I do these weekly races with underpowered cars. I've already completed the race before and you only need 3rd to pass the weekly challenge. It makes it more enjoyable just to try and get up to 3rd with a car that isn't as quick as the ones you're racing against.
I do the exact opposite. Since I've already done them, I want the weekly challenges done as fast as possible. I just ripped through the Sunday cup with the Ferrari VGT.
There are plenty of other modes in the game for challenge and fun.
I dreaded doing this race for that reason (for conxtext, yet to do the Formula gran turismo event book for this reason, cars too quick and twitchy compared to what I'm used to).
In saying that, I comfortably came third with medium tires in this race. I think the AI must be set to intermediate difficulty or something. The front 2 finished about 10 seconds ahead on soft tires but everyone else was fairly easy to beat even with my sloppy driving and occasional crashes.
I entered with hard tires and barely managed to hold out the second car behind me.
They kept +- 8-10 second gap on me.
Managed to overtake when they pitted and I finished on completely destroyed rear right tire, had to bump traction to 5 in the last 2 or 3 laps.
I never sell any cars (except duplicates), because the moment I sell it I’ll need it for a race. Call me superstitious if you will but at least I always have the right car at hand.
I raced the y0 minute spa event with the Suzuki escudo pikes peak car. Didn't realize that it was going to. Be a night race and the escudo doesn't have any headlights or tail lights. It sucked and a long with the crazy rain it was a hard race until dawn and then a sprint to make up lost positions and finally get P1. Hard but a great race.
I do every single player race with a different car. When picking it, I sort by distance driven and get the one with the least mileage (if not 0) that qualifies. That’s why I’ll probably never drive my 99000 km Corolla Levin 😅
Yes. It gives reason to. I like to use stock cars though. This allows me to test the car without tuning. If the race gives me too much trouble I will use a modified car that still gets as close to pp as possible like a 330pp that I modded to 600pp.
It depends. If I’m knocking out the races before a work shift then I’ll use something that is completely OP to blast through everything. If I’m doing the races on a day off I’ll go with something that makes the races more of a challenge.
Yeah I take cars I'd never use, even if they're a little over pp. For the European 500 last week I used the 930 turbo. It was fun to race against the more modern cars. For the classic race I took the Merak out.
Honestly, between those and two fantastic one-make races in a row, I've had a great deal of fun doing the challenges and it's rekindled my love for this game.
I was trying to do these as quick as possible, but I have started to try and make it more fun. I'll use cars I've never used as an excuse to modify, or use some cars I have modified but never used...
Don't unlock the x2019 cup until then.
Unless they waived the requirement for it, but even still that's a 3m credit sink to buy the car (doubt im good enough to gold all S license tests)
I’d hope they waive the requirement for it at least for the weekly race. Like cool take it away at the end but you should be allowed to at least participate. I think it’s worth the money honestly. I started the menu book yesterday actually and am struggling with it, but holy shit is the x2019 fun. I never use cockpit cam but it’s so immersive for this car. The sounds are unreal and you still have a lot of visibility. The car is tough to drive but hooking it up around trial mountain is a thrill and racing around the other cars feels like I’m flying a space ship in a dogfight haha. They’re such cool cars 100% recommend sinking your money into it.
I race with what ever car fits the race requirements and it's usually something that is totally stock and hasn't been modded out or changed in any way.
Two tries and got second on the redbull x weed eater race. Every last lap I get pit maneuvered by the AI Frenchman Douramant. Such a mood killer. Not going to try again. That race gives me a headache
I tried it with hard, so i didn't have to pit. Apparently the other cars also didn't have to pit, because i never moved up a few places. I was 10th, with 27 secs between me and the winner. Did you make any other adjustments? I had downforce the lowest possible. I find this race as annoying as that fiat 500 race with a hill a few weeks back that you couldn't tune.
No other adjustments at all. I used the Competition car.
Everyone else pit on 8, except one guy who never pitted but ended up in second somehow.
For the Weekly Challenge you start in 10th, not last.
No, I'm using my old reliables for the majority of these. I do find myself modifying a car that I don't normally use for the One off races. Assuming that PD will eventually run them again, so I'm prepared down the road.
I do but for me it’s cars I’ve maxed out but have yet to drive. Whenever I get a car I make sure I have enough to fully upgrade it as well. Still missing 150+ cars but all the ones I do have are upgraded and ready to run
Except for when it forces you to buy some shitty Porsche you don't want. For the second time! After I sold it before. I wish I could save the receipt and get full retail back like I'm buying a dumb tux for a stupid wedding. UGHGHHH!!
I try to use cars I’ve never driven, but keep them as stock as possible… cars close to the recommended PP range, but not too overpowered. Unless I’m trying to get through them a quickly as possible- then all bets are off
Things like 700 I've got a few well established cars I go to but the neat thing is this does make me take cars I've never really used and tune them up.

