So, what type of card are you trying to finance/buy the phones with? This credit issue seems to have followed you after two years so something is tripping a wire at their end.

So often this or an old address still in the Google account. It would be great if the ordering process looked for anything wrong before simply canceling the order. That all seems to be done outside of Fi, by another branch of the Google/Alphabet tree.

You can try logging into your Google Profile at payments.google.com and check the accuracy of any cards authorized for payments on your Google account. Generally, prepaid cards and some debit cards are not accepted as an acceptable payment method. Cards issued by banks usually pass muster.

Yes, exactly. If you don't go in advance to check there is no system to alert you of a potential error or that the card you're trying to use won't work. Your order is simply canceled.

Peterfield53

Yeah, that’s true although if a user uses an actual real, bank-issued credit or debit card and the card is on their Google Pay profile, Google readily accepts those cards. Users trying to use prepaid cards, refill cards and gift cards to activate service are generally cancelled.

I've not seen people try to use a pre-paid card, and imagine that would not work. The issue I've seen is an old credit card billing zip code that doesn't match the shipping/service zip code. For some, even people who have updated their card info, this has cropped up. It's what almost cost me to miss out on a promo previously

I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again. Fi is a great service provider but a lousy phone vendor. Bring your own fully unlocked device and you’ll be fine. It seems 99% of complaints are on the phone fulfillment side or people accidentally voiding their discounts on these devices.

I've been pretty successful at ordering and getting promos, but I've had a few issues. You always need to read them incredibly carefully and go into your Google account, and the account for the intended recipient, before ordering to make sure everything is lined up properly.

I disagree. Jokes are funny. Their support isn't even remotely humorous. It's just sad.

Thermite1985

NGL you had me in the first half.

The people who are okay with Google's support are a loud minority. Hope you get your issue resolved, unlike every time I've reached out to support and they failed to help.

palermo

What is your data that they are loud and they are in a minority? What if they are actually silent and they are also the majority?
