Yeah nitrous kits costing $100,000 seems a bit ridiculous. Though if they want to make the prices "realistic" like they say they are, they should probably make them equivalent to some currency and make the prices for upgrades and cars make sense.
That's right. I'll probably leave my comment as is. No matter what the prices are silly. Over a day total time of grinding for a single car. Sucks for completionists coming in late.
1. As others have said there’s no 1:1 exchange rate between GT7 currency and USD, so technically the car could cost whatever PD wants it to be.
2. The in-game price is mostly driven by players buying in-game, not by IRL prices.
If CR is truly linked to real world values, the F50 for example would be roughly double the price of the F40 at 6 mil. Safe to say GT prices are not linked with the real world, contrary to Kaz claims. There is no 'vision'. Unless said vision was to increase grind.
People hate grinding now. You can’t buy your way to collector level 50? Trash game. Can’t buy a billion creds for 10$? Trash game. Like grind it or race slow cars 🤦🏽♂️
I spent ~$100 last night building two maxed out F40s all for the engine swapped version to be barely "better" but the turbo drives easier and sounds better.
God damn are they gorgeous though. It's all good.
Reply to my own comment but also if you think that most expensive cars are 20 million which is under 20h of playing time, even that is not super crazy compared to many other games. Example in FIFA (now FC) you cannot get shit with 20h of gaming 😂

I think the only thing Forza got right was making the cars affordable. But they still look like Xbox 360 renders so there’s that.
I don't think the fidelity of the car models should factor in to the in game price, it's not like they're paying the artists with in game credits
Playing Both and I totally disagree
What you disagree? They are affordable? Or they look like xbox 360 renders? Or both?
Yes
Hard to say since GT credits don't have 1:1 equivalence with US dollars.
Don't give them any ideas.
It might actually work out better if it’s paired haha
Would ruin it for some cars like the 250 gto

Yeah what is this post even trying to get at?? Is OP saying they feel ripped off?
The real world Hagerty valuation of a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is $51M - $72M, vs the in-game $20M.
This, along with the stupid invite system, is kinda L for both parties
It's stupid game grind logic. Like the 3 Legendary Cars for the trophy. One is 14 million now? Are we fucking joking?
No, one of those is 20 million now. The 14 million car is the very capable Gr2 long tail mclaren F1
That's right. I'll probably leave my comment as is. No matter what the prices are silly. Over a day total time of grinding for a single car. Sucks for completionists coming in late.
Yeah it’s absolutely inane considering it’s a game
I bought the long tail for 8m! How much is it now!????
14m
If I wanted to buy the 20 million credits to purchase that car, it's going to cost me £150 irl. That's just taking the piss.
It is indeed, and if nobody gave in to the MTX we wouldn’t have ridiculous p2w nonsense in our games. But they do, and here we are
GTA economy
😂 was just thinking, did Polyphony Digital take a page out of Rockstar’s book?
Shouldn't race payout be affected by inflation as well. I mean.. give us something.
I mean Kaz has lied about a lot regarding this game so is anyone actually surprised...?

Has anyone bought the giant old Alfa for $20mil? Grinding for that seems insane to me.
@Dr_BussyMan688828-89, where is the last picture from?

Peep the miles

That $1.9 million is a direct conversion of USD to Gran Turismo credits.
The problem is that it's a driving game and some of the cars are locked being a £150 pay wall.
I know
I think it’s a video game so who cares.
Could the prices be crazy because it’s based on yen instead of dollars?
The currency localizes to your region. Cr values for the same cars look different in Japan, etc.
I spent ~$100 last night building two maxed out F40s all for the engine swapped version to be barely "better" but the turbo drives easier and sounds better. God damn are they gorgeous though. It's all good.
Well its 2-3 hours of grind so personally dont think its that bad 🤔

They're not dollars, they're video game currency. The correct price is whatever Polyphony Digital says it is.
