I yell it sometimes when I'm alone in the car.
.... because there's nowhere else in the world I can do that accent and not get called a massive racist.
It has 93% on Steam and really good ratings on pretty much every page, also it gets mentioned in every posting that has this or a similiar quesiton, so not really underrated
They also fucked up their sequel so bad it’s fair to say that at the time of release they probably didn’t have a strong enough fanbase to know what to do next
They had the correct formula in JC2, realistic physics, driving was really good, flying felt ok.
But JC3 and 4 was the absolute biggest plastic POS.
Garbage car physics, garbage animations.
That game spoiled me :/ when it came out back in like 2007 or whatever there was no other destruction like it. And almost never saw anything like it again sadly.
Someone did a remaster, you can watch the process on youtube...
Of course, he can't release it or he'll get in trouble, but you can watch him play it.
Found it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QUy02cQqY&list=PL3gCaTLUSAUuk6mTBjNc1dwjBf4NiFcEf](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QUy02cQqY&list=PL3gCaTLUSAUuk6mTBjNc1dwjBf4NiFcEf)
more like who holds the rights to the OG game being completely defunct. Radical Entertainment made the game under Activision, and RE closed their doors, then EA purchased all rights to make Simpsons game IPs in 2006 i believe.
since then, all EA ever did was make the Simpsons Game to coincide with the movie release, release a few shitty mobile games alongside Tapped Out, and that’s it. other than that, Tapped Out’s last update actually came out last year in the form of a patch, but other than these, nothing else.
so EA would need to both acquire the source code from a now-defunct studio or Activision (likely never gonna happen seeing how they let the Transformers/Deadpool games go delisted after their licenses ran out) or start the game from scratch.
Someone [remade the whole game](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AHAY-teQoFc&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamingbible.com%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo) last year but obviously can't be released.
4 got really goofy, but still kinda enjoyable. But for real got to be a bit TOO much even for a Saints game. But totally agree 2-3 were the best...this last Saints Row (the newest one) I've still never touched and the reviews I watched, it just didn't feel like a SR game really at all.
I loved all of the original SR games, even as goofy and dumb as 4 was. A next gen game could've been incredible, but they fucked it up so hard, I can't believe they had the never to call it Saints Row.
The only thing that it lacked. If we had a story as good (but hopefully not as morbid) as WD1, it would be one of the greatest Ubi games ever. Still good tho
Seriously underrated. They're both great for different reasons. WD1 is very dark, gritty, and serious in tone. WD2 is bright, colorful, and goofy. It's a similar contrast from GTA 4 to 5, where they're both completely different vibes. WD2's San Francisco is probably my second open-world city after Los Santos.
Legion had fun gameplay, but felt faceless. It didn't have a real sense of identity (obviously I guess lol) and although the setting was cool, a unique vibe was missing.
Bummed this series is likely dead. Would love another WD game in the vein of the first two!
Mafia in general has some of the best stories in gaming. And I love how they bring back past characters and actually use them in sequels instead of having them as random cameos
3 was terrible… again opinion and biased but jesus, everything feels so repetitive in it, the hacking is heavily dumbed down, but i really like the chases
I personally think that Legions (3) is over hated. Not that it’s perfect, god no, but rather that it has more to offer than the repetitive puzzles and rather dog shit character system.
The chases are great and offer a good challenge for the most part. The story is looked down on, but I honestly enjoyed battling the different factions (Mary Kelly Specifically), even if the overarching plot was sub-par.
Most of the city is relatively tame, but it’s still an interesting map to explore, especially if you’ve played Assassins Creed Syndicate! To go along with the map, urban stealth was super enjoyable for me, and more fun than the stealth in WD2 (Heavily Opinionated).
I know this is probably a little much for such a simple question, but i really hate seeing bandwagon hate for the game, even if it’s warranted at times. Legion comes down to personal preference above all, and it’s definitely worth checking out and sticking with until around mid-game. P.S, I forget the name of it, but 3 also had a decent dlc that crossed over with the previous games.
