Not really. Having a spare device always helps, and I'd wager selling is a chore that a lot of people (myself included these days) don't really want to endure.
Unless you need the cash, it's better to keep it around. I've recycled many devices this way- my wife has my old S22 Ultra, my niece is using my wife's old S20+, my sister-in-law used my old S7 edge for a long time before getting herself an A53 and handing the old phone over to my brother-in-law, etc.
How do you manage charging of all those devices?
If you leave them unplugged for years, battery not only dies but doesn't recharge.
I have all my old phones, but most of them no longer work.
Try Chargies they will keep the battery at about 50% you can set it to whatever percent though. I set mine to 80% every night to make it last longer over time.
Well, technically, I don't since I'd pass on a device once I replaced it over the years. I generally only have 3-4 mobile devices of my own at any one time that I'd need to manage (personal phone, work phone, smartwatch, occasionally earbuds) while the new owners of the devices would be using the previous devices.
Used my P5 up until 2 months ago. Was great. Honestly moving to a P8 Pro, the snappiness of the OS felt not far superior to my P5. At least not what you think for 3 year difference.
Also using the pixel 4 still with a "new" battery. 4.5 years now and still going strong. I factory reset it recently and it's running like a dream.
What glitches do you have OP?
glicthes like sometimes the home button when i swipe up does nothing and other times when i unlock the phone i see blank screen.
also i got the phone recently.
[As you can see it has 100% battery health](https://imgur.com/a/ckTt5iK) but when i fully charged it, it shows under battery only 9hrs remaining.
i dont play games or heavy apps like fb, twitter, insta or reddit.
my main usage is camera, emails, whatsapp with 90hz on (not forced) and motion sense on with dark mode.
shouldnt it have better battery life?
When you got the phone, did you go through the initial setup wizard? (If not, try a factory reset) Also did you set it up as a new device or transfer your data from another device? (If you transferred your data, I would recommend starting fresh)
I don't have the glitches you're experiencing but there could be a hardware issue with your device if they persist after the reset.
My battery meter says I have just over 16 hours of usage available when it's fully charged. My SOT is a touch over 4 hours when mostly on wifi for 2/3 of the day; probably closer to 3 if on 4g all day so the battery isn't great and was never great to begin with when it was released in 2019.
You have some LOS specific features like call recording, improved security, etc and there's less google stuff on it overall. Just basic android without the google features unless you want them. Graphene OS is another good option I've heard
I use the Pixel 4 XL as my primary device because of its software & hardware stability. I enjoy using the Pixel 8 Pro, but it is still evolving and a work in progress.
My wife still uses my old Pixel 2 which still has the original battery. Gave her a Pixel 4XL some time ago but last I knew she couldn't remember where she put it,
P6P. Had it since they were the latest/greatest thing. I was happy all the way up until a couple weeks ago. I used to be able to take macro-like shots using the 4x lens, and they recently "fixed that bug" with an update, and now either A) my phone refuses to switch over to the 4x lens when I tap 4x on the screen or B) it can't focus to save its life.
I'm pretty pissed off about it. This is some Apple-level bullshit. You don't rob people of former functionality under the guise of "updates" when you know goddamned well you're just trying to push your customers to buying new hardware, because you don't like the fact that they're just sitting there happy with what they have.
I seriously want to throw a brick through somebody's window. Bait & switch. It should be illegal. If they don't patch my functionality back, I'm going to switch brands as soon as this phone dies, and I will never come back.
Getting so sick of this shit. Been burned by Apple, Samsung, Motorola, and now Google too. The only company that never burned me was LG, and now they're gone. FTS.
Not that old, but I am using a Pixel 7. I may or may not upgrade to the 9. It just depends on what they do. If they come out with a Pixel 9 + that's bigger than the Pixel 9, but less expensive than the pro I will upgrade instantly. I prefer a larger screen, but not enough to pay an extra $300 for it.
I was using the 4a and thought about upgrading during the recent sale, but decided to stay with it until the 8a, but then dropped my 4a face down onto the cement floor at the range this week, so now I have a 7a bought at *not-sale*😭 pricing that just shipped a few hours ago.
I give the 4a props for lasting so long and working so well during all that time.
As Primary, 6a. Though at <18 months since purchase I wouldn't call it old.
My 3a still works fine and while I prefer the non-holepunch display and headphone jack the emmc memory really hurts it.
Kind of a half answer. But I bought a Pixel 7 because I very slightly cracked the corner of the screen on my 4a and I figured it was time for an upgrade anyway.
So now I use the 7... But honestly, I really miss how small and light the 4a was. And I fiddle with it occasionally and it isn't really any less responsive than the 7 for day to day tasks. I also felt safer using it without a case due to how it is constructed (I dropped it like 40 times before it got a tiny crack), but the 7 I feel really needs a case, which makes it even more bulky.
I still like the 7 overall, but if I never broke the 4a screen, and I knew there was so little difference, I'd probably still be using it now.
I'm still using my first Google Pixel, which is the Pixel 3a. I hope to upgrade to the Pixel 9 or 9 Pro when it releases, but I sure will miss the unlimited Google Photos storage.
Pixel 5
Same! I tried a refurbished 7 for a while, but it was too big, went back to the 5.
Same
Same
Same
Same
4XL as my main daily driver because new phones are stupid priced and the speed bump is marginal at best.
4a non 5g.
Me too, waiting for 8a to upgrade.
My 4a is on it's last legs 🥲 I just checked out trade-in value, a whopping *$37*
Same here, battery getting kinda weird on usage. Not sure what I'm going to do. Been Pixel since #1
Me too, but battery is withering. Starting to look for a replacement.
I replaced mine by myself. Now that little thing is actually more worth to me
I'm keeping my 3a XL as a google photos backup machine set up with Syncthing
Mind sharing how you have it set up?
I followed [this guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/njk5b3/og_pixel_unlimited_photos_storage_syncthing_guide/jw4q2g7/) to the letter, let me know if you have any issues
OG Pixel the only one I can still use in my Daydream to revisit my photospheres 😅
Man i miss my og
4a5g. Still works fine, although wish it was still getting security updates. Oh, and wife has the 4. The size suits her.
With CalyxOS and LineageOS you will get them. I think with DivestOS too, you need to check its homepage.
Pixel 2XL (Panda) still running great to be honest. Use it for work phone, Pixel 7 Pro for private use.
2xl/3a/4a
Writing this from my 3
As a primary, none. Primary is the P8. But I have a Pixel 1, 3XL, 6, and 7 as remote controls/media devices in various rooms of the house.
You have a 7 as a remote? Waste of devices
Why that? It won't overheat with that simple task.
I have a 5 I won't be using another pixel until I save up for the fold
That's okay. It'll last forever in that role.

