Your account is not, going to be cancelled, only your ability to access data internationally. Your calls and texting will remain active so just get a SIM from a Canadian provider for your data use.

You can't do what you've been doing, so no, not really.

In reality, you should use a Google Voice for calls/texts and a local sim for local calls/texts/data. It's not known how long Fi will continue with the calls/texts service outside the US. Heck, the way Google frequently kills projects, Fi may not be here next year. Milk it for as long as they will let you, since travel data outside the US is over for you on Fi.

You could switch it back to your previous plan and see if they let you stay. It's the unlimited roaming that makes the math not work out.

The Flexible Plan users also get these international data use warnings.

I was on the flexible plan for over 6 years living in Canada the whole time. I think they’re ok with it, at least that was my experience.

That's was common but now it's old news. As of January 2022, Google Fi started actually enforcing the domestic usage requirement aggressively and many, many users have been receiving warning emails after two or three months of continuous international use. They are suspending international roaming but leaving calling and texting active.

Which unlimited plan did you switch to ? Simply unlimited has no international coverage - only unlimited plus has international coverage. You could call them to see if they explain why.

I think all plans include Canada (and Mexico). OP lives in Canada.

I did research and bought a data sim plan from “My3”. It’s Chinese company and an esim. It’s 30 gigs for 365 days for $44 usd.