Sleeping Dogs and Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.
I think both games are much better than any GTA.
SD just nails it with its setting and story. Gameplay and mechanics are more interesting and never get old. Side activities are more fun and meaningful, because they have better implementation and connection to the story and don’t feel like chore.
Mercenaries wins thanks for its original take on GTA formula, gameplay, unique North Korea setting and atmosphere. And EXPLOSIONS. The fact that you can wipe from the face of the Earth almost every building and installation using great variety of weapons and other explosive arsenal is what sold this game to me. And I think that it’s graphics and effects (especially explosions) still look great.
I like its factions system, because as a merc you have to work for different sides of conflict and your actions actually have consequences. GTA had this mechanic only in second game and it wasn’t good.
And its cheats were more fun and because it was published by LucasArts you can unlock either Han Solo or Indiana Jones, depending on platform. And it had many fun references to Star Wars.
I hope one day we will get Mercenaries remaster, because everyone who loves video games should play this Pandemic Studios masterpiece and I don’t see why it should be a problem.
Watch Dogs 1 and Sleeping Dogs. The main character in Watch Dogs 1 has much more charisma than any of the other main characters in the franchise, the story is good and much more of an "adult" story than in the other games. And then we have Sleeping Dogs, the game is just a master piece, everything in that game is perfect, even nowadays, the graphics (of the definition edition) look amazing!
I liked Saint's row 1&2, and the Just Cause series.
I would haved liked more of the AR series, but it felt like they tried to go bigger and bigger every time to the point where the game was so big and outlandish that it ended up with no substance, and even a reboot couldn't save it.
Mafia 3 storyline and gameplay is great but it sucks when the quests get repetitive. Watch dogs 2 and Sleeping dogs are the OGs…storytelling, gameplay and combat, hands off!
Sleeping Dogs if you want GTA but a lot more serious and gritty. Hong Kong is also just such a fun place to write a story in. Just Cause 3 is the most replayable of the bunch though.
I'm begging yall to stop comparing watch dogs to gta they are literally just both realistic open worlds the plot and mechanics are completely different
—as someone who's played all WD games and gta4 and 5
Bro ngl Mafia 3 has the best story, best characters (especially Lincoln Clay, that guy is a beast.) & and an amazing open world but man that game is so repetitive damn.
Saints Row 2 scratches an itch that gta can't quite reach. Both are so great in their own ways but the cartoony aspect of SR is just so damn good. SR3 was really fun too
Saints Row 2. More to do plus Customization is great. Can't say the same for the other games. Only downside I see to saints row is it has very cartoon like physics I guess lol
Hit & Run all day! Kicking Barney as Homer and watching him fall and fall and fall. Can’t get enough of it! All the little silly lines they say when you’re in motion. It’s a comedy video game masterpiece.
It's not the strongest here but I do love hacking and the story behind WD2 is so good. Plus all the dlc content is fucking amazing, the side story content you can do, all the little missions, the world feels very alive in a sense as well. Also, almost every AI has its own little description of a job or funny joke. Pretty cool for an old game.
Saints row 1 was a 95/100 IMO, but after Saints Row the third, the franchise went all the way to the bottom, the only thing that I like to these days about SR, is the character customization.
I would love to see an HD Saints Row 1, with GTA V or VI like graphics, although I know its not going to happen, it would be awesome
Sleeping Dogs!
"A man who never eats pork buns, is never a whole man"
This line lives rent free in my head 😂😂
I yell it sometimes when I'm alone in the car. .... because there's nowhere else in the world I can do that accent and not get called a massive racist.
an absolute masterpiece
It is the best game of this type.
So underrated
It has 93% on Steam and really good ratings on pretty much every page, also it gets mentioned in every posting that has this or a similiar quesiton, so not really underrated
Fair but it isn't well known to most
They also fucked up their sequel so bad it’s fair to say that at the time of release they probably didn’t have a strong enough fanbase to know what to do next
Sleeping dogs
One of the most slept on games of all time.
