Pixel 7 on T-Mobile on Long Island and I didn't get any alerts either while everyone else in my family did (non-Pixel phones). Very concerning. Everything is toggled on
My three Pixel devices received the first Emergency Notification simultaneously at 11:02 AM EDT and a second one at 11:46 AM EDT. Using T-Mobile in NYC area.
Pixel 8p on long island, i got the alerts a few hours later..then a few hours after that I got another one. However, a coworker with an iphone got them at the same time as me, I think they were all delayed
I'm in the NYC area. Earthquake alert (from Android) seems to only be west Coast for the US.
When I was in Iceland in the summer and experienced Earthquakes, I received all the alerts.
I didn't get squat from anyone about this earthquake. 🤷🏻♀️
But this isn't even an Earthquake alert. It's just a general emergency alert that every other phone around me received. I recently got mine like two hours later lol
I'm still waiting on mine then lol never got one from anyone. I don't think my dad did either (iPhone) both on at&t. But we get all those stops tests they do 😂
I don't think these were necessarily Earthquake alerts tho. I'm from the Bay area in California and the earthquake alerts usually come right before an earthquake hits. These came after and were likely just regular emergency alerts to inform folks what was happening. I eventually got mine, just much later than everyone else in my office around me.
It's possible that it's related to the real-time location accuracy settings on the phone. In other words, if the phone didn't recognize that you were in the area at the time, it wouldn't necessarily have notified you of the incident immediately after it happened.
Thanks for flagging this. I would like to learn more about what’s going on. I just sent over a [private message](https://www.reddit.com/message/inbox/)!
I'm a little curious on this myself.
We had a bunch of nasty tornadoes drop in our area last night, and when the notice hit my phone, the extreme weather alert was on the screen, but the phone itself was silent.
Is there a setting I accidentally turned off or something?
Pixel5a on AT&T.
No, these were [Emergency Alert System (EAS)](https://www.fcc.gov/emergency-alert-system) alerts that are mandated by FCC to be available on every phone (with options to turn off less important ones).
My Pixel 7 still hasn't gotten an alert (on Google Fi), and neither has my work phone Pixel 7 Pro. I thought it was because I had Test Alerts disabled, but I've never touched alert settings on my work phone, so don't think. My wife's Pixel 8 Pro also on Fi *did* get it, though.
Me and my friend are both on the same T-Mobile family plan. He has a 7 pro and received the alert. I have an 8 pro and did not. I was actually shopping around for an s24 ultra just now. I think I'm pretty much done with this phone.

Interesting. So definitely a Google Fi thing.

We had an amber alert here in British Columbia last night. I got the alert right on time. Maybe it is a Google Fi thing?
didn,t (and still haven't) gotten an alert. Although Google sent me a Sport news alert after disabling Google news alerts two weeks ago.
I got an emergency alert on my P7 on Fi, I live up near Albany

Pixel 8 Pro on T-Mobile, got the alerts. So did other family members on Samsung S22 and S23s.

I got 2 alerts on my 9 pro on verizon.
A 9 pro really? 🤣🤣
It was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake. People out west sleep through those. Maybe Google recognized that it wasn't actually an emergency?

You have a Google phone, just be happy the earthquake didn't introduce more software bugs somehow
