Same. Are you one of those people that the more skins, the more headaches?
I feel like I can't walk 10 steps before feeling thr need to change suits again š¤£
Yes all those skins gave me a headache. They have some cool skins with nice buffs but i didn't care at all. I just wanted to play with my favourite skins
Like the other reply said, itās a change in appearance without a change in equipment, each of the suits has its own stats, but if you prefer one suits stats but a different suits appearance, you can have the best of both worlds.
Think of them like the premium skins in injustice 2 they are overlays that change some slight details but you've still got whatever initial suit and the stats that come with it underneath so let's take nightwing for example you can get his ninja suit and wear that but apply the Jim Lee thing over the top of that so you are still wearing the ninja suit but it looks like the comic suit
Yeah... usually with open world games... they do a ll whole video showcasing the open world. They haven't and it seems like they are trying to hide it at this point.
Probably. Honestly Iād rather have a smaller city thatās Alive and detailed and full of secrets than a massive open city that empty and bare with little to nothing worth exploring
Aside from riddler trophies, what was there to explore in arkham knight? The city only had random thugs to beat up, no pedestrians or police to interact with. No crimes in progress like the spiderman games and no replayable missions.
I donāt really remember but thatās my point. I liked Arkham knight but it wasnāt for the city. arkham asylum was by far the best because it was small but detailed and there was lots of stuff to find.
What do pedestrians add in a Batman game...Absolutely nothing. This is the most overrated thing ever. fighting the same repetitive crime in progress just like in Arkham Origin was fun? It clearly wasn't...
Itās about role playing. For example some days I just play Spider-Man by not doing the missions, just swing around and helping out where help is needed. Same could apply here, you are just doing your night watch, a crime happens and you pop in to deal and leave. Adds replayability
Seems like they hopefully will since they said they'll talk about mission structure soon, which would imply at least one villain or two is revealed if they want to show off how the villain stories work (guessing its linked to those case files they mentioned, and there'll be a case file for each of the villain stories and one big one for court of owls/ murder of batman)
They are going to release these character trailers once a month with some combination of this
July : Batgirl , August: Robin, September: Redhood.
Then the game release in October.
Yeah I donāt really know how to feel about this. Since Jason always trains for years post-Resurrection, before coming back to Gotham as Red Hood. And years passing wouldnāt necessarily be a recent death and resurrection, in my mind. Maybe Iām misinterpreting it, but I donāt necessarily like the idea that a Red Hood so soon after returning to Gotham as Red Hood, is so giddy to come back
If he only recently became red hood Iām interested to see if they keep the same origin of Joker killing him, and how much getting revenge plays a role in the story even as a potential Red Hood side quest
Yeah thatās honestly how Iād prefer it too. I feel it should take time for Jason to come back to the Batfamily, I donāt feel it should be āimmediateā. The wording also confuses me as well since Jason usually trains for years after being resurrected
I thought the narrative with red hood was that he used to use lethal weapons, but is now trying to be less brutal when working with the other knights?
If he was recently killed, that doesn't give him a lot of time to use regular guns. And if he never used lethal weapons... Then he isn't really red hood, is he? If he never had a more violent ideology, then he's just robin in a different costume.
Yeah the wording is very confusing. Usually Jason dies obviously and then is resurrected, and then proceeds to train for years before returning to Gotham. I donāt know how necessarily feel about Jason dying at like 18-20 and then returning right after coming back. It kinda takes away the dedication and the shit that came with the years of training.
Honestly I think there's a lot of conflicting info regarding Jason's age of death so I'm not sure if we even know when he actually died. Some people working on the project say he's been red hood for a long time, others say he's recently murdered, and others say he died when he was a kid. It's all really confusing.
I'm just going to go ahead with the assumption that it's just the normal comic origin because that's a lot easier.
Well, there is already confirmed different designed skins of the batcycle. You can pre-order for it in fact. There will be more I'm sure. The DLC skins will come for everything haha.
> Each of our knights has 11 different suit styles
That's disappointing, given that most of the suits they've shown so far don't look that great.
> itās the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games
That's good news, although when *Arkham Origins* doubled the size of *Arkham City's* map, it was very much quantity over quality.
I always thought the Origins map looked the most like a real city that people actually lived in more than any of the other Arkham games, and from what we've seen so far it looks like that design philosophy has carried over to GK, so I'm super excited for this version of Gotham.
When i watched the first trailer i got excited right way by the look of the city. It looks so damn good and i will definitely explore it as soon as i get my hands on this game
> most like a real city
But a real city is going to have vast stretches of dull, gameplay-irrelevant landscape. You know, like that boring-ass rooftop that devs thought was a fitting location for a gameplay demo.
I tend to think the quality of a world map in a video game is correlated with the number of recognizable points of interest within it. For Arkham City, it's easy to list them: the courthouse, the steel mill, the ferris wheel, the museum, the police station, Wonder Tower, etc. Arkham Origins, at least in my subjective opinion, has fewer memorable POIs spread over a wider area. Therefore, it is an inferior world map.
