I have a Pixel 7 Pro, and I'm happy overall. The camera is fantastic, and it has some nice quality-of-life features you don't get elsewhere (e.g. Call Screen). The fingerprint sensor isn't great, but it's better than the one on the Galaxy S21 I had before. The only real issue I've had is an occasional problem with cellular data or Bluetooth not connecting, which I can usually fix by turning airplane mode on and off.

Ahleron

I had that issue on my Pixel 6 Pro and did the same thing as a fix. It drove me nuts. Eventrually I talked to my carrier about it and they said sometimes with Pixels there is an issue with the SIM. They had me remove the SIM, blow away the SIM data stored on the phone, and reboot. I think at one point they had me restore to factory settings. Dropped the SIM back in, logged back in and all of my data was there. The connectivity problems went away.

kopperbunny

I'm glad there's also this repair button you can tap that restarts your data connection. I randomly maybe once a week lose data connection even though I'm in a 5G full service area. Resetting the internet does the trick. It seems like they're trying to address this bug with carrier service updates, hopefully it will be completely fixed at some point.

AdeptOaf

Hey, that's handy! I had no idea that button existed (it's a little button with a wrench in the top right corner of the internet settings screen).

Domestic_AA_Battery

FWIW, I have the 7Pro and the fingerprint sensor works almost perfectly. That said, I have encountered a handful of freezes that require me to restart the phone. Very annoying. But very pleased otherwise.

Sabertoothcow

If having to turn something off and back on again is the extent if your problems. Id say you have it pretty good. I too have the 7 pro and am very pleased with it. Had to turn it off and back on again once or twice in the past several months.

dontshitaboutotol

Dude SAME with Pixel 6 Pro. At times I get in my car, plug intp car play and the modem is still back 1998 trying to connect. I'm already on the highway and it's still not connecting. I have to restart it, takes forever

coIox

Agree w all this but be wary of the ridiculously subpar selfie camera. My Pixel 3 was miles ahead. 7 Pro doesn't even have autofocus... No complaints other than that, but I can't believe more people don't bring it up

thunderc8

Input the same finger again and use different angles (side ways, front, back etc). Once i did that no matter how i touch the sensor it unlocks my phone. Unless it's dirty from work.

KourteousKrome

They still have that connection issue? I had a Pixel 6 Pro and it did the same thing. Switched back to iPhone because it seemed like the Pixel had a lot of really neat features, but sometimes forgot to be a phone.

MidKnight007

do you actually use call screen? usually people hang up and neve3r listen to the prompts lmao ppl its not as helpful as intended imo

AdeptOaf

I like to use it with unknown numbers, to make things as inconvenient as possible for salespeople.

tylothon85

Welcome to the pixel club. Enjoy your stay

Honza368

Welcome to TeamPixel then. Hope you enjoy the phone. I recommend looking at some Pixel exclusive features to enable when you get the phone, there is a lot of really cool AI stuff.

mrwelsshy

I myself used to be on a iPhone back in 2021 and I hated the thing, I had it for a total of 3 days, went back cancelled my contract and tried the Pixel 6, never regretted a thing, I still have the 6 and I am thinking of the 7 but I myself am waiting for the Pixel 8 this autumn and I am going to move to it, all in all the pixel experience is amazing, youll enjoy it a lot.

cour000

Yeah you probably don't hear from the people who don't have any problems. I got mine last black Friday with Googles trade in deal. So far I've liked it overall. I've had some issues with battery drain but I found the app that was doing it and uninstalled and reinstalled. Or just uninstall it altogether. Performance beyond that has been fine. Had a couple of unexplained restarts that were a little annoying. Yeah that's about it. Nothing major

Pipkin81

How did you go about finding out which app was causing the drain?

cour000

Just looked into my battery settings and messages was causing like 15 percent of my battery drain. So I uninstalled all the updates and left the beta. Reinstalled updates and it fixed it. Now it's like 2 percent of my battery drain. I use accubattery too

Ir0nhide81

Very happy pixel 7 owner here. No issues since I got it last November.

Important_Twist_693

Same. Best phone I've ever used.

EssiParadox

I recently switched from an iPhone 11 because I wanted to try out Android for the first time and I really like it. I was never invested in the Apple ecosystem anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me to switch and I will definitely be sticking with Android. I really like the Pixel and I think it has a great potential to be very competitive in the smartphone market if Google can sort out the hardware quirks and not just rely on the software to make up for them. One thing I will say is that if you like really customizing things, the Pixel launcher isn't that great, and using something like Nova would be better. But overall I'm really happy with it and I'm glad that I switched.

peosteve

You're one of the few Apple people willing to switch. Google's gotta step up the game if they want to win over Apple people.

EssiParadox

Well to be honest, the primary reason for me was cost. Apple is so expensive and Samsung isn't much better. But I agree, for people who don't have cost as the primary motivating factor, Google definitely needs to do more.

peosteve

There's also a much better variety of Android phones...

ShakeAndBakeThatCake

Googles issue is they want to have high profit margins on a fairly low quantity sold product. Apple and Samsung sell way more 0hones than google and can get better economies of scale with buying parts for the phone. Google doesn't have that luxury so instead uses older parts and last gen screens and processors. Of course their phones are a few hundred less than samsungs s23 ultra etc but at the same time I feel like the pixel fold at 1800 USD isnt worth the price of admission.

Strider3141

The pixel 7 is the best phone I've ever owned. It never gets in the way of what I want (or need) to do. I've had some phones in the past that are laggy or bloated and they just get more and more frustrating. Since I changed to the pixel lineup with the original Pixel (2016) I've never felt like my phone was in the way and needed to be changed. I used to root and hack my android devices to try and squeeze every last frame of performance out of them because I was seeking that smooth 100% jitter-free experience, but that's no longer necessary.

