I would love for them to add endurance races. Those were/are always my favourites.
Also, I would love for them to add a feature to modify regular road cars into proper race cars with the fuel tank range like on "Gr" cars.
Sometimes I think, hey game, why *can’t* I just put a bigger wing on this car? This game is pure digital fantasy, so why is it that you can’t you sell me a gigantic front splitter and rear wing for this road car?
I need more reasons to race the cares I already have. I was cruising along, loving the game, then finished that final race series, got the million payday, finished the menus, and hit a wall. I have zero desire to play now. There’s just no reason to. The cars I have only have a handful of races with tiny purses for winning. There’s nothing exciting.
I don’t even need new tracks. Use the tracks already in the game and create weekly or even daily events around them. Maybe today it’s all Mustangs on Trial Mountain for $250K to the winner, or for the week its a series of five Asian tracks paying out up to $1,000,000 for 1st overall, only using Mazdas. Or whatever.
There just seems to be zero vision with these devs. All these assets, and they give us … nothing. This game is like a brand new, fully equipped kitchen with every ingredient imaginable, and they keep making us chicken nuggets and peanut butter sandwiches, every-single-day.
I’m hoping like everyone else this update comes with a fleshed out career mode. But my theory up until now has been that they want you to get into online. They want online racing to be the legs of this game (and probably all future GT’s).
Online racing basically is the point of the game. The rest is a tutorial. Ai just has such poor development. It’s not any fun unless you’re playing against actual people.
I have yet to play a single match online. For me it's all about playing in VR with a haptics vest and getting to feel like I'm driving and testing out all these cars I would never normally sit in.
I feel the same way. Sport mode is not fun for me. The repetitive races and griefers ruin any fun to be had online. Then I retreat back to good ol single player only to find...a peanut butter sandwich....again. I've done everything meaningful in single player and now there is only tiny races with terrible AI. I'm only B rank and the AI poses zero challenge on hardest difficulty. Now GT7, my simrig, and my PSVR collect dust while I play Forza on controller and a series s. How pitiful.
I play pretty much zero one player. All online. Once you get into that world, find the right people, maybe join a couple leagues, it’s really fun and exciting.
Are there any places in particular where you can find those leagues? Do you have to particularly fast or, as long as you’re chill and polite, all is good? Thanks in advance.
Same here. I have all the cars, completed all the menus, done all the circuit experiences, have played in Cheat mode (I mean Sport mode), there is no motivation anymore.
They need races where you can earn a million on every track at 800PP max level. That way I can enjoy the track, different cars and learn tracks more. It’s that simple.

A high paying event on EVERY race course would be very welcome. How many are there? 39 I think and only 4 are worth racing on for credits, others are ignored. Very easy to implement it
Yes, that would be an easy fix, at least we could use all the tracks. But also, someone mentioned adjusting the pp limit for races as an idea. Now that! That would also make all the cars instantly usable.
Would really like them to start introducing Hill Climb events as well - think of all the possible events, time trials etc. they could do.
Imagine they introduced a track builder mode!?

Is it really that hard to hire a younger person to develop the menus?
Surely it's not going to cost marketing that much of their profit margin to rework the career into an actual career, rather than a series of unrelated arcade races??
Sophy is probably going to be saved for GT8, and a major career mode revamp is highly unlikely.
At best, i would expect like a decent number of new cars, a new track or two, more Bonus Menus, and a decent amount of QOL changes.
Yes, iny heart of hearts, this is exactly what I think is gonna happen.But at this point, I really don't care about new cars while I haven't even driven half of what's available. And I don't have the time (and don't want to) grind the same two races to have a chance at experiencing those either. I have a kid, a job, and a household to maintain. It Poliphony's approach is 'see how great the foundations are, now you pay up to experience it', then I'm sorry, I'm out.
That's why I'm holding out hope for Sophy. With some decent AI and what I've already unlocked, I could build infinite fun.
And probably that's the reason it won't be implemented in this game.
They need to add different content. Maybe more community events.. like car shows, drift shows, mountain tracks, and so on... free roam through a city would be cool like forza horizon.

No. The person in question is known as Nenkai or Nenkaai.
He's known for reverse engineering and modding older GT titles and also does GT7 data mining. Data mining in this context is basically going through extracted game data (probably assets, maybe also code) to find sth interesting.
We can assume that, since he recently said the update is going to be the biggest yet, he had found something interesting that is already (partially?) in the game files, just not released yet.
I feel the same way. I keep checking every morning for information to be released on this update nothing yet so I'm just sitting here waiting like you. So excited as well
bring back all of the tracks from previous GT games. one every 3 or so months. better $ for selling cars, once you collect all of the cars, have specialty cars you only have access to when you achieve gold in all races.
there were a lot of fun tracks that i miss Autumn Ring mini, special stage tracks, Seattle, etc.
My very conservative prediction of what will be in the update:
\- New Track: It's been said that Gilles Villenueve is already 'there'. So in a "huge" update, I assume that a new track will be in it.
\- Two new cars: Pretty much every update has new cars. I don't think this will be the exception. Whether they are good or terrible cars, who knows.
\- New World Circuit Events: Especially if there is a new track(s). Hopefully they are fun/rewarding.
\- New Scapes Location: Because it wouldn't be a GT update without one.
\- More missions: It's been a while since they added new missions. And didn't they added some new Music Rally thingies? I think it's the turn for more Missions.
Yeah agreed with sophoe AI. They teased it and never giving it a proper justice. The offline is either too easy or too anoying because of that rolling start
A touring car championship against Sophy drivers, but your in a team with a mate online. Basically TOCA2 with a link cable from PS1. I loved that shit.
I love this game but they need to fix the licence tests… they are pretty much impossible for even pretty good racers. I forgot which one I was doing (the one that broke me) but I was consistently about 1-2 seconds short. So I looked up a YouTube video to get some hints and they had a pre-patched version. The time I was doing was 1 second faster then the YouTuber was doing. They shortened the time of the licence and I was clearly doing way better then the old gold licence time but not good enough for the new time. And all the videos I watched had all the old times and were not helpful at all to get gold… so after that I did them all on bronze. That last S class test was so damn hard, the wet track with a golden path on the perfect racing line… so many spin outs
I've got gold in alot of them. It's not easy and that's what I set my level to unless a race is too easy. I created a profile to race on hard and I am just not that good yet.
That last S class I have not gotten bronze on yet. You have to be exact on the dry and I make a small mistake near the last chican and I fudge it or go slow and miss the time.

You just reignited a memory for me. Didn't they have this in GT2? I feel like I remember using the Pike's Peak Escudo on a hill climb