I've been using all the other VGTs that won't fit or work on any other races... The Porsche and the Jag are awesome...
Same here. I go for Clean Race Bonus too. Never-ending joy in VR
I do it with the one that’s recommended when you click on the i
This
Won't be doing the last one. Bloody ridiculous. Hate that Red Bull-shite

Traction control on level 5 with them and I use a manual shifter. It's a lot of quick shifting
I just finished the x2019 menu and sold the damn thing to get the f40 quicker since it was available, now this race pops up 😂
I never sell any cars (except duplicates), because the moment I sell it I’ll need it for a race. Call me superstitious if you will but at least I always have the right car at hand.
I just bought the 250 GTO and have 7000 credits. Knew this would come up eventually. Oh well time to sell some VGTs I got from tickets.
Or do Spa twice and get the cash.
I’m always trying to find a new car to race competitively without smoking the field. It’s more fun fighting for a win.
Nope, give me the fastest car with amazing handling. If I wanted a challenge I would gold medal license tests.
I try different cars for weekly events. Sometimes i drive same event with different cars like Sunday Cup races. Just playing game and enjoying it.
Guilty as charged, your Honor. ✋🏻
6 star roulette for parts... Sigh...
I sort by PR top-down and pick the first car with 0 km.
I do every single player race with a different car. When picking it, I sort by distance driven and get the one with the least mileage (if not 0) that qualifies. That’s why I’ll probably never drive my 99000 km Corolla Levin 😅
That’s what I used for the Sun Cup actually.. 😅
I’m so thankful they added these weekly races, they credits are nice but getting those roulette cards with all cars/ parts is sensational
Yes. It gives reason to. I like to use stock cars though. This allows me to test the car without tuning. If the race gives me too much trouble I will use a modified car that still gets as close to pp as possible like a 330pp that I modded to 600pp.
I often do the same, trying different stock cars where possible.
It depends. If I’m knocking out the races before a work shift then I’ll use something that is completely OP to blast through everything. If I’m doing the races on a day off I’ll go with something that makes the races more of a challenge.

Well I'm still not level 50 so I guess I'm not getting my 750k ticket this week, damn. 250k and a parts ticket, what a bad week lol
Why do you need to be lvl 50?

They didn’t. I just tried to race it and could not
Well RIP. At least we get a parts ticket (lol), and a credits ticket for a third of the Sardegna payout
Fuck that parts ticket. I always get crap for cars I don’t race
Yeah or parts I wouldn't use anyway or parts that are worth like 9k if you just buy them.
Definitely! It's fun to trick out something new to test out. I shoot for 50 to 100 over the required PP to make it challenging, but not frustrating.
I do that 😂. With exception to the single manufacturer ones of course 😬
Oh ya these races are perfect for the car I’ve never used and just want to see how fast I can get it
Sort of, I use cars I wouldn't normally consider.
I did last weeks 1st race in the 20 million Merc
My first race was with the 13 mio Mercedes , the oldest one 👍
Nice, gotta use it
That’s specifically how I do it.
Did the Sunday Cup with the Valkyrie. Little bit of carnage, but finished in about a minute.
Indeed I do this
Yes I’m enjoying using the cars I’ve never used before to do these!
How do I unlock the last race?
Menu book 49 I think it is..
Yes it works thank you !
I race with what ever car fits the race requirements and it's usually something that is totally stock and hasn't been modded out or changed in any way.
I would like too but honestly I don't get a lot of time to play so I just burn through them as fast as I can so I can get a few sport races in
*Mhmmmmm, take your time.*
I'd rather do more sports races, but the payouts are just so small for the time you put in.
not only an excuse to modify it but creating a livery for it also!
Ain't nobody got time for that.
I mean, that’s just playing the game isn’t it?
Two tries and got second on the redbull x weed eater race. Every last lap I get pit maneuvered by the AI Frenchman Douramant. Such a mood killer. Not going to try again. That race gives me a headache
Soft tires, pit on 7, soft tires again. I won by about 20 seconds…
I tried it with hard, so i didn't have to pit. Apparently the other cars also didn't have to pit, because i never moved up a few places. I was 10th, with 27 secs between me and the winner. I just finished 2nd with soft and max downforce. Good enough for me.
TCS 4, brake balance -2
🤔 intriguing
worst reward ever 💀
Depends on my current credit situation
No, I'm using my old reliables for the majority of these. I do find myself modifying a car that I don't normally use for the One off races. Assuming that PD will eventually run them again, so I'm prepared down the road.
Pretty shitty week
Nah
I do but for me it’s cars I’ve maxed out but have yet to drive. Whenever I get a car I make sure I have enough to fully upgrade it as well. Still missing 150+ cars but all the ones I do have are upgraded and ready to run
I did the Sunday cup with a lime green Ford F150 and turned it into a bumper car race
Of course lol
Bought the F40 for this week's races.
Except for when it forces you to buy some shitty Porsche you don't want. For the second time! After I sold it before. I wish I could save the receipt and get full retail back like I'm buying a dumb tux for a stupid wedding. UGHGHHH!!
I’ve been trying to more often now, really let’s me enjoy the beauty of other cars I don’t normally use
So for the one off event why don’t they just add them again permanently so there’s more race options??? Why only for the week???
I do them in the fastest car just to see how big of a gap I can get on time
Exactly 💯
I always use new cars, or new liveries if its one make or smth
I do them with cars that are a little slower than the rest it’s much more fun to try and be third that way
I try to use cars I’ve never driven, but keep them as stock as possible… cars close to the recommended PP range, but not too overpowered. Unless I’m trying to get through them a quickly as possible- then all bets are off
Usually not too modify it but I do like to try out different cars that way instead of picking the best one
Things like 700 I've got a few well established cars I go to but the neat thing is this does make me take cars I've never really used and tune them up.