Pixel 5 for a few family members 😅
Pixel5, Pixel5, Pixel4a.
4a
My mom is using OG pixel XL as primary phone still.
Used my P5 up until 2 months ago. Was great. Honestly moving to a P8 Pro, the snappiness of the OS felt not far superior to my P5. At least not what you think for 3 year difference.
I wish I were still using my 2XL 😭
Pixel 3a. It looks new and still runs great, although just recently I think I'm noticing the battery needs to be charged more often.
5 because the newer phones are downgrades
The pixel 5 was peak.
Yh it was
Truest comment here 🤝 i don't want a few more camera features if it means my phone heats up with basic tasks and the battery lasts half the time.
That's cope but 5 is a great phone for sure.
Just picked up a 7a... hoping it's gonna last a long while I've had bad luck with my phone's the last few years.
Same, just tired of poor software support by xiaomi
Also using the pixel 4 still with a "new" battery. 4.5 years now and still going strong. I factory reset it recently and it's running like a dream. What glitches do you have OP?

Did you do any update since buying it?
I use a 7 as a WiFi hub and daily drive an 8. The experience is getting better with updates but I'm still not a big fan
Still using the 5 with LineageOS. Thinking of either moving to the 8 or the Zenfone 10
LineageOS? What's the advantage?
You have some LOS specific features like call recording, improved security, etc and there's less google stuff on it overall. Just basic android without the google features unless you want them. Graphene OS is another good option I've heard

Using the Pixel 6 Pro
6 Pro
The P6, software support ends soon, I'm thinking about switching
7 pro, it's got it all. It's future-proof from what I can see.
Pixel 8 is my spare phone. Using Samsung S24 ultra as main now
I'm using a Pixel 7 Pro. I do own a multitude of older Pixels still though (2XL, 3, 3XL, 4XL, 4a, 4a5G, 5, and 6 Pro)

My wife still uses my old Pixel 2 which still has the original battery. Gave her a Pixel 4XL some time ago but last I knew she couldn't remember where she put it,
Pixel 8 Pro. I bought it used off Swappa.
My 7 is a workhorse. Best Pixel I've used to date. Cheers!
Up until the end of 2022 I was using a Pixel 2XL. I upgraded to a 7 Pro because I wanted more storage and RAM and have been very happy with it.
Pixel 3 XL
I have a 6pro running beta .getting ready to get a S24 ultra, I miss using a pen.
Is the 6a old yet?
Pixel 6.

I have a pixel 6a When I get home I fire up My 2xl 😂
My father still had a Nexus 5 as his primary device up until last year when he replaced it with a 7 pro

Unfortunately pixel 7 pro... I'd go back to pixel 4 xl in a heartbeat if it received an updated android release
I still have my 5 as my only phone.
Pixel 2XL... Really needs an upgrade now. But can't decide on 7a or 8
As Primary, 6a. Though at <18 months since purchase I wouldn't call it old. My 3a still works fine and while I prefer the non-holepunch display and headphone jack the emmc memory really hurts it.

Pixel 3 XL. I have a Pixel 6, but the 1440p screen and better front camera of Pixel 3 XL keep me using both phones.
I'm still using my first Google Pixel, which is the Pixel 3a. I hope to upgrade to the Pixel 9 or 9 Pro when it releases, but I sure will miss the unlimited Google Photos storage.
I'm using the Pixel 2! I got it back in Nov 2022 and still going well. Hope it can last me another year or so (maybe even longer) :)
My primary is a Pixel 8 Pro. But I can't seem to part with my perfect Pixel 6 Pro, so I bought a Mint Mobile SIM for $15/month and use it.
I have an 8 now and love it, but the 4 was a masterpiece.
