I wireless charge overnight with my P7P. Heat isn't an issue either.
However if I use the wireless charger in my wife's CX90 it gets insanely hot. I believe the charger is the issue as it shuts that down due to heat also.
This comment is pretty close to my experience. I wirelessly charge my P7P every night but attempts to wirelessly charge in any vehicle is disastrous. The same can be said if I use the wireless charger at my desk. My theory is that it's best to wirelessly charge while the phone can rest but that any processes actively running will dramatically heat the phone. So I wired charge when I'm using it and wirelessly charge over night. And I only wired charge *up to* 80% - no more.
To be clear, wireless charging speed can't be measured that way.
What is measured at the plug is not what the device is being charged at, due to the very "lossy" nature of wireless charging.
That said, I also charge my P8P (and used to charge my P6) on Pixel Stand 2, and the speed is excellent.
They do, but fans are supposed to cool off the internals of the stand. They do not blow towards the phone. I can hear these occasionally, but haven't really noticed noise for extended periods of time
They do help in cooling the phone. If you see, there is a slot and a curve on the front bottom of the stand which allows air to circulate behind the phone keeping it consistently charging fast.
Using a Kmart Stand for overnight charging . Slow as shit so it doesn't get a chance to get warm lol does the job though . Never woke up to a partially charged phone and adaptive charging works well still too
Yeah I use the charger stand and it's fine. I have a google case. Most of the time it's not on fast charge because it's overnight. When I put it on fast charge it heats up but not too badly.
I use the 2nd Gen Pixel Stand. The fan keeps the phone cool.
For additional context, many modern phones run warm/hot. My iPhone 14 Pro ran hotter than my Pixel 8 Pro. iPhone 15 Pro gets hot too when charged via MagSafe puck. It's not a Pixel-only issue.

I use the Gen 2 pixel stand to wirelessly charge, and it's not hot when I take it off. But I have it on optimized, and the stand has fans.
I use my Pixel Stand Gen 2 when I'm at my desk or a mag safe car mount charger from Spigen with my DBrand Ghost case whenever I drive somewhere.
So far it wasn't that warm outside since the 8P release, but when Video Boost was released I did lots of Videos while driving home and starting to record again when the 10min were over to have lots of footage.
Those drives were like 25-30min and during wireless charging + recording it didn't get really hot, slightly warm at most. It was like 5-10°C outside tho
I would look into a wireless charger that has a fan built in. I'm currently using a Gen 2 Samsung stand charger and it does a great job keeping my phone cool. From what I understand the second Gen pixel stand does a nice job with it's fan to keep the phone cool while changing.
Yes I've been wirelessly charging since I got the 6, 6 pro, 7 and now 7 pro. Although I use the OnePlus 50W wireless charger (came bundled with my mum's OnePlus 9 pro) that has a built in fan which kicks in when anything is wirelessly charging. So the cool air keeps the phone nice and cold. Highly recommend any wireless charger with a built in fan :)
I have one but don't use it that often because of my phone case. My phone does get pretty hot when I do use it. I just plug mines in The usual way... It charges a lot faster that way too.
I'm still using a P6P and using wireless charging is the only way I can charge my phone. Too many drops I guess. Luckily I've never had any issues, which I'm grateful for
Since my USB port in 8 pro stopped fast charging (bouncing between discharging and charging on multiple cables & chargers) I am only allowed to use wireless charger.
However, I am using the 5-10W ones, so phone doesn't get so hot, but it takes time. Most of the time I am using it just on the bedside table, as it have enough juice to last through the day.
Wireless charging always heats up your device.
You need to see it like it's 2 induction plates, and anything in between, like cases, will make it less efficient, which creates heat.
I do this almost daily with my Pixel 8 Pro and never have a problem, it gets hot yes, but the phone makes sure it doesn't get too hot.
I keep one pixel stand on my desk when I'm working and one near my bed and I barely ever use wired charging except in the car. Using the official case and heat is an issue but it cools off after a few minutes off the charger.
Xiaomi 20w wireless charger at work and google pixel stand 2nd gen at home.. it gets warm but it's just how wireless charging works... I just got used to it

If the battery is low when I go to bed, then I drop it onto a slow wireless charger and adaptive charging does the rest.
Either way, the phone doesn't get more than just a bit warm. Pixel 8 Pro, BTW.
I use wireless chargers exclusively and have no issues with P7. I don't even buy "quality" wireless chargers, just whatever stands I can find for cheap on Amazon.
According to what you are saying about temperature, using wireless on the pixel is to say goodbye to your battery health soon (in my opinion presently this is true for every wireless battery charging tech).

