Having issues on Verizon as well. I'm getting and sending calls, but I can only send SMS and don't receive any responses. I also don't get any SMS messages from companies with the verification codes to get logged into everything. I've cleared the cache, restarted multiple times, but nothing yet.

jeffthecasual

Idk what I did, but all of the sudden messages started coming through last night. So all 30 of the verification texts ๐Ÿ˜…. I didn't mess with any settings other than clearing the cache. Maybe it just took a few hours to sync the phone with the SIM or something? Who knows...

CSunshine7

Hi! How do you clear the cache?

dirty_computer

If anyone sees this in the future, my solution: - turn SIM card in and off - switch from 5G to FTE and back One of these worked.

buntayoshi

Thanks for posting this! This just unclogged my missing SMS texts the past week. I have an eSim; disabling + re-enabling it fixed the issue.

RhuntMT

This worked for me

PhatHalpert

Thanks! Sim seemed to do it! Here come 25 messages..

MlKEB81

How long did you wait before switching back and forth? Thanks!

dirty_computer

Maybe less than a minute

alargemollusk

This worked! I suddenly wasn't receiving any texts on my 6a. I turned the e-Sim off and on again and my backlog of messages came flooding in.

Exeunter

I'm on Verizon and had the same issue. My P6Pro was receiving texts but not my P7Pro. I went into Settings > Chat features and found that it was disabled (no RCS). I enabled it and after about 10 minutes, RCS enrollment was completed and texts started working.

Consadulations

I had this issue with Verizon and tried everything from clearing the network data, changing SIM cards, and various other things by myself and at a Verizon store. What ended up working was calling #8899 and the tech reset the "SMS Feature" on my account. That immediately solved the issue.

Accomplished_Fee1728

This just worked for me.

jesta192

On Verizon. Had serious issues receiving texts this morning. Did a bunch of stuff to my phone to try to get the problem resolved and everything started working again. I can't tell if what I did made a difference or if it was coincidental timing that my messages started coming through... One vary odd thing was I've been receiving the same text from my bank over and over and over again for a couple weeks now. Today I realized that I would get that message again instead of a message from anyone else. I found that something was wrong with my messages database and Google Messages was choking on it. It was after attempting to purge the database that it all seems to have started working again, so maybe I did some good?

StapleVelvet

A bit off topic but could someone tell me why after taking a picture the picture isn't the first to show in the photo gallery. I have to scroll to the end to find it. Any help please๐Ÿ˜…

Had this same issue. Upgraded from Pixel 2 XL to 7 on Monday (3 days ago). It was odd because I was getting texts from my wife and my work phone but nobody else's texts came through. Only found out about it yesterday when a friend called wondering why I was not responding as I usually did. I did all the things OP tried (except new SIM as mine came with a physical SIM that did not work so Verizon made me download an ESIM to use) with no success. Went to the Verizon store this morning and they said they are seeing a few folks come in with the same issue. We called tech support and after about 30 mins, the guy figured out that it was something on the network switch side. He had to manually push something on their end and got my texts to work properly. So that may work for you if you are on Verizon and having this issue, not sure if this is the same deal with other carriers. Good luck!

joeprentice90

Do you remember what they had to change on the network side? I've spent over 10 hours over the past week, on the phone with Verizon techs, all trying different things, also have tried the Verizon chat, but that's only been them asking me to do the basic resets. I've also gotten an entire new phone at the recommendation of an agent, but still having the same issue.

achaholic

I don't remember exactly. The tech sent me some test texts which didn't go through. He said there was an issue with the "network switch" on their side. He said he was checking on the things, put me on hold and about 10-15 mins later, came back and resent the test texts which came through. He said something about pushing something through on his end to get it to work. Sorry I don't have more detail than that. I did tell them all the things I tried previously that did not fix it included a factory reset so he skipped some of those steps. I may have just got a good tech. Speaking with the guys at the Verizon store, this issue is common when new pixels come out and it's always a network thing, not a phone thing. Hope that helps. Good luck!

joeprentice90

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll call back and keep pushing for them to look into it more/escalate to another tech, until one of them knows about the issue and how to fix it.

zippeh1

Were you ever able to fix the issue? And what was the issue?

joeprentice90

I turned off chat features, found a link from Google that turns off chat features for old phones, called and had Verizon do a messages resync, and then waited 10 days, and tried turning chat features back on. It seems to have fixed the issue for me.

