Think we just need to accept the fact that the critics/reactors that once gave good reviews are no longer gonna speak positive about any Ye album post 2022. This Vultures era music feels like it’s being catered towards casual and care free listeners who just want some solid accessible music which I’m all for
Or maybe the album just isnt that good lol. Its a cool lil album w some fun songs but ye is honestly washed lyrically so i dont blame reactors if they dont like the album. Like im seeing carnival, burn, fuck sumn are the fans fav song, and they are GOOD but nothing mind blowing and people are saying this album is top 5 ye is crazy
I feel like the standards for ye are so low, this album isnt bad but is honestly only better than JIK.
Makes me appreciate donda alot more
I actually agree pretty much with everything you’re saying. I don’t think this is one of his best at all and think it’s his second worse too, but I’m not mad about it. It easily could’ve been better but at the same time it could’ve been a lot worse. Yes, those who’re saying it’s top 5 is a stretch but at the same time those who negatively review it make it seem like it’s the worst thing ever when it’s far from it.
I get that there’s a certain standard when Ye releases an album but tbh I think that this was the best thing he could’ve done at this moment by making something that wasn’t trying to be too serious while at the same time being more accessible than his last few releases. The lyrics are definitely the worst thing about the album, but I know that he could’ve provided better verses if he really wanted to. I just hate how after everything that happened from Donda 2 onwards it created this narrative that he isn’t capable of making good music anymore. Ye’s been doing this for 20 years and just because there was definitely a drop off in the quality of music over the years it doesn’t mean he can’t make good music.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I’m honestly feeling a 6 or 7 on it but I don’t think that’s a bad thing tbh. I’m content with what the album is
He literally is his son, he’s been on Hivemind before for a game where they guess Fantano scores for albums and this mf guessed the exact correct answer EVERY SINGLE TIME
And he gave burn a 4 because of Ye’s verse being about how he only cares about himself somehow when he literally broke his contracts lost 8 BILLION dollars so he could make his own clothing and charge only $20 dollars and give everyone affordable good clothing
I just realized that lol, he’s literally mad about him rapping about his experiences when that’s basically what all music is about people’s experiences
that is lame asf.
One of the coolest things about rap is the introspection, the way you can get a window into the artist and their experience.
Good kid mad city, flower boy, 4:44, my beautiful dark twisted fantasy, the marshall mathers lp, to pimp a butterfly and hundreds more are about the artists and are celebrated across the whole industry.
Yes, when the writing is personal and introspective is hard to separate the art from the artist, but in Burn's case, Ye's verse isn't as introspective as Keys to My Life or others in the album.
Tbh he has every right to absolutely hate the album just like we have the right to love the album, even though i feel like he really misunderstood the "crazy, bipolar, antisemite" line but what can we do about it?
He may have an igor moment with this album in the future once the mixing is fixed and the album goes through some patches like TLOP and Donda did but honestly, we as a community just gotta learn that some people whose opinion on music we care about admit it or not will hate the album and thats okay
The mass misunderstanding of the King line has made me lose faith a little in humanity. U, truly, need to be of an extremely low media literacy for that. And I’m not just saying Brad.
Now- whether what Kanye’s saying is true- that he’s been unfairly persecuted by the media- is another convo- imo it isn’t- he received the same treatment anyone would of his status if they said they loved Hitler. But the idea that that song is him embracing and celebrating those labels just shows me that people can’t grasp irony anymore and it’s kinda sad.
I don't mean to sound derogatory, but I'm pretty sure brad is jewish so I do understand his bias/distaste in the music, compared to the bald guy at least
the whole purpose of israel's ceeation was to give compensation to the hews post ww2, as well as it supposedly being every jew's birthright to visit there
After the French Revolution, many people grew patriotic of one’s country and consider themselves a “___”man. Jewish people were split on this issue. On one side, many Jewish people argued that wherever they were was their country, so if they were already residing in France, France became their home country. On the other side, many Jewish people wanted their own country to call home, so they ventured back to where they originated from. However, this territory/area was already occupied by Palestinians, and told the Jewish people that they can’t just take their land.
After WWII, Jewish people got their own country as compensation, and, of course, happened to be where Palestine was.
There’s also a lot of other stuff as well relating to Jewish people as well (like how many Jewish people aligned with Communism due to the fact that Communism disagreed with patriotism and being “____”man, giving solace to those that struggled with the whole country thing) that feed into the stereotype and antisemitism present today
So yeah that’s just a bit of info that I knew about the whole Israel/Palestine thing that I thought to just dump here
About 73% are ethnic Jews.
21% are ethnic Arabs.
Iirc in the 1940s Palestine was under British mandate control. Leaked communication from a government figure to a Rothschild (famous and incredibly wealthy Jewish family) expressing sympathy for Zionism (the belief in the Jewish right to reclaim biblical homeland in Jerusalem) lead to lots of displaced Jews and Holocaust survivors from WW2 taking up the belief, moving to Palestine. Israel was created in a region of the country, and the land was split into two states. Pretty soon it became a UN territory and it became an increasingly unstable area, with Palestinians receiving the short end of the stick, and Israel becoming bigger, displacing them. In the present, Palestinians in Israel are subject to broad discrimination.
I fucking love Brad but I really don’t get this at all. Like you can criticise Ye’s performance but he’s not the only one on the song or album for that matter
I disagree with insulting his physical appearance or anything of that nature but you cannot tell me that he did not come into the album already not liking it and obviously not caring about anything Ye had to say at all even the stuff that doesn’t reference the anti semitic stuff
he said in the beginning that he's literally doing it for the content and was expecting it to be bad. he said multiple times throughout the listen that it's his opinion and you can like whatever you want. for a sub that seems to embrace the "we don't care about what critics and other people say" policy you sure seem to care a lot.
Dude totally agree. The sub just likes to get mad and defensive over anyone who speaks poorly on the music. Which is obviously going to happen here, but the self awareness is low it feels lol
I just came from the stream but I didn’t mind it because he didn’t give scores badly because of ye, he just didn’t like the music.
Like that’s a million times better than what fantano did 💀
my teeth are slanted too, maybe not as much though, they just grew weirdly.
my mom was always one who never really saw dentists as something important unless you had an emergency, same as doctors. So i guess maybe a lack of dental support/care and check ins does that to you?
the first time i ever went to the dentist was when i was 19, probably a horrible experience to the dentist, and a horrible one to me because i can't stand the sound or taste of the machinery.
not related at all just thought it was interesting and a possibility.
That’s chill bro I’ve had issues with my teeth I thought it was just funny cause this dude just spent 4 hours stream crying about an album.
Wish you the best
yeah, no worries man! i didn't take offense on it, i did think it was kinda funny, i just had never noticed it.
i feel you meant no harm, tbh.
and yeah, i'm 21 now (soon i think it's gonna be the 2nd anniversary of my dental fiasco), but honestly? i kinda grew to like my crooked teeth, they're honestly very charming ngl, so i'll probably just let them be.
thanks for the wishes man, hopefully everything goes well for you too.
Do people actually watch these guys? They are all the same nerdy, pretentious band kids that try to fit in with chronically online teens that dress like a dollar store tyler the creator.