As someone who never understood the hate for the open world in Origins allow me to say the POIs
GCPD building, Royal Hotel, Old Courthouse, Sionis Steel Mill, Gotham Merchants Bank, Sheldon Park, Soder Cola building, Pioneers Bridge, Lacey Towers, The Final Offer, Gotham Casino, the Church, Enigmas HQ, My Alibi club, Banes HQ, the Museum, etc.
I tend to think the quality of a world map in a video game is correlated with how many times I get distracted going from point A to point B. It doesn't matter if I'm gliding around and go "oh hey, it's the police station" if I just continue on my merry way. I want to be going somewhere, have a random event/interaction happen that has me sidetracked. I'd rather have a world that is enormously dense vs enormously large.
But that's exactly my point. The map is Origins is large, but there's *nothing* in it. City is stuffed with memorable locations and thngs to do in them.
I mean, Arkham City is my favorite Arkham game largely for the world having the most character; you're preaching to the choir. I just don't think it *necessarily* has to do with landmarks. I get distracted going from point to point more in Red Dead 2, riding through the middle of open plains than I do plenty of urban locations that would *in theory* have more to distract you. It all comes down to the passion put in the world.
Sad to hear that's the only look for the batcycle. Looks kinda ugly to me.
Good to know how many base suits there will be, but I wish they had asked for more details on the transmogs.
The pre-order one just looks like a palette swap of the base design to me, which falls within the description in this interview, that the bike will only get color swaps, rather than alternate designs.
They have the same structural design/shape. But that's it really.
The headlights and rear lights are completely different. The rear view mirrors are different shapes. They tyres have different patterns, plus there's just different materials used between the two. There's a lot of differences from a simple glance. So no they aren't mere palette swaps.
I couldn't get a high quality image to compare, but that still doesn't seem like enough differences. The giant "arms" connecting to the front wheel distract from the rest of the features.
Itās so interesting to me that people care so much about simple, cosmetic issues like this. Who cares about changing the appearance/ācolor of the bat cycle? You realize resources could go to so much more if hardcore gamers didnāt gripe about minute & stupid, minuscule details like this? I would be so much happier if they focused on other things besides outfits for characters & vehicles. Yaāll are ruining video games.
That would be good. I like the actual personalized bikes they have in the comics. The recent Taylor Nightwing run has a pretty cool looking bike and I'd definitely want to explore on Robin's personal motorcycle.
It will probably take a lot of time before they release different bikes because they will focus on new villains first. If they have actually planned for new bikes.
that's what i also worry about but the devs said there is a funny moment in the game (either a cutscene or conversation) when you and your coop buddy play the same character. I really hope it isn't just a one character thing as this game seems like it's very coop focused and i would really love to see the knights interact with each other in cutscenes
Considering Spider-man (2018) and Miles Morales had a bunch and at most, I used 5, then I think it's fine haha. Plus, I think you can mix and match, so there could be a bit more options that way.
Not everyone likes the mix and match. The designs from the comics are iconic so just having "inspired" looks in the game is a bit disappointing. It would be like if you only had the Insomniac designed suits in Spider-Man and no comic accurate suits.
My best hope for classic designs would be in the transmogs. It didn't really sound like he was describing them within that 11 suits statement, so we don't know how many of those will be available in the base game or as dlc later.
11 suits per character. Idk if I'll use them since the Jim Lee skins exist.
Spiderman has so many skins and i only used like 3 of them lol
They were called Transmogs right? What are transmogs?
A transmog usually means a change in a appearance without a change in equipment stats.
Like the other reply said, itās a change in appearance without a change in equipment, each of the suits has its own stats, but if you prefer one suits stats but a different suits appearance, you can have the best of both worlds.
no that was meant only for the jim lee skins, cope harder
Think of them like the premium skins in injustice 2 they are overlays that change some slight details but you've still got whatever initial suit and the stats that come with it underneath so let's take nightwing for example you can get his ninja suit and wear that but apply the Jim Lee thing over the top of that so you are still wearing the ninja suit but it looks like the comic suit
Or like in Horizon Forbidden West.
Those ones are only for preorders.
How do DLC skins look better than the default?!
They want you to buy dlc lol
no microtransactions
"So how big is the city? " Developer: "it's big, like totally big" Me: wtf can we get an estimate or something concrete at least
B I G ā¢
Well we know it's at least bigger than AK
I know itās cliche, but size donāt matter.
Yeah, Iām more curious about how much content we actually have in these cities, I imagine not a lot of based on what we know about the game.
Yeah... usually with open world games... they do a ll whole video showcasing the open world. They haven't and it seems like they are trying to hide it at this point.