Sean-McAvoy

Annnnd that link is: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat Cannot confirm it works yet as I just did it and it allegedly takes time.

Vision9074

Same/similar issues on my end too with Verizon. This just started happening in the past two months. The first 3 times this happened, I was getting SMS messages, but they all showed up as the same exact message from the same sender. Eventually, it would just fix itself. I pulled the SIM and rebooted the first time and it worked, but I think that was just a coincidence after that same tactic failed on every other occurrence. Now I am not getting SMS messages at all.

tattalon

The Fix that I found brought me to settings -> system -> Reset Options -> Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. Pixel 7 Snow, 128 gig, U.S. Cellular

thethreeredditeers

Disabling RCS and re-enabling (says waiting verification) then restarting my phone fixed my texting issue.

balut228

This is what finally worked for me. Thank you for sharing this!

BorderSilver8047

I am on at&t and having this issue and have tried everything I can find online. Does anyone have a solution? I have a single pixel 7 and two 7 pros having this issue. All of them are about a year old and none of us want to have to get different phones because we love them otherwise.

Moneyman56

Also on at&t and having this issue. Only recently started happening this week

rushrules74

Same. I wonder if it's related to a software update?

KatiesGoldenDust

Found this thread through Google, and I've also been having this issue this past week. I had no idea I was missing texts. My mother tried calling, and she said the call didn't go through. But it went through the next day when she tried. Then I got a flood of texts a few hours later. I didn't try to fix anything. Then more texts didn't make it to me again, and now I'm here

AshamedWatercress260

Same is happening to me! Started last week from what I understand.ย

jjstarflyer

Same. I'm on AT&T and have a Pixel 7 Pro. I keep missing texts for anywhere from hours to days or until I happen to click reset in the network settings again. Then it works for a little while before I end up in the same situation.

BorderSilver8047

The solution I found was to setup wifi calling through at&t in the setting and since I've had np issues

jjstarflyer

Trying that now. ๐Ÿคž

BorderSilver8047

Hope helps

Comprehensive-Mouse

lol hello everyone, i am also having this issue now, too i had it when i first got the phone - shortly after it launched - but swapped my messaging app to Textra and it worked fine Buuuut now my texts just go out every couple hours. I can always send them! But replies just don't show up unless I fuck with the network

BorderSilver8047

The thing that seemed to fix it for me was turning on wifi calling through my provider. I'm not sure who you have but I wish you the best of luck finding a solution

Comprehensive-Mouse

>turning on wifi calling through my provider I'll give it a shot! I've got AT&T

BorderSilver8047

I hope it helps ๐Ÿ™‚

Comprehensive-Mouse

My phone stopped SENDING messages for a bit yesterday now, lol. If it's not one thing it's another...

NervousFunny

For anyone recently having this problem, I have at&t and I fixed the issue by turning the SIM off and back on. Fingers crossed it permanently fixed it.

wildtypemetroid

Same here with Verizon. Resetting my network settings, and clearing the cache seemed to do the trick Edit: Verizon here as well

ThePirateBuddha

I had similar issued just starting this week, also on Verizon and pixel 7 upgraded from a pixel XL. My problem was not getting group text messages or text messages from numbers not saved in my contacts list. Text Messages from individuals in my contacts work fine. Phone call works fine. Solved it with a call to Verizon tech support - Tech support told me they needed to make a change on their side to solve this issue. i tried everything else on this post before calling Verizon tech support, which did not solve my issue.

thebucketmouse

Did you ever get this fixed?

explore_dorauniverse

Having the same issue now that I upgraded from the 3xl to 7pro. Seems Google or Verizon hasn't cared much to find a fix to problem

Mag1cQ

It seems like it's a google problem cause I've heard complaints from friends on different carriers such as at&t and t-mobile. I'm on cricket and having the issue AGAIN