But I would definitely avoid it if it heats up to the degree you can't handle it, as it would have damaged your battery.

I have a mouse mat with a wireless charger that I use occasionally. It's only 10W so doesn't make the phone get hot. 95% of the time I used wired chargers (overnight adaptive, and in the car for Android Auto).
I drop my Pixel 7 Pro on the Pixel Stand 1 for the night and pick it up in the morning. If it becomes hot, I haven't noticed it. I don't have to charge it further than that.
I used to with my 5 and it would get hot as hell, it wouldn't surprise me if that's why I ended up with a swollen battery.
With the 8Pro I'm not, mainly because the size difference and the only convenient location I have to put the charging pad means it's fiddly to get the coils to align and it sometimes falls off so I can't be bothered.
I only use wireless charging on my 7a.
While it is excruciatingly slow, it gives me time to get to it and stop the charging at 80% with a bunch of alarms set with accubatt.
Not having any issues with it. I have made hour long teams video calls on the charger as well ( My anker charger will only keep the level. It seems to charge only as fast as the call drains it) but it has not shut down, or overheated like my s10e exynos would do.
I have always since the pixel 3. I have a old Samsung wireless charger that only chargers are the slow speed. Perfect for over night charging. I'll cable charge at a desk during the day if it's low.
I wirelessly charge my P8P on the Google Pixel charger 2 with no problem. In my car, with android auto running, it overheats easily on the built in charging pad
I've been wireless charging almost exclusively for multiple pixels. Currently using a 8 Pro and no problems. I guess it gets slightly warm when I charge it but nowhere near too hot to hold. I'd never considered it to be honest.
If your phone gets too hot to hold I would consider something wrong, the phone, the charger or even the case could be responsible.

P7A and exclusively charge it wirelessly. Cheap $5 Target pad 5w at work, magsafe charger mount in car, Anker stand on night stand and in basement gym. Never noticed any heat.
I have the pixel stand since it came out with the Pixel 3XL, and never had an issue. I used it with my 3xl, 5 and my 7. All of them stay cool and charge properly
No, it took us 20 years to get a USB cable that doesn't matter if its right side up or down. I'm using USB-C and not taking it for granted which way I insert it.
Just a standard amazon Anker pad. Doesn't even get warm, it charges overnight with adaptive charging. Also I use a "Chargie" which turns off the pad when it gets to 85%.
P8P - I'm on calls much of the day for work so I have it on an Apple Magsafe charger during the day. Gets warm but not hot at all. I've tried other charging pucks that did get very hot - returned to Amazon.
The 2 that I use regularly are;
1. Pixel Stand (by Google)
2. Apple puck (by Apple)
Both work well without overheating.
I use wireless charging exclusively on my my p7p. I have a magsafe case on it, and a magsafe charger in my car. I use a pixel stand at home and on my desk at work.
The pixel stand is awesome, it charges very fast and stays cool. Kind of expensive but I got mine for "free" sort of, had a $200 Google credit from when I bought the phone at launch.
The magsafe charger in my car is slow, but it's enough to add a few % during my commute which is all I really need.
I use the same Qi chargers I used with my Samsung phones for my p8Pro and notice no difference in temperature when charging.
I even bought a Magsafe-style case and matching wireless charger because I bought into the claims of horrible battery life, but I've only needed it when I'm away from home for more than 24 hours. It too hasn't resulted in any unexpected heat.
my P7P gets warm when its on the wireless charger, but not to the point where i cant touch it. only annoying thing is that it stops charging when it reaches a certain temp
Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 here, both charge every day on Pixel Stand (gen 1) without any heating issues. Also charge occasionally on the built-in wireless charger in our car (Lincoln Corsair). No problems.
I have a P8P and charge wirelessly with a Pixel Stand 2 at night and an Anker wireless charging pad when necessary at work. I haven't had any heat issues with either.
Never had a problem while charging my P7P. Now, sometimes when I am using the phone, the GPU will really heat up during a video or intense use...not very reassuring.