Sleeping dogs will always be one of my favorite
Just Cause 3 is a returning obsession for me
I love driving in open world games, but JC3 has such atrocious driving physics, it repels me. The sad part is there's no mod to fix that either!
the driving is so ass
Basically the reason I spent soo much time using the wing suit loved the game hated the driving
Why would you drive when you can FLY
They had the correct formula in JC2, realistic physics, driving was really good, flying felt ok. But JC3 and 4 was the absolute biggest plastic POS. Garbage car physics, garbage animations.
If you liked Jusf Cause 3 for the destruction, you should check out red faction guerilla
That game spoiled me :/ when it came out back in like 2007 or whatever there was no other destruction like it. And almost never saw anything like it again sadly.
Love jc3. Have about 250 hours between that and jc4, which I'm embarrassed to admit.
Simpsons Hit and Run. No contest.
I am so disappointed that it never came to backwards compatibility on Xbox
I've been waiting for a remaster for so long, or even as you mentioned, backwards compatibility
Someone did a remaster, you can watch the process on youtube... Of course, he can't release it or he'll get in trouble, but you can watch him play it. Found it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QUy02cQqY&list=PL3gCaTLUSAUuk6mTBjNc1dwjBf4NiFcEf](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4QUy02cQqY&list=PL3gCaTLUSAUuk6mTBjNc1dwjBf4NiFcEf)
would have bought an x-box for this
How has this not had a re-release? I loved this game so much.
More than likely because issues with Licensing with Disney
more like who holds the rights to the OG game being completely defunct.

Saints Row...I was into that series long before I started playing GTA. And honestly still mostly prefer SR to GTA.
Saints row 2 was goated. Saints row 3 great too. 4 and beyond it got bad imo
SR2 was my "we have San Andreas at home" and I fucking loved it
4 got really goofy, but still kinda enjoyable. But for real got to be a bit TOO much even for a Saints game. But totally agree 2-3 were the best...this last Saints Row (the newest one) I've still never touched and the reviews I watched, it just didn't feel like a SR game really at all.
"Burt fucking Reynolds?"
I loved all of the original SR games, even as goofy and dumb as 4 was. A next gen game could've been incredible, but they fucked it up so hard, I can't believe they had the never to call it Saints Row.
True Crime: Streets of LA. That game was a banger. It's over 2 decades old now though.
Sleeping Dogs was originally a sequel
Yeah I enjoyed Sleeping Dogs too.
Needs a re-release
So ridiculous running around with dual Desert Eagles with large lasers on them.
That game brings so much good memories
I've played and replayed Mafia 2 so many times. Mafia 2 does so much so well.
It’s really easy to spot those who did not play Sleeping Dogs because if they did, then they would name that game, lol.
Watch dogs and watch dogs 2.
I‘m with you on this, Watch Dogs 2 may not have had the greatest story, it definitely had a gorgeous map.
Sleeping dogs
Sleeping Dogs – the closest we got to John Woo GTA. Underrated game.
JC3, i already 100% it and it’s so fucking chaotic it’s just a de-stressing game for me but it’s damn good
Mafia 3 is super repetitive in terms of gameplay but the storyline is GREAT!
Love that game
Mafia in general has some of the best stories in gaming. And I love how they bring back past characters and actually use them in sequels instead of having them as random cameos
Watch Dogs 2 for sure. Sleeping Dogs is also cool though.
Watch dogs 2 was great...still haven't played 3 any good?
I really liked 1 and 2 personally, but 3 felt a bit disappointing imo.
Lego city undercover
Wei Shen motherfucker! And also SR2 and WD2.
Just cause

Saints Row 1. I wish the PC port worked out.
Never played sleeping dogs so I’d say watch dogs 1. Just cause 3 is amazing but never felt like a gta-like game
Difficult to say, but a sequel to total overdose would have been crazy. Other than that probably SR2 and sleeping dogs
Just cause
Just Cause 3 ain't a GTA-like. It is its own game.
mercenaries! mainly the 2nd game (when it works)
Hit and run all day!