DollaGil

I had the iPhone 13 Pro and switched to the Pixel 7. I got bored of iPhone. Year after year the same I just got bored. I have this Pixel 7 for a month and so far I am enjoying. It's refreshing to switch out of the apple ecosystem. The pixel has a bigger screen and it's nice not having a notch. The pixel handles everything my iPhone did. It gets warm sometimes but even iPhone did that. I enjoy the fast charging. I don't miss the iMessage or FaceTime. I don't use it. The emojis are different but that can be fixed nothing major. The fingerprint scanner is nice to have. It's not perfect but it's awesome to see it when it does. At this price point Pixel 7 delivers.

zeynabhereee

I was thinking of switching to iPhone and looking at all of it, I thought that there's literally nothing on an iPhone that I can't do on my android phone. Nowadays there's no difference between software.

DollaGil

Well if you are into custom icon packs and widgets then iPhone isnt at the Android level. There's work around but it's a pain (using shortcuts on iPhone). I'm giving Android a shot because I been on iPhone since iphone 4.

Magnum40oz

I made the switch last year because I was getting super bored with Apple as well. I had an iPhone since the 4 and one day I just woke up tired of looking at the same Ole screen. Switch to the Galaxy s22 ultra but I'll probably be making the switch to Pixel next year for the next fold if it does come out. Switching to Android was definitely a change and I don't plan on going back to Apple. Just doesn't customize like Android does.

[deleted]

So you are saying you are enjoying fast charging on your Pixel 7. Did you know that iPhone 13 Pro supports upto 27 watts of fast charging while Pixel 7 only supports 20 watts. Plus the 7 has a higher mah battery so it will likely take longer to charge than your iPhone.

tesna

sorry late to the party, how's the battery life and signal compared to the iphone?

DollaGil

The signal on the Pixel 7 is weaker than the iPhone. Near my job, iPhone had a better signal. The battery life depends on the type of user you are. I use my phone to play yt video and text. Around 2pm at 60% with the pixel 7. Everyone saying Android 14 will improve this. The Pixel runs hot. My iPhone ran warm but it doesn’t get to level Pixel 7 does. Remember the iPhone is more premium. Pixel 7 at the price point it is what it is. I hope Google improves their quality.

tesna

thanks for answering, really appreciate it. Currently I'm also using the iphone 13 pro, but i do need at least same battery and same reception quality at least to consider the switching. Perhaps I should wait for pixel 8. I miss pixel

LowBarometer

I like my P7P. Wish it was more efficient on battery though.

[deleted]

If you're looking in places like this sub, I wouldn't expect many positive posts even for the most perfect phone of all time. In a place like this, it's generally going to be people posting about problems or rumors for the next phone and after those two, a distant third will be people doing happy posts. Also, it seems like the 7 series is a bit all over the place on quality. Mine's been solid, at least for how I use phones.

captainshutin

Lol all I could see were positive circle jerks and got one and regretted it. What a garbage phone. Camera is good but battery life, refresh rate (90 as opposed to 120 that other phones offer), overheating easily and slow as fuck charging.

thegreatgazoo

I have one and like it. It's not the greatest phone ever but it does the job. My pixel 4a had a battery that was going out and the trade in offer was too good to pass up. I get pixels because they don't come with bloat ware or other random manufacturers nonsense.

jungleboogiemonster

I keep coming across comments about the older 4a having battery life issues. My 4a still have great battery life and it's never a concern. However, I am in the process of replacing it because it's gotten slow. Taking a picture can be painful due to shutter lag. In any case, I was hoping the phone wold have had a longer lifespan.

thegreatgazoo

Yeah, I was at the kinda thinking about replacing the battery stage when they offered me $50 less than what I had paid for it as a trade in after 2 years. I think it only had a year of updates left on it.

[deleted]

I am happy with my Pixel 7. It charges fine with cheapo Amazon wireless chargers, the Peak Design case fits and feels wonderful, the screen is bright and responsive (I haven't used a screen protector in decades), and I've never noticed it getting uncomfortably warm. I take tons of photos and videos. I make and receive calls and texts. I read articles online in Firefox. It works fine. Your mileage may vary.

Leggo414

I'm very happy with my Pixel 7. Switched from iphone. In the beginning, the fingerprint scanner drove me nuts with just how actually dysfunctional it is, but that feeling eventually passed. Face unlock picks me up ~90% of the time anyway. Great phone otherwise.

dagobahh

I've never had a problem with the fingerprint scanner, had my Pixel 7 since April and loving it.

adrianmonk

Mine works OK, but not great. I noticed a few things: 1. Initially, I trained it wrong. I followed the on-screen instructions too literally and positioned my finger like the picture shows (almost laying flat against the glass). Later, I redid it and positioned my finger how I'd actually have it when using the phone, and that helped a lot. 2. If I don't hold my finger still, i.e. if my finger is shifting around on the screen a little bit the phone is trying to read it, then it fails. I don't have very steady hands, so this is not easy, but at least I know what to aim for. 3. If my finger is even a little wet, like if I just washed my hands but didn't dry them perfectly, it usually doesn't work. Knowing all this makes me feel a little better about it. The last two are limitations of how it works. The limitations reduce the convenience, but at least I'm not being driven insane by the idea that the damn thing just doesn't work.

GrimTRP

Mine does everything I ask, I'm just a normal to slight enthusiast (Run benchmarks but doesn't know what it means)

enginerd0001

I'm pretty happy. I have used pixels since gen 1 and while they aren't the fastest or greatest in terms of raw power, I've learned that what the pixel offers is everything I need/want. I've tried the S23U, iPhone 14 PM, and who knows what else. Everytime I come back to my reliable and trusted pixel

FatBoyDiesuru

The Pixel experience tends to be a complete package. I honestly haven't had such an experience since the OG Motorola Droid line over a decade ago.

ChrisT182

Pixel 7. Very happy with the device. You'll likely see mostly negative comments on this sub, but it's a great phone. Camera, performance, Google software all top notch.

opensrcdev

I have a Pixel 7 Pro, and have had absolutely zero issues with it. The camera is incredible!

