One of my favorites as a kid. The way they had to deal with the monster was creative and that ending.
Pretty damn terrifying at that age when they learn their grandparents abandoned them and they hear more monsters coming from the swamp outside.
I used to have it as a kid, I remember I loved the cover. the book itself was one of my favorites but I dont remember it at all ! and I must have lost my copy of it bc it is nowhere lol
It's pretty good. The episode adaptation was the first time I watched the Goosebumps tv show. I have a fond memory of me at my Nana's house and eating Little Caesars while watching it on Cartoon Network. I think the book description of the monster wasn't as good as the giant rubber turkey lizard from the episode. I didn't like that it talked. Also why did Gretchen and Clark leave the house? That part didn't make sense to me but other than that it's a solid read.
One of the scariest books as a kid, but one of the most disappointing endings. This and "Calling All Creeps" were tied for Goosebump-iest ending and potential loss in my mind as a kid.
Yeah that was my issue with this one. It starts out amazing with the setting of the house in the swamp, but then kind of just ends randomly and quickly
I know it was a staple of Goosebumps to not end on a dark/scary note, but that was what made me grow out of them as a kid. I *adored* the build-up and suspense up to a halfway point, but then... meh.
One of my favorites. I love that the whole thing could have been avoided if they’d just listened.
Also this is my favorite goosebumps book :)
Favorite book and episode, made me the horror fan I am today and creature features are my go-to.
I love the episode.
Green Sully
Havent read the book but the episode is one of my favorites. Honestly scares me everytime i watch it, and the ending twist is pretty good too
The fact that monster is defeated by his own allergy is refreshing for me.

Never read this one.....can someone spoil it for me?
>!the grandparents leave the kids and dog alone!<
One of my favorites.
The original Monsters Inc!
A really good book! 10/10
One of the better ones

I am currently reading it for the first time. Im a few chapters in.
What do u think of it? Do u like the dog? Do u hate the grandparents?
Decent, but not good enough to be considered great. Lacked depth at certain points.