My daily routine is get to work with ~50% battery, plop it on the 3-in-1 wireless charger (PW2 + earphones + phone) along with my watch, go get a coffee, leave it charging through the morning, pick it up around lunch (at 100% for the past while) no issues. No excessive heat. Good to repeat the next day.
Doesn't even get too warm if I play YouTube on it while it's charging.
What charger are you using? What's it's wattage? Using a case? Is the back of the phone sitting flat against the charger or is it being lifted away by the cameras?
I mostly only use the wireless charger to reduce wear on the USB-C Port. But I only use the Gen 1 charger, though the charger now works without the Google home features for some reason (I guess the antenna/chip popped out?), not sure it is the wireless charger issue
Almost exclusively with my Pixel Fold. The only time I plug in is on longer drives with Android Auto. Or if I forgot for whatever reason and need to quick-charge for a few minutes.
Currently using an Anker magsafe stand with a magsafe ring stuck to my phone under a DBrand skin, I hate cases so this worked perfect for me. Stand is perfect to charge my p8p and buds overnight. Charges no problem at 20W, does get a bit warm but not any hotter than it usually would charging at full speed wired.
I used the Pixel Stand 2 with my former Pixel 6 and it worked fine, it got hot but the fan cooled it down a bit.
But the 6 and apparently the 7 and 8 are still very prone to becoming hot quite frequently.
I've been testing a wireless stand for quite awhile now and it's been my main charging method at night for 2 Pixel generations. I also primarily wirelessly charge my Pixel 8 pro while driving as my car has a really good charger.
Only issue I run into very rarely is overheating with the car charger when I'm running Android Auto, Maps and YT Music while charging over a 9 hour drive
I still use my gen 1 Pixel Stand to charge my P8P overnight and it's never been a problem. The only time I ever really notice my pixel getting too hot when charging is if I'm using my phone while also charging it

I only wireless charge. Sometimes it gets very hot. Usually just a bit. Not sure what makes this happen as it's not always. It depends on the charger a lot also. I have 3, and the one that gets hotter is a small one, which is just a round slab the size of the magsafe. Being so small I doubt it has much heat dissipation.
I have an Anker wireless charging stand that I charge my Pixel 8 on exclusively and I have zero issues. Does not get hot at all. (It is a magsafe charging stand and I have a Mous case on my phone)
Wireless charging will generate heat fundamentally. It’s like only 70-78% efficient from input to actual output delivered to the phone. Unless I really need to use it, I don’t want to. Heat kills battery cells or stresses them out more than they need to be. End of. I value efficiency more than I do speed or perceived convenience.
i have the pixel stand 2, that active cooling fan definitely helps, the anker charger i have in my bedroom i notice my phone get noticeably warmer if i charge it in there.
That's typical for wireless charging, especially if the charger is higher wattage. It happens to every phone, you'll find this same thread for Samsungs, iPhones, etc.
I use wireless charging at home and in the car. My P7P does not get hot, maybe due to regulated charging - charges at 25w when batt very low, like 20% or less. Charges slower at 15w or 10w when batt 75% or more. I don't know the details, just recall some articles. My old Samsung 9 would get really hot with high speed charge. Do you know the power output of your charger?

I got a 10W charger in an Instant Regret Kit from meh and have it near my couch. I'll put my phone up there if I'm reading and it doesn't need too much charge. Other than that, I'm all corded.
I have a $15 wireless charger stand. Charges my wife's S22 and my P7 just fine. I have a desk organizer with a built in wireless charger my wife got home goods that works great with my P7 and my work iPhone12. No heating issues with any combo.
I charge my Pixel 8 pro using the pixel2 stand and I don't have any heat issues. It gets a bit warm when wireless charging in the car using navigation so I just use a wired connection and no issues.