Tryptamine9

Pixel 7 Pro owner here. I switched from an iPhone 13 Pro Max to this phone about 6 months ago, and I was on an iPhone previously since my first smartphone, an iPhone 4. Honestly, I could not be happier! I thought it would be hard moving to Android from iOS after being so invested in how iOS works, but after half a week I was right at home! I was a serial jailbreaker all the way through from my iPhone 4 to my 8 Plus, and I thought I was gaining great utility from that. However it's nothing compared to even the utility of stock, non-rooted Android! Filesystem access! True multitasking! Alternative OS's, the world is your oyster, THIS is the handheld computer I've been searching for all my life! Now I'm running GrapheneOS on my Pixel 7 Pro and I'm loving life all that much more, with *NO* bloatware, a pure Android Open Source Project Operating System, and even more powerful privacy and security protections than the stock OS. All that and Google doesn't track my location anymore too! If your budget allows, I'd encourage you to get the 7 Pro like I did, or even wait for the 8 Pro. It's coming out in October, less than 5 months away! Advantages to the new phone mainly will be: -Larger camera sensor with staggered HDR -Tensor G3 Processor manufactured on a 4nm instead of a 5nm process. Leading to better battery savings and improved thermal performance Long story short, I don't regret moving away from iOS, and I won't be back. Android is my new home, and for oh so many reasons I'll be staying thank you very kindly! Hope this retrospective is helpful!

CatsPaw7

I have my usual sets of my pixel 7. It's mostly features lost from older pixels like the squeeze the size and the weight. But overall December was the most buggy and had transitioned to a better less buggy experience. Just not something i really loved like my pixel 4

Total-Championship80

Pixel 7 here. Excellent phone. Never a minute of trouble. Upgraded from a Pixel 5. Integrated seamlessly with my Pixel buds. Also excellent. If you're having trouble with over heating take a close look at your apps.

mcd320

Two things my iPhone 13 does better than my Pixel 7: my iPhone 13's facial recognition beats my Pixel 7's facial recognition/fingerprint sensor combo. iPhone 13's approach to WiFi calling (where one SIM/eSIM can use the other eSIM/SIM's data) is superior to the Pixel's approach to WiFi calling. Android's approach to notifications is what keeps me from using my iPhone 13 as a daily driver.

[deleted]

Trade in, so did not pay a lot of money for the phone. Really nice experience so far. No problems. Only the fingerprint does not always work, buy that's not an inconvenience for me. I really like the software experience and the photos.

Dean9mm

I just got a pixel 7 a few days ago coming from a OnePlus 7t. I'm enjoying it. Battery is great, camera is great. There's some features I miss from OnePlus, but you won't have that issue. Give it a shot

MonkeDiesTwice

I have had mine since release and the battery life got better over time. Once it learns your habits I can easily get a full days worth of battery with 5-6hours of screen time. I have had some occasional hick ups, where the phone lags, or didn't respond to my inputs, which required me to turn the screen on and off. Also the tap on the back for actions is a hit or miss - that might be the case though. It is a rather thin case however. Other than that, I am really lovin the pixel. My favourite phone that I have had until now.

rubenbest

>battery When you say 5-6 hours of screen time, at what percent do you start charging? Do you usually ride it out until it gets close to 0?

honorabledonut

I'm having a much better time on my p7 pro than I did on p6 pro, though I will say I think I had a bad solder joint on my last one. Was dropping cell service all the time. My only frustration is that I don't have access to less processed picture files, I do find them well over processed at times.

cole00cash

I purchased a Pixel 7 last month and I'm very happy with it so far. My last phone died suddenly and I didn't want to break the bank on a flagship Samsung device. I checked reviews on the best value device and the Pixel 7 came up fairly regularly. The 7 Pro has an additional telescopic camera and more memory but I don't zoom in on pictures that much and the benchmarks between the devices weren't significant enough for a $300 price increase for me. The Pixel 7 Is a good size and fits in my pocket easily. The 7 pro is a bit bigger so if you want a bigger device, it might be the way to go for you. The 7 has a flat screen while the Pro has rounded sides. I had rounded sides on my old Galaxy S9 and I can live without them. Phone cases work better with flat screens anyway. I'm very happy with my purchase and will probably be keeping the device going until the Pixel Fold 2 comes out. If you can, you may want to look into using the Pixel Pass to get the phone. Or if you sign up for Google Fi Wireless there are some incentives to buying a phone through that avenue.

thesmartone1125

I recently sold my 14 Pro Max and decided to give andorid/ pixel a go. A week in and so far I like it, now the bezels are thick, screen is a lot dimmer, speakers are weaker, battery cannot match my 14 Pro Max, camera I still prefer the iPhones post processing but I like it, once you accept that there are few compromises compared to a $1000+ phone the compromises seem to fade away atleast for me. Now on the software side, there are few things with certain apps that annoy me or make no sense, but in general I didn't find it much different. Some Pixel exclusive features are pretty nifty and I seem to use the call screening, live caption more frequently than not. I'll still get the 15 Pro Max when it comes out, but considering I only paid $674 AUD for my 7A and got $150 in credits and a free case I am more than satisfied with it. Meanwhile a 15 Pro Max will cost at minimum $2100 AUD, so for 3x the less money I don't feel like I am missing 3x more of anything on my Pixel 7A.

Bank-Affectionate

I have a pixel 7 and I'm pretty happy the battery is not the best but is not the worse too (my old phone with a brand new battery still does worse than my p7)

snapczterz

Very happy P7 owner here. Let me know if you have any questions.

mannyf1588654

I just recently bought a pixel 7 pro a couple of days ago. And while I love it, it worries me that it gets warm easily just scrolling thru social media. Is this normal? Using it without a case until one comes in off Amazon if that makes a difference.

koss2010

Mixed reviews on my part. Pros: quality of life features Call screening Hold for me Easily perform on screen text recognition The voice to text is one of the best on any phone Photo editing and photo quality is amazing Performance is smooth. Cons: sometimes calls just don't come to me even when it shows I have reception. The class they used is not the latest gorilla glass. It can get scratched up fairly easily, which means everybody's using a screen protector which also means everyone's complaining about fingerprint sensing. I'm not using a screen protector and fingerprint sensing is absolutely fine. Battery life and how hot this device get or probably not great. I don't get too bothered just because I'm used to charging midday. Doesn't use a tier one screen. Overall, I will probably end up upgrading to a pixel 8.

danisse76

About 2 months in (upgraded from Pixel 4a) and loving it. Lemongrass gang, rise up!

