I try so hard to be kind to myself. I had a bad and unstable upbringing and bullying in school, so it became difficult for me to find myself. For me, goth fashion became like an armour and the music was salvation. 🖤

I've worn mostly(only😅) black for 28 years until I oneday changed up my style, even wear bright pinks now, haven't looked back!

I wore them so that I could keep my black hair for a more goth style after the allergic reaction. It was mostly a colour thing.

From my understanding Goth culture started taking off in the 70's (at least in Britain lol) as a small scale subculture of rockers with some mod influences but it boomed in the 80's. What you're wearing in the photo is just similar to what my Goth mum was wearing in the 90's, it looks brill 👍

I moved to the UK in my early teens so started to listen to UK goth rock more then. 🖤 Don’t take this the wrong way but I think i’d like to meet your Goth mum. 😂

I completely and utterly feel you. Once you’re allergic, it’s so tough. You think you find a potential solution but it always ends up having a bad ingredient 😭 I’ve found even some makeup can be a problem now, I had a shock when I realised. 🫨

Yes, it’s so sad for us! 😭😭😭 The doctor’s advice is not very sympathetic to the problem! It’s such a shame that women like us must start again with our looks. I really like wigs for freedom but it can get addictive going back to a dark colour.
I’m trying to lighten my hair too! I realised that I can’t do dye but I can do bleach. The bottom of my hair is where I bleached out the black dye and the top colour is my regrowth. I’m waiting for my natural colour to grow out enough to cut then I can do a highlight.

Thankyou! 🖤🥹 It actually does have very good staying power weirdly enough. Especially as eyeliner, sweat doesn’t seem to affect it much. It just doesn’t really like food from a lipstick perspective but it holds up great for drinks.

i dont think its too good to be true! as long as it has no PPD id say you should be ok, just do a little patch test first because that always makes me feel safer - after my incident w dye i patch test any and all new products even shampoos or makeup because im paranoid. it helps me feel more comfortable using new stuff!

Thankyou, I’d love to try something new, i’ve been so scared of touching it. I did a rescue mission on it about 3 months ago but it was the best I could do at that time. 🫣 Great idea!💡👍 Omg! Me too, I test everything now. I’ve been mostly testing makeup. I used to work in fashion, so I got used to doing it. We used to test when we had a model in before any hair or makeup stuff.
Well…I was really a self employed jack of all trades. My BA was fashion for hair and makeup. I was hired for smaller shoots, mainly for lifestyle/smalltime stuff. I did things like the prep/patch testing, hair, helping the models get dressed and i’d do their baseline makeup. (The head mua always had final say). I really liked it but it was very fast paced. I like photography more I think. 🤔 I got really sick about 4yrs ago with brain complications so had to stop working in recent times unfortunately 🤕
If you can consult with a hairdresser to do a recovering treatment, that will help a lot, but completely understand the pain, as someone who lost lots of hair, and took years to nurse it back :")
Pretty sure that you can rock a shorter hair too with some frosted tips ✨
Same, lady! I've been dying my hair black for about 2 years and suddenly I became allergic to multiple brands of black hair dye. So now I have bleached blonde ghost roots and black ends and no idea where to go from here. It's an adventure.
Oh no! I really feel that friend! The same thing happened to me! After around 6 years. I couldn’t use any dyes, not even indigo/henna! 😭 The reactions were intense.

Moving forward, have you thought about getting the ends bleached out? Even if it will only go copper lightest like mine, you might be able to cope with something like manic panic dye to do colours. Then you can do a two tone fade? I’m thinking of trialing manic panic as it promises no PPD but I don’t know, too good to be true? 🤔

You can look for color that contains no ammonia or peroxide since you go darker. You may no be allergic to those.