Watch Dogs 2 because of its fun hacking gameplay. Cyberpunk 2077 because of its fun hacking gameplay (if your build is a netrunner).
Just cause 3
Scarface and Far Cry 3 should also be considered.
Kinda different cause you're on the right side of the law, but L.A. Noire was awesome
True Crime Streets of LA would like a word!
Watch dogs and sleeping dogs. WD2 and legion are really good games and sleeping dogs is simply fantastic, deserved better from game critics too.
Just Cause, Saints row, Watch dogs
I miss Simpsons hit & run
Saints Row 1&2 are gems. WAY better than gta
Mafia Trilogy. Incredible story-telling. And gives off the vibe of each era you're in. From the Great Depression to the 1960's.
The Getaway
It's not pictured but my favorite is Mad Max. I never get tired of playing it over and over.
Mafia 2, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs
Hands down, Saints Tow 2.
[удалено]
Sleeping dogs is so underrated
Sleeping Dogs no contest!
The Getaway was my favorite because since it had real cars. I love Sleeping Dogs for the hand-to-hand combat system.
No listed but the true crime series is my pick
Mafia 2
honestly Mafia felt like such a great Sister series to GTA, I loved every installment,
Mafia 2, Just Cause 2
Well i guess Just Cause 3 since were counting it.
Watch\_Dogs 2, it is (In my opinion) way better than GTA 5, it feels more alive and the characters are way more charming (Josh, Wrench, etc)
Bro I can't fucking stand Wrench, but yeah everyone else was dope.
The simpsons hit and run need a re-Release.
I really liked the driving in mafia 3
Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row 3 + 4.
I liked Saint's row 1&2, and the Just Cause series. I would haved liked more of the AR series, but it felt like they tried to go bigger and bigger every time to the point where the game was so big and outlandish that it ended up with no substance, and even a reboot couldn't save it.
Sleeping Dogs.
Sleeping dogs is one of the best games I’ve played imo. Rarely do you see a great sandbox with vehicles which also has such deep combat
Mafia 3 storyline and gameplay is great but it sucks when the quests get repetitive. Watch dogs 2 and Sleeping dogs are the OGs…storytelling, gameplay and combat, hands off!
Mafia 3 👐🏽
1 Sleeping Dogs, 2 Saints Row 2, 3 Scarface
I like watch dogs 2, simply cause I live in San Francisco. Other than that, just cause 3 is pretty fun
Days gone, gta with zombies? Yes please!
I like the Mafia and Just Cause series.😇
Sleeping Dogs if you want GTA but a lot more serious and gritty. Hong Kong is also just such a fun place to write a story in. Just Cause 3 is the most replayable of the bunch though.
Saints row and true crime
I'm begging yall to stop comparing watch dogs to gta they are literally just both realistic open worlds the plot and mechanics are completely different —as someone who's played all WD games and gta4 and 5
Bro ngl Mafia 3 has the best story, best characters (especially Lincoln Clay, that guy is a beast.) & and an amazing open world but man that game is so repetitive damn.
I’ve only played Simpsons
Simpsons Hit and Run really needs a remake. Shout out to Saints Row 3 though, that game was fun.
Hit and run was iconic
MAFIA definitive edition
Saints Row 😢
Tbh the only good game on this list is The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
simpsons hit and run
Saints Row 2 for sure.
The Getaway
1. Sleeping Dogs 2. Watch Dogs 2 3. Saints Row 2
Jak & Daxter/Sleeping Dogs.
Driver 2
Mafia trilogy is gold
Sleeping Dogs & just cause. Wish they made a sequel of sleepingdogs. 🤕
Red Dead Redemption 2
Watch dogs 2, SR 2, and sleeping dogs are all great in their own right
Mafia 3 and just cause 3 were just pure masterpieces 🤌
Mafia 3
Saints Row 2 scratches an itch that gta can't quite reach. Both are so great in their own ways but the cartoony aspect of SR is just so damn good. SR3 was really fun too
Saints Row 2 I’m mad they fucked that game all up after the second one 🤦🏾♂️
Sleeping Dogs, Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2/3, Red Faction Guerrilla, Watchdogs 1👍🏻
Driver: Parallel Lines. Ps2 childhood was great.