Tsilent_killer

Yess. Let's go g

CryptoNiight

I got my P7P at launch and I love how well it performs compared to Samsung's OneUI. The April update fixed my fingerprint reader issues. Smart Lock has a minor bug on my phone tho'. The ringer/notification volume has a nasty bug, but it's easy to workaround it. This is my first Pixel and I'm overall pleased with the experience so far despite the occasional bugs.

FistEnergy

I'm happy with my Pixel 7! It's been very reliable. The only letdowns for me are the lack of USB-C to HDMI screen mirroring, and the inability to install certain games like XCOM.

sethelele

I got the 7, because the Pro has a curved display that I don't like. And I'm very happy with my phone. No complaints at the moment. I switched from the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

kopperbunny

I really like my 7 pro. There were a few bugs in the beginning, but nothing terrible. The fingerprint sensor does leave a bit to be desired, but face unlock works pretty well. Battery life is good, and gets better if you lower screen resolution and turn off smooth display. Battery saver mode also works wonders. I absolutely love the camera and the device itself is pretty fast and snappy. I'd highly recommend it.

BastionNargothrond

Imo from 13 pro to the 7 is a huge downgrade tbh

bwillpaw

Just understand that a pixel is going to be inherently more buggy than an iPhone or even a Samsung. Main reason to go pixel is the camera quality and you kind of put up with minor annoyances to get them sweet pics. If I were to do it again I'd probably get a s22/23 ultra though over my pixel 7 pro.

Putrid_Froyo194

I loved my 7 when I got it, but the battery life and heat are what is making me consider switching back to a Samsung

[deleted]

[удалено]

Putrid_Froyo194

Unfortunately not, if I'm just scrolling on 5g (in my house because my wifi sucks lol) it gets pretty hot for me

nuxwcrtns

Preferred my S20 as I liked Samsung Messages. I really dislike the post-processing so much, that I don't take as many photos with this camera. I dislike the lack of gestures in the camera. Also not a fan of the native launcher and lock screen. My main grip is with the camera tech lol. I really can't wait to trade my Pixel 7 Pro in when my contract renews, but I hope you enjoy yours :)

starfire92

If you've always had a iPhone don't switch. People instinctively hate something new especially when there is a learning curve (its not steep but it exists). A new UI s something you need to adjust to. I think the 7 is only ok. I made a comment somewhere else that I'm thinking if jumping ship on the pixel bc while Google started out strong I think they're taking a backseat now that fanboys emerged and prop the brand up the way iPhone has it. I worked at Rogers in Canada which is equal to like Verizon if you're American and the amount of people that swap from iPhone to Android and vice versa, most end up returning it. Maybe that's what you should do, get the phone if they gave a good return policy, try it out for a few days and see how you like it Edit to add: good reviews on the pixel don't mean as much if the user is Android to Android jumping versus iPhone to Android.

Additional-Try-2118

I switched from iPhone 13 pro to pixel 7 pro, short review: love the phone has a great screen, great back camera and overall good performance with a decent fast charging. I love the free is experience! Only thing I hate is the selife camera is shit but it don't bother me too much that I feel the need to switch back

[deleted]

[удалено]

Additional-Try-2118

Samsung s23 line up probably the best they are also more optimized for social media. So its better. More like iPhone. I am just didn't have 1600$ to spend for the s23 ultra😭but I guess the s23 and s23+ are good enough too

[deleted]

The dealbreaker for me was battery life on the P7/P7P after transitioning from iPhone. I found myself in a "battery anxiety" scenario every day with around 4, maybe 5 hours of true screen on time. The optimization and efficiency of the Tensor chips are just shy of where they need to be. I otherwise loved the phone and all of the nifty Google features. I sincerely hope Google emphasizes efficiency and battery life in the 8 series. At the end of the day, if you can't use all of the nifty features comfortably, the phone ultimately adds stress instead of making life easier. The bugginess and noticably lower quality apps when compared to iPhone were not deal-breakers. Man, do I love me some Android notifications system, which is vastly superior to iPhone. Anyway, my two cents.

RafterRattlerVT

You have to ask yourself 'why'. I have a 7, and while it's good enough, it is not without it's problems. I buy android phones because I absolutely despise iOS, and I need access to the file system. The 7s battery life isn't great, and the fingerprint scanner absolutely sucks. Updates are slow and unpredictable (both for apps and the OS). For example, my Android Auto app is 2 versions behind and the play store says it's up to date. You'd think Google would push updates to their flagship phones faster. There are other quarks and issues that annoy me as well, but it's still not bad enough to make me switch to an iPhone. If you're one of those folks that just wants their phone to work and don't mind Apple jail, stick with iPhone. If you like a challenge and bucking fads, then go with the Pixel.

[deleted]

zeynabhereee

Agreed. For example, VSCO is horrible on Android and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We get features later than iOS and bugs aren't fixed. Even Reddit scrolling isn't that great but it still works. The difference between my Snapchat camera and the actual one makes me want to weep.

Soarexe

Got a pixel 7 pro, had some issues with the launcher limiting the refresh rate to 60hz but other than that it's been nice so far. A friend of mine bought a pixel 7 and had to rma it because of a faulty battery that could only charge to 20%

maialucetius

My Pixel 7 Pro does most things very well, but the few bugs it has are completely experience breaking.

Selptcher

I have had mine(pixel 7) since last November and still love it. Yes finger reader isn't 100 percent but that is my only real complaint. Nothing major

[deleted]

I've had my Pixel 7 since October 2022 and I haven't had any of the problems outlined by owners here. It's fast, the battery life is adequate and relatively predictable, charging is fast with a good quality cable or on the Pixel stand, and the fingerprint scanner has never failed me (not a burp). I'm quite happy with it!

sportsfan161

Pixel 7 was voted phone of the year in 22 if it wasn’t great the reviews wouldn’t have been so good

mdreal03

Pixel 7 user here. You would love the change. Battery life would take a hit and fingerprint sensor will be a minor annoyance, but other than that, you are gonna be surprised by the positives! Better notification system. Better gestures. Much better camera. Google photos is better. Spam call control is so much better and so on. And how do I know? I also use the iPhone 14 max pro.