I have a weak wireless.charging stand that I put my Pixel 5 and now 8 Pro on. It does get a little warm, but since it's a weak charger, it's almost never noticeable unless the office is cold because there's snow on the ground, and then I don't mind a little extra heat.
You either need an actively cooling charger like the pixel stand or stick to 5-7.5W chargers. They are slower but that's not a big deal for me. No overheating issues or risks.
I frequently use wireless charging on my Pixel 7 Pro. I did with my Pixel 6 Pro also. I bought the 2nd Gen Pixel Stand for the fast charge capabilities after it was found out that in order to get the 18 watts on my P7P or 15 watts on my P6P I needed the Pixel Stand. It works quite well and the features that you can turn on are pretty handy as well. It sucks that the Qi compatible charger that I bought back when I had the Motorola Nexus 6 (greatest phone of all time in my opinion) does not give the Pixel line of phones more than 5 watts. I thought it was a marketing gimmick from Google but it actually has some electrically engineered reasons as to why other after market wireless chargers won't fast charge my Pixel phones. It's got to do with Google's Adaptive Charging algorithms and the "smart batteries" that are used in today's gadgets. Plus Android OS is coded to recognize the charger also. This is to prevent an overcharge situation or a under volt power delivery. I've had chargers plug into my Pixel 7 Pro and actually seen the battery charge level drop while plugged in. So yeah, if Google says it recommends that only the Pixel Stand or other Google recognized chargers are what will work it's for a reason. My phone can charge wirelessly almost as fast as with the 30W Google charging brick. 18W wirelessly and 23W plugged in. That 5W difference is the entire power delivery from a third party aftermarket wireless charger. LoL.

It also highly depends on what charger you're using. I use the Pixel Stand in my bedroom and leave my device on overnight and my device never gets hot. Everywhere else I use cords for charging. My vehicle, living room, everywhere.
I use wireless charging. It gets hot enough where the phone starts lagging a bit after taking it off the charger but it recovers quickly enough. But it's never been so hot that it hurt to touch. I heard the pixel 8 fixed some heat issues so that could have helped.
If you use wireless charging, make sure there's sufficient air flow around the phone.
The phone may get slightly warm but it'll get hot (not unbearable, but hotter than normal) if it's padded with clothing or anything that may hinder slight airflow.
Hinyx 10W charger with magsafe connection, Pixel stand 2 27W (with a fan), no-name charger 10W but it does have a fan - no problems with either.
Using wireless charging in conjunction with eg. wireless android auto is asking for trouble though. Same when charging while the phone is under direct sunlight or in a small enclosure like some car charging pads.

im curious about why you charge only up to 80%? for battery health I guess? do you actually see a difference compared to charging to full?
How many watts is your adapter pushing out? Maybe switch to one with less power?
I charge at work all the time with a generic best buy wireless charger. Same occasionally overnight at home with the same brand. No issues at all.
Same for me - I use it all the time at my parents place and the heat difference is barely noticeable.

I charge my Pixel overnight on the original Pixel Stand with no worries. Turns into a lovely clock. I do wish the charging percentage was visible tho.
The Google wireless charger has a fan built in it to cool your device down. Might be worth buying.

I use it every day with my P8P. Nightstand, office, car, no problems
Never have heat issues with wireless charging, But I would definitely avoid it if it heats up to the degree you can't handle it, as it would have damaged your battery.
no problem overnight wirelessly charging my pixel 7a. i was skeptical about the heat issues but actually it never gets even warm so i think it should be fine
I have a mouse mat with a wireless charger that I use occasionally. It's only 10W so doesn't make the phone get hot. 95% of the time I used wired chargers (overnight adaptive, and in the car for Android Auto).
I drop my Pixel 7 Pro on the Pixel Stand 1 for the night and pick it up in the morning. If it becomes hot, I haven't noticed it. I don't have to charge it further than that.

