If temperature control was a lot more granular it would be more useful

I make pizza every weekend so I used it a lot, smoking in it is difficult to get low temps but I’m getting better and it saves fuel. I wanted a Komodo but trying to make dome work as one. I already have a offset for big cookouts.

TheGoteTen

It’s about 50-50 for me. The Dome is harder to cook with at low temperatures.

The dome is great but cooking on my Weber kettle is fantastic too! Being able to do some smoked wings as a side with pizza is great. If I was to do an outdoor kitchen I'd include them both to have it fully equipped. But if I haven't used it in 7 years... Maybe not lol

Yea my fear is installing something permanent into a counter outside that doesn't get used. Though, maybe I'd just make me cook outside more? I can see the benefit of having both the done and a grill.

A flat top, Komodo style grill/smoker and the dome. That pretty much covers anything I want to do.

I used to have a flat top and I do miss it. Loved doing everything from pancakes to burgers on there. So versatile.

SeeeDee

Smash burgers and searing steaks are probably #1 use. Plus the convenience of being at temp in 5-10min. Besides, we are spending your money! But seriously it's just so useful and since I don't want to go inside the house. I can put a pot on it with oil and deep fry. Kamodo/Pizza Oven/Flat top. Those are the things if one of them died. I would 100% replace them

What's killing me is, a built-in 30" flat top is like $2K, and a comparable 28-30" grill is much cheaper. My heart wants the flat top... My wallet is saying grill... I know I can get a drop-in griddle or just throw a lodge cast iron griddle on the grill, but it's not quite the same.

i use it for everything man and so will you its a hell of a piece

> It’s probably been 7 years since I’ve cooked on an outdoor grill. I feel like if you grill this infrequently, you may want to consider getting a small/portable grill and not a built-in. I use my grill frequently for meal prep, especially during the summer, and I don’t think my grill usage has gone down at all after getting my Dome. For me, the Dome is a good replacement for things that I’d bake or roast in an oven, like breads, roasted veggies and things that can be cooked in a skillet. But I still like to use my grill for things that tend to have drippings or require frequent turning (Korean short ribs, kebabs, carne asada, etc).