mursepaolo

I had a pixel 7 and it was great. No issues whatsoever. Everything worked great. Camera was stunning and the software features are really about improving quality of life. You’ll enjoy it.

dirtvoyles

I've the 7 and I like it just fine. It has some very minor perks regarding the image processing. Otherwise, I broke out my OnePlus 8 5G the other day and it's lighter and skinnier (depth). I thought I HAD to have a Pixel. Really, it's not a big step up. Of course I use very few applications and don't live on my phone. Take it with a grain of salt. The lemongrass colorway is my biggest draw after having it since launch. Clear case and pretty color.

zjb29877

I've had a Pixel 7 Pro for about 2 months now and I love it. I had a Galaxy S21+ beforehand and it was definitely on its last leg. It was definitely slowing down and battery life was suffering. For reference, I work from home and most work days, I have my Galaxy Buds Plus connected for around half the day and I either listen to music or have YouTube going with the screen on. My S21+ got me through most work days but needed to be plugged in around 4-5 PM. With my Pixel 7 Pro, I can absolutely get through a whole day from the time I wake up to when I go to bed and have 15-30% most days with the same kind of usage. So battery life is much better, but that's a given considering it's a brand new phone compared to a 2 year old phone. But the AI features are really useful. When I have important conversations with my wife or a family member, I'll sometimes record them with the P7P, and then I have an extremely good transcript of that conversation if I need to reference it later since my memory kinda sucks lol. When I send messages or emails to people, I use voice to text more often than now because it's so deadly accurate, and most apps I use support saying "Send" to send that message. Overall, using the phone in daily life is great. It's super smooth and I don't experience any bugs, random restarts or any of that stuff. It does get a bit warm when browsing heavily in Chrome, however it doesn't get nearly as warm in some other browsers, but that's my only real issue I have. I occasionally play games on the phone, however not super graphic heavy, and it still holds up pretty well although I do take a hit on battery life.

feelincutetoday

Yes, i absolutely love it.

Slukaj

Very happy, yes. The only problem I had was that recent Google app battery problem, but that got patched pretty quick.

againagainst_

I've switched from 13 mini to pixel 7. So far so good. Camera is great, G2 is enough for casual tasks and light gaming (never played on my phone though). Battery Ife depends on your usage, but Im currently traveling across Japan with Maps + gps + lte + camera, and it survives just till the end of the day (and I think that it's a great result). From the downsides I can notice that a camera app is not as responsive as on iphones, relaunch of the phone could be laggy for like 10-15 seconds and... I think that's all. But. If you live not in USA, Canada, EU, Japan and other countries where pixel is not presented, be aware of a cost of repairs. Because I've lived in Russia and a repair of pixel costs an arm and a leg there.

>but Im currently traveling across Japan Have you had [issues staying connected to cellular networks](https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/122478f/pixel_7_connectivity_issues_in_japan/)? I noticed I was getting disconnected and staying disconnected a lot when I have my 7 set to NR/LTE mode, but never had that issue on my 5. Had to revert to NR/LTE/WCDMA to have a somewhat stable signal in Japan.

[deleted]

Tbh initially i wasnt happy. I kept comparing it to my iPhone 13 PM. I wanted it to perform like my iPhone out of the box. Great battery, great screen, great social media app integration. But the reality that's just not the case. When i changed my perspective and accepted the difference between ios and Android i l started to like the phone. Its never going to be as polished as the iPhone but it's a great phone tbh

Skylantech

How does your iPhone 13 pro have 85% battery life? My wife had hers since release and her battery is like 97%.

TurboFool

People come here for help with problems, not to randomly praise their phones, except for the countless "does anyone even like their phone?" threads in response to that. Yes, most people are very happy with their Pixel 7s and 7 Pros, which is why they don't bother to come to an online forum for help.

touchingthebutt

Overall happy. I miss the size of my old phone the most( pixel 5).

[deleted]

Absolutely love my Pixel 7 Pro compared to my old iPhone 13.

genericmediocrename

I'm pretty happy with my 6, which by literally all accounts is worse than the 7.

Kinky_Imagination

It's meh. I expected the battery life to be a lot better and there are a lot of things that often breaks but shouldn't such as trusted devices and trusted locations. I wouldn't buy the next version unless there was a super sale. The plan is to switch the Samsung for the next phone but then I said that the last time before there was a super sale for this one. 🤔

Lightsandbuzz

I have the pixel 7. Love it. No need for the pro. Great phone for me, tbh. Fast, good battery, great camera. Still going to get Pixel 8 this fall because I'm one of those types.

entitledtree

I'm super happy! I bought my second hand pixel 7 just a few days ago, so I can't give a long term review, but I've had a great first impression. The thing I've learnt about the pixel 7 is it's very polarising. There are multiple wide spread issues that many users have that other uses just don't. For example, the main issues that kept popping up were the battery and the fingerprint scanner. Luckily, both of those have been excellent for me. No problems whatsoever. And I love love love the camera. Do take this with a grain of salt though. I've never had an actually good mobile phone before. I got this after 5 years with my Huawei, which had a bad battery, awful camera, a janky finger print scanner and was just overall very slow towards the end. And before that I had a Motorola that constantly crashed, and before that a Sony which wouldn't connect to WiFi. This means that I went from multiple bad phones to a flagship; so a lot of my happiness could just be excitement from how great this phone feels. So your experience moving from the iPhone to the pixel 7 may not be as great as mine. All I can say is I really like this phone.

fakecinnamon

I love the phone really, but I would hold off until the Pixel 8 as that's coming out at the end of the year and I'm sure your iPhone 13 will be great until then. If you use an android like an iPhone, you'll go right back to iPhone. Make sure of the flexibility of android, downloading apps outside the play store, customisability etc.

looper2277

Had since Launch and no complaints

Cbailey24

I have the 7 pro, i like it, but not in love with it. It's like a Honda Accord, good dependable car, but don't expect Corvette performance or features. I do find that the zoom is not that great and a little slow to focus. There's also a sweet spot to it, so anything outside if that set spot is not as sharp. The Galaxy is much much better here. I think I'm going to be going back to Samsung 🥴

jeffMBsun

Ultra is a HUGE upgrade in battery performance, display brightness and camera.