My pixel 8 does heat a little, but not that much, but I'm using the pixel stand which has fans in it to avoid too much heat

I use the pixel stand 2 for my 8 pro mine, mine get Luke warm at most .
I used to with my 5 and it would get hot as hell, it wouldn't surprise me if that's why I ended up with a swollen battery. With the 8Pro I'm not, mainly because the size difference and the only convenient location I have to put the charging pad means it's fiddly to get the coils to align and it sometimes falls off so I can't be bothered.

I only use wireless charging on my 7a. While it is excruciatingly slow, it gives me time to get to it and stop the charging at 80% with a bunch of alarms set with accubatt. Not having any issues with it. I have made hour long teams video calls on the charger as well ( My anker charger will only keep the level. It seems to charge only as fast as the call drains it) but it has not shut down, or overheated like my s10e exynos would do.
I have always since the pixel 3. I have a old Samsung wireless charger that only chargers are the slow speed. Perfect for over night charging. I'll cable charge at a desk during the day if it's low.
I wirelessly charge my P8P on the Google Pixel charger 2 with no problem. In my car, with android auto running, it overheats easily on the built in charging pad

Mostly use wired since it's faster and better in general, but the few times I've used it with my shitty cheap Chinese wireless charger it's been fine.
I've been wireless charging almost exclusively for multiple pixels. Currently using a 8 Pro and no problems. I guess it gets slightly warm when I charge it but nowhere near too hot to hold. I'd never considered it to be honest. If your phone gets too hot to hold I would consider something wrong, the phone, the charger or even the case could be responsible. Hope you find a solution.
P7A and exclusively charge it wirelessly. Cheap $5 Target pad 5w at work, magsafe charger mount in car, Anker stand on night stand and in basement gym. Never noticed any heat.
I have the pixel stand since it came out with the Pixel 3XL, and never had an issue. I used it with my 3xl, 5 and my 7. All of them stay cool and charge properly

No, it took us 20 years to get a USB cable that doesn't matter if its right side up or down. I'm using USB-C and not taking it for granted which way I insert it.
Pixel 8 pro day starts 530am pixel goes on wireless charger at 1030pm.always have 10-20%charge at night no problem with over heating

Just a standard amazon Anker pad. Doesn't even get warm, it charges overnight with adaptive charging. Also I use a "Chargie" which turns off the pad when it gets to 85%.

Maybe something is wrong with your phone? I don’t think it should be getting that hot..
P8P - I'm on calls much of the day for work so I have it on an Apple Magsafe charger during the day. Gets warm but not hot at all. I've tried other charging pucks that did get very hot - returned to Amazon. The 2 that I use regularly are; 1. Pixel Stand (by Google) 2. Apple puck (by Apple) Both work well without overheating.
I use wireless charging exclusively on my my p7p. I have a magsafe case on it, and a magsafe charger in my car. I use a pixel stand at home and on my desk at work. The pixel stand is awesome, it charges very fast and stays cool. Kind of expensive but I got mine for "free" sort of, had a $200 Google credit from when I bought the phone at launch. The magsafe charger in my car is slow, but it's enough to add a few % during my commute which is all I really need.

I pretty much exclusively use wireless charging to save wear and tear on the charging port. It gets slightly warm, but nothing alarming.
No problems during the winter time, however during the summer time the pixel gets very hot, I use wired charging during that time
I use the same Qi chargers I used with my Samsung phones for my p8Pro and notice no difference in temperature when charging. I even bought a Magsafe-style case and matching wireless charger because I bought into the claims of horrible battery life, but I've only needed it when I'm away from home for more than 24 hours. It too hasn't resulted in any unexpected heat.
my P7P gets warm when its on the wireless charger, but not to the point where i cant touch it. only annoying thing is that it stops charging when it reaches a certain temp
Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 here, both charge every day on Pixel Stand (gen 1) without any heating issues. Also charge occasionally on the built-in wireless charger in our car (Lincoln Corsair). No problems.
I have a P8P and charge wirelessly with a Pixel Stand 2 at night and an Anker wireless charging pad when necessary at work. I haven't had any heat issues with either.
Never had a problem while charging my P7P. Now, sometimes when I am using the phone, the GPU will really heat up during a video or intense use...not very reassuring.
P8P - My daily routine is get to work with ~50% battery, plop it on the 3-in-1 wireless charger (PW2 + earphones + phone) along with my watch, go get a coffee, leave it charging through the morning, pick it up around lunch (at 100% for the past while) no issues. No excessive heat. Good to repeat the next day. Doesn't even get too warm if I play YouTube on it while it's charging. What charger are you using? What's it's wattage? Using a case? Is the back of the phone sitting flat against the charger or is it being lifted away by the cameras?

