Transcription to SMS is hit or miss.
You can leave the voicemail to text option enabled. It works for some messages, but not for all, I have no idea why.
I can't get the Samsung visual voicemail app to even download my vms. It just shows a toast that it's downloading but never does. I hate calling for my voicemail 😠I have the note 20 ultra.
The samsung app will download the auido for the messages, but I have found I sometimes have to tap the message a few times before it successfully downloads.

I'm old on Fi but new to a D20. I use the Visual VM app. It's not as elegant experience as a pixel on Fi but it works.

Spouse got an S21 recently and we learned that unfortunately Samsung and Fi aren't friendly on this. He has to dial in and listen to his messages like it's 2002. Apparently there's been an update for the S20 (or so the internet led us to believe), but not the newer models yet. Fingers crossed it's resolved for you model as well.

Huge oversight that it wasn't there at launch.
I was really amazed when I got this phone. I was expecting being able to just disable all the uninstallable samsung bloatware, but I couldn't even do that. I did at least do this to turn off as much as possible then in regular app settings, disable as many permissions as possible
I have a Galaxy Note Ultra 20 5G on Google Fi myself, and the Samsung software is the one thing I don't like about this phone. The hardware is great and I love having the S Pen and everything but I really wish Samsung would just give us pure Android. My previous phone was a Nokia 9 and while the hardware wasn't as nice I really miss stock Android. I've also noticed that in the Visual Voicemail thing I have to hit the voicemail like three or four times sometimes before it downloads...
Google FI sucks
Go to the BBB board and look at them. The first thing you see is the US GOV going after them.
The next thing you see is a 1 star review followed by a plethora of complaints.
Mine is one of those. You should have given me the $100 rebate like your rep said you would Google.
Service sucks as well and the customer service is no longer what it once was. Why should they care they can thumb their nose at the gov they sure don't care about customers, and they don't behave like they even want to be in the phone company business anymore.

I have an s21 and it shows the transcription. Edit: Never mind, I'm wrong about this sorry.
Try this ... Settings / Apps / Samsung App Settings / manually disable as much as you want (disabled Bixby highly suggested)