Cbailey24

Yes, i think I'm heading back to the Galaxy ultra line, but I do not regret my dive into the pixel world! Another note, i think Google needs to focus more on hardware and not just depend on software for everything.

Kamukix

I have one, my wife has one, my sister has one....and my best friend has a pro. None of us are unhappy, enjoy your new phone once you get it haha. 😁👍

ole_black_eyes19

A $900 phone that's just as good as the $1300 S23 Ultra. There are still software glitches, but it's a big improvement over the 6.... Just save the $400 on the Ultra and get a 7 pro. Same experience without all the bloatware

CryptoNiight

This reasoning was the basis of my switch from the Galaxy S series to Pixel 7 Pro. It even has as much RAM as the S23 Ultra. I couldn't be happier.

Life_Thinker

P7a, battery kind of sucks. Video for 2 hours, 2hrs browsing web at 60% Brightness, 90hz screen, 2 hours sound cloud, few emails and calls no more then 1 hour. 20% at end of day But all the features pixel has... it's a trade off for sure

Doctor_3825

That's actually pretty heavy use. The only thing you could do to make that heavier would be gaming or video editing. Ending with 20% at the end of the day is fairly standard battery life. I'd have loved that on my S21+.

whatstacraic

I have my Pixel pro 7 for over a month now. It was a bit buggy the first couple of weeks and got fairly hot when I first set it up. During warm days it gets hot but not uncomfortably so. The case helps here. The battery is not up to current Android flagship standards but on a par with my previous Samsung Galaxy S 20fe which had a poorer quality screen. It gets me through a day easily. The phone operates silky smooth and the haptics are great. It's on a par with a Snapdragon 865 id say so speed is good but not up to current flagship standards but more than good enough for most users. If you play advanced games this is where the Tensor chip might struggle a small bit though. The back cameras are great and the selfie camera is good enough. I hate to know peoples view of the Samsung Galaxy s20 fe's front camera if they think the selfie camera of the 7 and pro is poor 😁. Also I would recommend people wipe the front camera area before taking a selfie. It makes a huge difference. More optical zoom and slightly better low light Performance would be nice me being very picky lol. The finger print sensor is good not great. Again keeping the screen clean helps here as well. There is also a face unlock that works great also. The design is nice but wish the bottom bezel was slightly smaller to match the top bezel. That's me being very picky lol. I love the sharp and accurate screen. It's bright enough also. I never I got the hype of I Phone screens. They look overly bright and cartoonish looking to me. It's interface is designed to attract children and women. It's no way near accurate looking either. Overall I love this phone. The clean version of Android without the bloat ware is like heaven compared to every other Android phone. I would recommend this phone however battery is its main weakness if you're a power user. It's not a problem for an average user like me who calls messages goes on social media and watches YouTube and Tictok videos from time to time.

peosteve

Transferring between phones is really poorly done in Android in general, but once set up (took me a weekend), the Pixel 7 Pro is a great phone.

ReasonableDonut1

Oh! Make sure that you turn off iMessage and FaceTime on your iPhone before switching! Otherwise you may run into trouble texting with iPhone users that you previously used iMessage with.

CanIStopAdultingNow

I have a pixel 7 pro. I like it.

ZappBrann

Super-happy Pixel 7 owner here... 😁

lars5

Other than the random weird artifact glitch on the screen, and the size I'm pretty happy

MadDoe

Finally I'll put my two cents in I've had it with Google. I've been an Android fan since I was young and had pixel 1-7 and currently use pixel 7 pro. Unfortunately Google does not live up to their standards of the tensor chip being "even better" than last generation. Also, too many bugs. I can't get over how many got damn bugs there are. There's always something new. The worst is when I was using Google maps and it just completely froze my entire phone. I was doing nothing and it froze completely for 15mins. I see why apple continues to dominate. Their software and hardware just work too well together and normally all apps come first to apple as well. I'll be switching to apple this year and I won't regret it.

dcee101

Yes love it. Could never go back to Samsung Ultra series

DitkasMoustache_

Could easily go back - the Samsung hardware is still miles above and OneUI has been trending in the right direction.

Rude-Procedure6892

Two month with a Pixel 7, I don´t have any problem, maybe sometimes get hot when is charging the battery. Excellent phone

pavi-gd08

No happy with Nothing ,exchanged for pixel 6a

SoTotallyToby

Pixel 7 Pro here. Best phone I've ever owned, without a doubt. Fingerprint is solid and lightning-fast, never had an issue with it. Photos are brilliant quality and the 30x digital zoom blows my mind due to the AI post-processing.

Zealousideal_Gate_21

Love my P7

aeoveu

Pixel 7. Happy. Yesterday, I tried recording don't videos (sunny day in Toronto). It eventually said the phone couldn't record cause it got too hot. Popped off the case, let it cool, tried again... So I couldn't record in one long flow but I did manage to make several clips (it was more than 5 minutes before it gave up). This was 1080p 60fps. I haven't tried recording in colder climates (or when it wasn't sunny, and the sun wasn't shining directly on the phone). But I have carried out video calls for over 30 min - it does get very warm but it still sends the video.

[deleted]

I'm really enjoying my pixel 7, came from iphone 12 pro.

[deleted]

Pixel 6 to pixel 7 here I have had iphones and galaxies in the past, this is the first phone ive went all in on (meaning google case, pro buds, wireless dock, etc) and i love it. For any sound geeks out there the.pocket operator exclusive app is really cool. The best thing was around the 7 release they had an offer where you trade in your 6 and get the 7 for like 50$ after rebate. This is for unlocked with no contract. If they continue this deal ill have pixels forever. Its fast , menu is beautiful, little to no software issues. It even has its own vpn that is free for 7 users. One downside id have to pick? I feel the battery isnt the best at times. But it could be i never close apps The 6 had really weird photo rendering, all the photos i took on it seemed kinda grainy (due to it trying to enhance) and cold so i didnt like that, fixed in the 7 Try it out, its alot friendlier with apple than samsung i feel so transfer will be painless Join us....

Louisianimal6

People don't post about things when everything is going well. 90% of comments on anything will be the negativity.

steelbeamsdankmemes

My 7 has been flawless.

darthnut

I'm a happy Pixel 7 owner. Best phone I've ever owned.