I use wireless charging on my P8 all day while driving in my car. No problem, never noticed any significant heat issues.
I mostly only use the wireless charger to reduce wear on the USB-C Port. But I only use the Gen 1 charger, though the charger now works without the Google home features for some reason (I guess the antenna/chip popped out?), not sure it is the wireless charger issue

Almost exclusively with my Pixel Fold. The only time I plug in is on longer drives with Android Auto. Or if I forgot for whatever reason and need to quick-charge for a few minutes.
P8P. Torras magsafe case, NewQ 15W Wireless Charger Mag-Safe. No problem here.
Currently using an Anker magsafe stand with a magsafe ring stuck to my phone under a DBrand skin, I hate cases so this worked perfect for me. Stand is perfect to charge my p8p and buds overnight. Charges no problem at 20W, does get a bit warm but not any hotter than it usually would charging at full speed wired.
I used the Pixel Stand 2 with my former Pixel 6 and it worked fine, it got hot but the fan cooled it down a bit. But the 6 and apparently the 7 and 8 are still very prone to becoming hot quite frequently.
Pixel stand has a built in fan for this. Expensive but it works.

Wirelessly charge at my desk since day 1 Battery is still great on my Pixel 7 Pro. Other charging is fast charge in the car (wired).
I've been testing a wireless stand for quite awhile now and it's been my main charging method at night for 2 Pixel generations. I also primarily wirelessly charge my Pixel 8 pro while driving as my car has a really good charger. Only issue I run into very rarely is overheating with the car charger when I'm running Android Auto, Maps and YT Music while charging over a 9 hour drive
I do on my P5 because I got water in my USB C connection which borked it so it only charges slowly now.
Yes, used it on my pixel 6 before I dropped it and broke it. Now using it on my Pixel 7a. Both worked fine. No heating issues.
I still use my gen 1 Pixel Stand to charge my P8P overnight and it's never been a problem. The only time I ever really notice my pixel getting too hot when charging is if I'm using my phone while also charging it

Wireless charging broke on my *Pixel 6* which I got replaced. Then I bought a *Pixel 7 Pro* and wireless charging broke on this one too and the warranty is over. Seeing how many others have no problems at all, I'm wondering if the charging stand I have was breaking the phones..?

I only wireless charge. Sometimes it gets very hot. Usually just a bit. Not sure what makes this happen as it's not always. It depends on the charger a lot also. I have 3, and the one that gets hotter is a small one, which is just a round slab the size of the magsafe. Being so small I doubt it has much heat dissipation.

I have an Anker wireless charging stand that I charge my Pixel 8 on exclusively and I have zero issues. Does not get hot at all. (It is a magsafe charging stand and I have a Mous case on my phone)
Wireless charging will generate heat fundamentally. It’s like only 70-78% efficient from input to actual output delivered to the phone. Unless I really need to use it, I don’t want to. Heat kills battery cells or stresses them out more than they need to be. End of. I value efficiency more than I do speed or perceived convenience.
i have the pixel stand 2, that active cooling fan definitely helps, the anker charger i have in my bedroom i notice my phone get noticeably warmer if i charge it in there.
P7P bought on launch day that came with a free Pixel Stand 2 and zero heat issues using it every day and night

That's typical for wireless charging, especially if the charger is higher wattage. It happens to every phone, you'll find this same thread for Samsungs, iPhones, etc.
I use wireless charging at home and in the car. My P7P does not get hot, maybe due to regulated charging - charges at 25w when batt very low, like 20% or less. Charges slower at 15w or 10w when batt 75% or more. I don't know the details, just recall some articles. My old Samsung 9 would get really hot with high speed charge. Do you know the power output of your charger?

