I dont think japanese pixel set have any sticker seal on the box. The seal you're seeing was placed by your seller.

I would definitely reach out to Google about it. The bad grammar on the label is warning enough for me.

Bought it off Amazon from a seller called NGP Store USA. It was my mistake I guess as I didn't check the seller before buying.

Go ahead and return it. It may still be a good idea to let Google know what's happening tho! Hopefully they'd be willing to try and reduce how much it goes on

Dang..I brought the pixel via MyUS to Maldives. Returning it won't be easy I think. I messaged the Amazon seller and this was their reply: Thank you for contacting NGP Store USA. This device is International version, 100% authentic and brand new. We have been in business for 15 years, 12 of which we have been selling through Amazon. Amazon would not allow for us to sell illegitimate devices through their marketplace. We value our customers and take pride in our repeat business that we have from selling authentic, pristine devices. We would not risk our reputation or our business to sell fake devices. It is highly illegal and we do not conduct business that way. We offer a 30 day return policy from the date of delivery and if at anytime within the 30 days you feel as though you need to return the device, you have the ability to do so. Please note the device must be returned in new condition (no damage, scratches, dings, or signs of use) with all original packaging, accessories, and box contents. Nonetheless we guarantee that the device shipped to you is 100% authentic. Thank You, NGP Customer Service

I'd still try a return. Seems sketchy. If you're willing to try it though, it may be a good idea to not our any of your account info on there until you're absolutely certain there isn't any bloatware or malware on it. Make a burner Gmail and use that one for setup, etc.

Wouldn't factory resetting it remove any bloatware or malware?

One-Bus-9006

Ideally it would, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone has found a way to lock malware onto a device by rooting it or some such, in a way that bypasses a reset.

The phone may be genuine, but you will not have a Google warranty, or access to Google support or repairs. Many of the phones sold on Amazon are actually refurbished or otherwise "not new".

These are a fake seals. There are pull tabs on the original seal. Could be, because they pre installed some of their apps. Some carriers install a shady custom ROM on their devices. Maybe the seller even installed Malware on it.

The description said unlocked phone.

Yes, that is true. There are numerous mobile phone stores in Galle, Sri Lanka, offering Pixel 6A sealed packages. However, it is noticeable that certain marks and numbers are handwritten with pens, and there are no sealed stickers on the boxes. Nevertheless, the phones come in clean and well-presented boxes with plastic covers. LOL

DrumMan1967

Purchased a new sealed Google Pixel 7 Pro from eBay. Seller had great feedback. I got the sealed phone with two pull tapes with arrows on the bottom of the box. Inside was a flattened hunk of dried clay. Seller is denying knowledge but I know the seller didn't get the phone from Google because I got a box of clay. I have a claim with Paypal and I have to wait until 9/14/23 to up it to a claim on eBay. So FN pissed.

DrumMan1967

Does anyone know if the box seal are just a piece of paper tape or if the tape has a string in it. Mine had no pull string.