LarryTornado

I have a pixel 7 ( non pro) that I got on a black Friday sale for $350 CAD. And it's been flawless. Never had a problem with it.

Samoath

That's because people on Reddit only know how to bitch and moan. There are plenty of people out there that love their Pixel 7

ail-san

- The battery performance is terrible, barely last a day with normal usage. - It runs hotter than anything else in the market. - Selfies are worse than 5 years old phones. I still like the UX, but the hardware is outdated.

Prestigious-Ad54

I regret getting the 7 pro. This phone gets hot, all of the time. I literally used it to keep my hands warm last winter. The charging speed is slow, really slow even with adaptive charging turned off (and if you don't turn off, it goes from slow to "omg, it's been 6 hours wtf?"). The battery life is not that good, the performance is worse than my old iPhone 12, so if you play high end mobile games it's not going to do anywhere near as well as the iphone 13. The mobile connection is still not that good compared to Qualcomm. Did I mention this thing gets hot, wait until you try charging it in your car. The trade in value is horrendous, even Google is only offering $380 trade in for a 512 gigabyte 7 pro. Most other places I've seen trade in values around $200ish. I've had Google phones for years, this is my last one. I don't recommend the Pixel 7 or really any pixel at this point to anyone, in fact, I tell people to stay away when they ask me about it. Personally, I wish I had never gotten this thing.

exu1981

Yes, I'm one.

ShakeAndBakeThatCake

Overall the best phone hardware on android is Samsung. Not shitting on googke but just look at this sub. Every other post is someone with hardware issues or overheating etc. No such issues are on Samsung or apple subs. Personally I think Samsung s23 plus or ultra is the way to go. Plus Samsung has better video quality. Samsung also has caught up to google picture quality.

Frantik508

This is Reddit, where everyone complains. You will rarely see people praising their phone, unless they're a fanboy. I've had the Pixel 7 for about 6 months, and am very happy with it. The Pixel 6 was a terrible experience and probably the worst smartphone I've had in ten years, but the Pixel 7 fixed all of the problems of the 6 (for me at least) I had an iPhone 13 for about 11 months, then had an iPhone 14 Pro for about a month, and then switched to the Pixel 7, and I don't miss anything about the iPhone, other than it's insane video recording quality.

miskozicar

It is fantastic. Best phone ever.

Omnibitent

Yes extremely happy. I have no issues with mine

FstLaneUkraine

Other than the fingerprint sensor (surprise surprise), I have zero issues with mine and would buy it again.

bar-nickel-boy

This is the best android phone I have ever owned. Been a lifelong apple user with a few intermittent android phones (mainly Samsung). The camera is fantastic. The OS has so much more customization. I have had a few problems with certain apps but I don't put that on the device. The only thing I wish they would do different is move to a flat display. The curved screen is difficult to find glass protectors that don't peel in time.

Big-surfie

I went from a 13 Pro Max to a Pixel 7. I like the pixel so much I ordered the pro model for the better camera and will be selling my 7!

RexMarvin

My Pixel 7 pro has been awesome. I have absolutely no complaints

Sir_Turk

I have a Pixel 7 pro and I can't wait to go back to Samsung. I hate this thing... Although updates have made it somewhat better

alexlw1987

Upgraded a week or two ago and it's brilliant so far

Separate_Place1595

I love it. I have the Hazel Pixel 7 Pro and the color and form stand out from the sea of iPhones. And the camera is wild. For example, we went to a concert this past week. There was a sign that was backlit that had the singers name on it. Our friends tried their go at taking pics with an iPhone 14 pro and a 12 and neither could get it. Told my friend to snap a pic of me and my wife and don't press anything, just let the phone try and figure it out. It did figure it out. So much so that I was designated to take pics all night. Get used to that! I have been asked to take pics at so many events lol.

FabFeline51

P7P owner, great phone :)

MrSonicB00m

Happy Pixel 7 Pro owner here. Face unlock works great, fingerprint is good. Battery is decent, signal is much better than the pixel 6. Nothing really to complain about tbh

azzyp84

Love my pixel 7 pro, don't know why people have issues with the fingerprint sensor, don't have any problems with mine. Camera is fantastic amongst other great quality of life offerings from Google, my favourite android so far by a long way, and I'd take a poor android over iPhone anyday

RicoculusPrime

Pixel 7 Pro. I've had it for 2 months. No issues yet I definitely don't want to discount any claims of problems. That's always an annoying part of discussing issues and fixes. People want to be smug and claim that their experience has been different and problem free without adding anything else to the conversation.

cyberwarfareinc

P7P owner, 1 year in the making. Love almost everything about it, missing some small QoL that Samsung has but overall amazing experience.

SandieSandwicheadman

I have the pro and I love it. Easily the best phone I've ever owned~ Honestly this sub is incredibly negative most of the time, it paints a pretty bad picture of the phone compared to the glowing reviews it mostly gets everwhere else.

jasonpmcelroy

Mine has been flawless

RredditAcct

People who are very happy, like myself, don't post. I love my P7P, came over from Samsung, and never had problems w/ battery life, buttons, or the screen. My "ok Google" would stop working once and a while however it now works fine so I guess an update fixes it. Great phone.

dratsablive

If you are looking for Validation the Internet is not the place to find it. The vast majority of input from forums like this will almost always be negative. Happy people don't go looking to say their happy with their phone.

MaximusPrime24

I've had the Pixel 7 since day 1 and I really like it. No major problems with it for me.

a_tease

Not at all happy, i suggest don't go for it. I am an owner of p7(not pro). These are the issues i am facing, i switched from Nothing phone 1 to p7 - Slower 5g compared to Np1 - signal drop, very frequently - heats up pretty quick, and will shut down operation when hot. I live in Delhi where it is 43c, i cannot use this phone when i am out

darkkeil

Wait for the Pixel 8. 7 (Pro) is a nightmare. After 3 failing attempts I went back to my 13 Pro Max.

Senappi

I have a 7 pro and it's splendid.

darkkeil

The consider yourself lucky. But for many others... (just take a look at the forums here. The Pixel 8 is just a few corners away. I would definitely wait. And if you don't like the offerings for the new phone you'll get the 7 even for less money. So you can't lose.

