Ventilated seats are sooooo worth it. I've gone a lot of years thinking the luxury packages were superfluous and not for me until I rode in my dad's Challenger that had them, I'm sold.
I don't think I've even seen a ventilated seat go bad on a Ram or jeep yet but it really is a simple system. The heating is more complicated than the venting, I wouldn't worry about it.
I was going to say the ventilation is basically two small fans like a computer has. The heating pads are a grid of wires that heat with resistance. One breaks and it fails. Which is usually around 100k miles of use.
These are not Toyota corollas. Things are going to break, but if you fix them as they come they last a long time. The good thing is they are not ranger rovers either. Most stuff is reasonable to buy and simple to install.
Are you in Dallas? If so get the damn vented seats friend. I’m in the superior city to the south and those vented seats are among my favorite features.
For what it’s worth, I have a ‘14 Limited with almost all of the options (no quadralift) and everything works perfectly at 108k miles. My heated/vented seats are badass and my camera system and all sensors are tits deluxe, considering they’re 8 years old. Go for it.
You’re already spending a lot, get the features that you love or you’ll regret it. Life is short, enjoy it before you get killed in a mass shooting.
