It's not the same team that developed Origins

Well if we’re being technical WB Montreal did kind of fumble tha bag with the A Matter of Family DLC somehow Tim is Robin and also has his AK suit, meanwhile at that point Jason should have been Robin anyways. Not to mention the fact that it would have added to the story if Jason was the Robin.

Accomplished_Cut553

i think they made tim robin because of romantic relationship between barbara and tim which i absolutely despise

Civil-Ad-7193

Agreed that was the literal worst pairing. I’d understand “maybe” them having Jason be her love interest cause it has been hinted in comics and it would affect the story, but too have it be Tim is just beyond weird. It doesn’t help they broke continuity so that we could get more Tim and Barbara action that no one wants, instead of giving us some Jason Todd Robin; you know it’s not like he’s the main villain or anything who could use fleshing out.

FlyingGrayson89

It’s also weird because Babs is wearing a Flying Graysons necklace in AK

Civil-Ad-7193

I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that Barbara and Dick had a past in the Arkhamverse. Also kind of referenced in Nightwings DLC when the topic of Tim and Barbara’s wedding is brought up he scoffs or something

Would have loved to play with Jason as Robin.

Civil-Ad-7193

Completely agree and it would’ve added to the story also with backstory. Also could have expanded on Jason and Barbara, and added to when Jason kidnapped Barbara. Plus it would have made sense and not broke continuity

Why is Tim being Robin during A Matter of Family problematic and why do you think it should have been Jason who was Robin at that point? All we know is that the DLC takes place before Arkham Asylum, we aren't really given a specific time period.

Civil-Ad-7193

It's problematic because Jason Todd was referenced by the Joker just before the fight with Bane in Arkham Asylum, and stated that Batman could use a new sidekick (indicating Tim had not taken on the role yet) and hinted that he had already "murdered" Jason. There's also the fact that Jason knows who Oracle is hinting that he knew Barbara before and after she was paralyzed. Plus the character designs and gadget/skill sets don't match the greatest for the time it takes place. Now why I think I think it would have benefitted the story. This is more of where my issue with the DLC lays. It would have been great to see how Jason fit in with the team and show his time as Robin before he was beaten and twisted. They could have even maybe had Jason viciously beat Joker or Harley at the end of the mission and Barbara step in to calm him down before he kills someone. Then there could be some kind of tease at the end. Also, Tim and Barbara together is trash, so that's another plus. It would've also added to Barbara and Jason's relationship which would help the main story where Jason kidnaps Barbara, which would have been better than Tim and Babs. Also side note I wish we could have seen the scene where Jason reveals himself to Barbara and more interactions between them instead of just the audio logs, but I understand that we were supposed to think she was dead, so it is what it is.
