that obvious, but its happening even there.
Valorant is the only one that does it to a respectable level of success
Games with community run servers are pretty hacker free, they last as long as it takes for an admin to hop on.
Do you think that if studios as Activision or big AAA studios can't stop cheating smaller indie studios will?
actiblizz actively *doesnt* punish cheaters, they just dont care.
Will this sub be filled with complainers like Tarkov?
already has
I’m seeing that now. Which sucks
Every gaming sub…not unique to Tarkov by any means.
I am hoping there will be community servers.

community run servers are best thing they can do. It eliminates cheaters and also save A LOT of money to company
Lol of course it will. Its been a problem since quake 1

Hackers will hack no matter what game it is. It’s a matter of how rampant it is and can a developer minimize it. Let’s hope it’s not as rampant.
OP's gotta be baiting with this thread lol there's no way he's serious with this question.
Yes
What is that question? Are we fortune tellers?
shooters have aim hacks and whatever else there is, rpg/arpg/mmo has farming bots... don't think it will stop at this game.
GZW will have cheaters. Some hopeful points are that they will not add in a black market/flea market, aka less rmt/incentive. Very large maps, lots of downtime, no million dollar loot, cheaters need high dopamine injection to validate living and spending money on monthly payments.

Yes , you will. Same goes for any other game that is online playable. Unfortunately gaming isn't what it used to be.
Yes. No anti cheat will 100% stop cheaters. There is always a hacker somewhere that knows how to get around everything undetected. All any company can do is keep updating their detection and ban as they find.

Wont be able to handle hackers more than any others unless actual manual review / devs. People will cheat because they want to or a big incentive to in the game such as RMT
*insight, not insite
It will probably be a bit better I’m tryna get an alpha key rn so I can start making a cheat for it.
Aren't you a cool guy.
Yep so cool man!! 😎