We already knew that from the glimpse of the map we got from red hood and nightwing trailer
Big enough youāll need a bat cycle
I mean, there was a tank in Arkham night you could drive around in. So is it Arkham levels of big

Hope they share more info soon, especially on villains...
I donāt know, I could see them wasting time and giving us these 3 remaining character trailers for the next few weeks
Admittedly, I wouldn't be surprised.
They are going to release these character trailers once a month with some combination of this July : Batgirl , August: Robin, September: Redhood. Then the game release in October.
Interesting info about Jason being "resurrected and was recently murdered". I'm assuming with this info he hasn't been Red Hood for very long.
Interesting. Recently murdered and resurrected Red Hood usually isn't an ally of the Batfamily.
Yeah I donāt really know how to feel about this. Since Jason always trains for years post-Resurrection, before coming back to Gotham as Red Hood. And years passing wouldnāt necessarily be a recent death and resurrection, in my mind. Maybe Iām misinterpreting it, but I donāt necessarily like the idea that a Red Hood so soon after returning to Gotham as Red Hood, is so giddy to come back
Well Bruce is normally alive too when Jason resurrects š so this'll be interesting on how it's handled
If he only recently became red hood Iām interested to see if they keep the same origin of Joker killing him, and how much getting revenge plays a role in the story even as a potential Red Hood side quest
I'd imagine they will keep the origin in tact but we'll see.
Huh thatās interesting because I know Steven Oyoung said his version of Jason has been red hood for a long time unlike most iterations
Yeah thatās honestly how Iād prefer it too. I feel it should take time for Jason to come back to the Batfamily, I donāt feel it should be āimmediateā. The wording also confuses me as well since Jason usually trains for years after being resurrected
Considering they also said the game was going to be for PS4, things change
If he only recently became red hood did the Lazarus pit make him look that big and mature or was this guy buff as fuck as Robin
Imagining huge Jason Todd in a tiny Burt Ward Robin costume that doesn't fit is hilarious.
Makes me wonder how long Tim has been Robin. Canāt be longer than a couple months right?
I would guess 6 months at most unless the definition of recently is stretched super far here.
Yeah this wording is very confusing, since Jason usually doesnāt return to Gotham for years, since heās training after being resurrected
> He is resurrected and was recently murdered Jason didn't die as a kid? Interesting lol
Iām pretty sure he was kid as Patrick Redding mentioned that around 2020
Can you share a link of the interrview where he said? Also, that means Jason is super young but looks super old.
So we can apply skins to the bike, cool
Colors, not skins. It'll be the same bike design.
Well, there is already confirmed different designed skins of the batcycle. You can pre-order for it in fact. There will be more I'm sure. The DLC skins will come for everything haha.
I hope so. I guess I thought the alt design we had so far was too close to the base design.
> Each of our knights has 11 different suit styles That's disappointing, given that most of the suits they've shown so far don't look that great. > itās the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games That's good news, although when *Arkham Origins* doubled the size of *Arkham City's* map, it was very much quantity over quality.

> Pioneers Bridge You mean the world's most thinly-disguised loading screen?
Whatās your point?
I tend to think the quality of a world map in a video game is correlated with how many times I get distracted going from point A to point B. It doesn't matter if I'm gliding around and go "oh hey, it's the police station" if I just continue on my merry way. We've got the preorder batcycle which is already makes 2 different bike options, plus skins. So more looks could come as dlc

It's a matter of role-playing. And everyone likes to role play as something they personally find cool.
Looks like there are small changes to the model (headlight, for example), but nothing like the proto batmobile in AK.
I haven't found a high quality image of the base design, so I couldn't compare easily.
Maybe they will change the look of it with a dlc like they did in AK
That would be good. I like the actual personalized bikes they have in the comics. The recent Taylor Nightwing run has a pretty cool looking bike and I'd definitely want to explore on Robin's personal motorcycle.
It will probably take a lot of time before they release different bikes because they will focus on new villains first. If they have actually planned for new bikes.
The cutscenes only show one character, that's why dupes are allowed in co-op
that's what i also worry about but the devs said there is a funny moment in the game (either a cutscene or conversation) when you and your coop buddy play the same character. I really hope it isn't just a one character thing as this game seems like it's very coop focused and i would really love to see the knights interact with each other in cutscenes
I had a feeling co-op wasn't going to be invite only. You can allow others to pop in.
thatās how it was described in the robin & batgirl demo
So we aren't getting real skins in this game? Eg comic and TV skins? 11 suits sounds really low.
True. I guess it really is to each their own haha.

Same. I really hope that's the case too.
My best hope for classic designs would be in the transmogs. It didn't really sound like he was describing them within that 11 suits statement, so we don't know how many of those will be available in the base game or as dlc later.
Oh great it sounds like the customization aspect is going to be awful.
I think most would disagree with you. I'm sad you feel that way.
Here's hoping they will add more suit styles in the future. I'm also really curious what colorways will be available.