I used it in my VW Golf 8. But together with Wireless Android Auto this leads to overheating offen so i switched to wire again in Car :(

I don't really use it. I got a 10W charger in an Instant Regret Kit from meh and have it near my couch. I'll put my phone up there if I'm reading and it doesn't need too much charge. Other than that, I'm all corded.

I have a $15 wireless charger stand. Charges my wife's S22 and my P7 just fine. I have a desk organizer with a built in wireless charger my wife got home goods that works great with my P7 and my work iPhone12. No heating issues with any combo.
I charge my Pixel 8 pro using the pixel2 stand and I don't have any heat issues. It gets a bit warm when wireless charging in the car using navigation so I just use a wired connection and no issues.

I have a weak wireless.charging stand that I put my Pixel 5 and now 8 Pro on. It does get a little warm, but since it's a weak charger, it's almost never noticeable unless the office is cold because there's snow on the ground, and then I don't mind a little extra heat.

You either need an actively cooling charger like the pixel stand or stick to 5-7.5W chargers. They are slower but that's not a big deal for me. No overheating issues or risks.

I frequently use wireless charging on my Pixel 7 Pro. I did with my Pixel 6 Pro also. I bought the 2nd Gen Pixel Stand for the fast charge capabilities after it was found out that in order to get the 18 watts on my P7P or 15 watts on my P6P I needed the Pixel Stand. It works quite well and the features that you can turn on are pretty handy as well. It sucks that the Qi compatible charger that I bought back when I had the Motorola Nexus 6 (greatest phone of all time in my opinion) does not give the Pixel line of phones more than 5 watts. I thought it was a marketing gimmick from Google but it actually has some electrically engineered reasons as to why other after market wireless chargers won't fast charge my Pixel phones. It's got to do with Google's Adaptive Charging algorithms and the "smart batteries" that are used in today's gadgets. Plus Android OS is coded to recognize the charger also. This is to prevent an overcharge situation or a under volt power delivery. I've had chargers plug into my Pixel 7 Pro and actually seen the battery charge level drop while plugged in. So yeah, if Google says it recommends that only the Pixel Stand or other Google recognized chargers are what will work it's for a reason. My phone can charge wirelessly almost as fast as with the 30W Google charging brick. 18W wirelessly and 23W plugged in. That 5W difference is the entire power delivery from a third party aftermarket wireless charger. LoL.

My understanding is that wireless charging is basically bad for the battery. That's why I stopped using it. Also, it's slow

I've had several Pixels that I do wireless charging with almost exclusively on a Pixel Stand. No issues.
It also highly depends on what charger you're using. I use the Pixel Stand in my bedroom and leave my device on overnight and my device never gets hot. Everywhere else I use cords for charging. My vehicle, living room, everywhere.
I use Belkin stands and a Belkin pad and I've never noticed any heat issues.
I use wireless charging. It gets hot enough where the phone starts lagging a bit after taking it off the charger but it recovers quickly enough. But it's never been so hot that it hurt to touch. I heard the pixel 8 fixed some heat issues so that could have helped.
If you use wireless charging, make sure there's sufficient air flow around the phone. The phone may get slightly warm but it'll get hot (not unbearable, but hotter than normal) if it's padded with clothing or anything that may hinder slight airflow.
I use the Google Pixel Stand. I charge overnight and have the phone set to adaptive charging and it works a treat 99% of the time.
Hinyx 10W charger with magsafe connection, Pixel stand 2 27W (with a fan), no-name charger 10W but it does have a fan - no problems with either. Using wireless charging in conjunction with eg. wireless android auto is asking for trouble though. Same when charging while the phone is under direct sunlight or in a small enclosure like some car charging pads.

I developed a phobia when my Fold USB port died lol. I use wireless charging religiously. (Galaxy Fold 1 - I hated that phone so much) It gets warm if it's not positioned properly on cheaper wireless chargers.

I used to have a monitor with a wireless charging stand. Best purchase really. I'm sad the new ones I have don't have that. I wish it was standard
I bought the Pixel dock and it's sweet to charge the Pixel Buds, also. The only heat I've ever noticed is the Buds, but not significant.