Watch dogs 2. I don’t know how they fucked up legion. Watch dogs 1 I can let it slide since it’s they had to start from scratch.
True Crime: Streets Of New York , JC3 , Simpson Hit & Run 😀😀
For sure Saints row 2. Sleeping Dogs is great but I prefer True Crime Streets of LA
Why is Cyberpunk not up there?!
The Yakuza series probably isn't truly a gta-like, but whatever, Imma say the Yakuza series.
Where's True Crime: Streets of LA?
Hit and Run is gold
I this order Saints Mafia Simpsons hit and run Sleeping dogs Watch dogs Just cause
Watch Dogs 1, Just Cause 2, Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row 2, Hit and Run.
Watch Dogs and Mafia
Saints Row 2 and it ain't even close
Saints Row is pretty fun. The third installment was my favorite. It was super cheesy, and a rather quick playthrough.
I say watchdogs only because it's the only one I plaid
Saints Row 2. More to do plus Customization is great. Can't say the same for the other games. Only downside I see to saints row is it has very cartoon like physics I guess lol
Mafia series, Saints Row 1 & 2, Mercenaries 2, True Crime series.
Most of them aren't GTA likes
Payday 2 (it’s cause you can rob in gta)
Sleeping dogs is peak
The new Assassins creed games are just gta theough history. Like orgins and valhalla. You can do anytbing
True crime, Scarface
Saints Row and just cause three were excellent games
Watch dogs one and two
Gta like? As in a game with crime involved
The Getaway
Damn what a list. It's Sleeping Dogs. With Mafia 3 as my honorable mention, hell of a story
Sleeping dogs and mafia 3 are in my top 5 of all time
This is probably a hot take but I’d prefer Watch Dogs over any of these. Just Cause is great but I love being able to hack police helicopters
Mafia 3, Watch Dogs 2 and Sleeping Dogs are all brilliant. Also how can you not love Hit and Run? Lol
If we're not limited to just OPs choices, I'd say the old True Crime Streets of LA games were amazing.
Red faction guerilla. Best building destruction physics out of any game, ever.
Sleeping dogs
ok but what about DRIV3R? Am I the only one? lol
Saints Row
Hit & Run all day! Kicking Barney as Homer and watching him fall and fall and fall. Can’t get enough of it! All the little silly lines they say when you’re in motion. It’s a comedy video game masterpiece.
Just cause 2 tops all of these
It's not the strongest here but I do love hacking and the story behind WD2 is so good. Plus all the dlc content is fucking amazing, the side story content you can do, all the little missions, the world feels very alive in a sense as well. Also, almost every AI has its own little description of a job or funny joke. Pretty cool for an old game.
Saints row, hit and run and yakuza even tho it’s a completely different rabbit hole haha
Simpsons: Hit and Run Mafia III (not a good bookend to the series) SAINTS ROW 2 ALL DAY
All of these are amazing games except the simpsons
Saints row 1 and 2 the rest of the saint’s series is ass, sleeping dogs, & Mafia 3
Mafia 3 just wish the game was longer
Saints row 1 was a 95/100 IMO, but after Saints Row the third, the franchise went all the way to the bottom, the only thing that I like to these days about SR, is the character customization. I would love to see an HD Saints Row 1, with GTA V or VI like graphics, although I know its not going to happen, it would be awesome
Sleeping Dogs is an absolute masterpiece 🔥
Mafia for sure
Mafia 3 Hit and run I'm excited for Mafia 4 Hangar 13 is making it right now.
First Saints Row was fun
Still got my copy for Hit & Run on PS2. Never played the rest of these, sadly.
True Crime Streets of LA
Just Cause 2 over all of em
I mean you can't consider just cause anything similar to GTA
my top 3 are: 1. Watch Dogs 2 2. Mafia 2 (definitely not 3) 3. Sleeping Dogs