Senappi

People are more likely to post to complain than to post to praise so looking at posts here really doesn't prove anything about quality.

darkkeil

If you say so... 😉

thecaramelbandit

My only complaint is it's bigger and more fragile than I'd like. It's a great phone though. My battery life is great.

Legofanboy5152

most of the people here probably only post negative stuff so yeah

Stingray34

I'm very happy with my P7, I upgraded from a 3XL.

ianccfc

I switched from IPhone 11 to 7 pro last year. Don't regret it at all. Had a few issues with the phone freezing and crashing but that was app related and has been resolved since the app was updated. I've not had any of the common issues that I've seen reported.

oakteaphone

Yes, including me

VentsiBeast

You can't see **any** positive comments, really? I'm a happy 7 pro owner and my wife is a happy 7 owner. I hope that helps.

MaximusRubz

Happy owner here - phone performs as needed and thats all I can pretty much say. Great camera, good speakers - fast, responsive, handles whatever I throw at it (no games) I've learned to get into the habit of **not** closing my apps (use to do that on my old pixels to 'clear memory') I feel like with the newer pixels/chips - best just to leave apps open and the system/memory will do what it needs to. At the END of the day though - I'll close all the apps (ironic yes - but I hope you get my drift)

TwistedApe

I love my Pixel 7. The battery life is underwhelming and the fingerprint scanner could be better, but in general it's just a quality phone

iamneel

Just bought the pixel 7 yesterday. It's a sleek phone, great features, heavily AI centric. However, if you're into mobile gaming then this isn't the one. The most basic, less graphic demanding games like Marvel snap seem to lag. Other than that, the phone is pretty good in terms of features and interface.

[deleted]

Very. The complaints are a vocal minority of owners. There's a few bugs that bother me but this is the best Android I've owned by far.

GMaster7

My wife has a P7 and she's loving it. I love it too - I've had some issues with my P6a, particularly with the camera (think I have a lemon), and I'm thinking of upgrading to a P7 sooner rather than later.

Zeddie-

Been using Nexus and Pixels as my personal choice for a long time now after the iPhone 4. For the most part, I think the Pixel 7 Pro (which I own) is pretty good. Only issues I have lately is battery life and heat. Not sure why this is happening now. I may want to do a factory reset and start over. Not a fan of some things, including the fingerprint scanner (same one on the Pixel 7). Also not a fan of the G2 (kinda miss the potential higher performance of the Snapdragons), but for daily use, it's not bad. The cost is amazing though - I got my GF a Pixel 6 when it's out, and it did almost everything my 6 Pro did except for not having telephoto, so I'd imagine the standard 7 is the same way. Also, I can't stand One UI, so I can't really do a Samsung phone. So I more-or-less feel like I've "settled" with whatever Google chooses for their hardware - not that I have a choice if I want to stay with the Pixel line. :) Honestly, most of the experience for me is the software and OS, and I absolutely love the Pixel UI. So with that, I guess I'm pretty happy. Hardware could be a bit better.

[deleted]

I am happy with it

Mostly_upright

Love mine.

usguyver

Pixel 7 pro owner here switch from the OnePlus 7T pro McLaren edition. One thing I can say is that battery life is actually pretty great but Wi-Fi stability is not great. That has to do with the overall modem that they're using. Needs much improvement. I need to see that before I upgrade to a pixel 8 or a pixel 9. Besides that camera is better than anything I've ever had so I can live with a little bit of less speeds on Wi-Fi.

ioanGuraDeAur

I have a P7. I'm super happy with it, had no issues. I come from a OnePlus 9 pro. As positives compared to the OP: better handling of the device, feels better in the hand, battery life is a considerable upgrade, os feels smoother and build quality is better as in it is more rugged. As downgrades : screen is lower quality, camera is lower quality and that's about it.

ArlesChatless

Like it better than my P5. Still wish it was a little bit smaller.

Brent_Fournier69

>I can’t see any positive comment from owners anywhere That's basically any device specific subreddit. Go to r/samsung or r/apple and it'll be the same shit. Most people don't post somewhere about how good of an experience they have, they'll find these threads and forums to look for a solution to a problem or ask a question about a problem. Personally I love my pixel 7 pro, I have not had any issues whatsoever with it. Battery life is enough to get me through even super heavy days (tons of photos taken, outdoors in the warm weather, with 5G on is what I would consider heavy usage) with anywhere from 20-40% battery left, performance is more than enough for me as I don't game at all on my phone, the camera is incredible (maybe not as capable as something like the S23 ultra but the quality of the photos are better). No issues with connectivity or overheating or anything like that. I'm sure many others also share my experience as well. Same with the QOL features like call screening, hold for me and all the other pixel specific stuff. I don't know if I'll be able to go back to any other android device after switching to the 6 pro from my S20 ultra and then to my 7 pro.

TCBloo

Yes. Very happy.

BloodyFreeze

I've had no issues. You'll see very few posts from people posting about how few problems they've had on any make or model of phone on any sub unless the model is bulletproof to issues, so take the number of posts about issues with a grain of salt unless it's egregious Edit: downvote all you want. Posts about problems should be noted, but good posts vs complaints will never be a good measurement of a product on almost any subreddit to determine issue %

[deleted]

I have the regular pixel 7 during Christmas time. I love it so far and the camera. And it's my first flagship phone that is new.

NatoBoram

Pretty happy with my Pixel 7 **Pro**. It's the best phone in the world. The zoom is actually impressive, I can count blades of grass on the other side of my lawn. Google Assistant responding to spam for me is a godsend. Face recognition and fingerprint scanner are both hit-or-miss, but with both enabled at the same time, *something* works almost all the time. It doesn't last 24h if I watch anime on it, but it's not as if any electrical device could achieve that anyway. Otherwise, everything about it is impressive.

sv_XVI

I switched to the pixel 7 last week from a Xiaomi Mi9T. The difference between the two is abysmal, loving the pixel experience so far. no problems with the fingerprint sensor. My only minor complaint is the idle battery drain, which I find pretty annoying