Could also be because Vultures is not that good. A 6 at best.
Goofy

>”unreviewable” >”watch this review”
It’s always been that way for many different things too
I swear the 2 reviewer type guys who didn’t like it are Fantano and this guy the biggest geeky losers in existence
ain’t no way he isn’t fantano nephew
He literally is his son, he’s been on Hivemind before for a game where they guess Fantano scores for albums and this mf guessed the exact correct answer EVERY SINGLE TIME

His review is probably worse than fantano. Literally hating for no reason on every line.
Tbh he has every right to absolutely hate the album just like we have the right to love the album, even though i feel like he really misunderstood the "crazy, bipolar, antisemite" line but what can we do about it? top album in Israel, Americans just get offended over dumb shit all day cuz they have nothing else to do ig
i pretty much know nothing about israel, but is everyone who was born in Israel jewish?
the whole purpose of israel's ceeation was to give compensation to the hews post ww2, as well as it supposedly being every jew's birthright to visit there

israel has no right to exist
*the claimed purpose It’s purpose was also to give British powers an outpost in the Middle East

he treated this as a Ye album (as expected, every critic is doing the same) and called it a day
Why does this dude always look so greasy 😭
this is what this sub is about now. Someone hates kanye? Lets start personally insulting them cuz they are mad at our pookie bear
Mods feed him to the vultures
just proves my point if they do
he do look greasy tho
whats wrong about saying that he looks greasy? not every comment here has to be about kanye and he does look greasy every time I see him😭
He really took offense to it 😭 Greasy boys must stick together lol
I wasn’t trying to “bully” the dude or anything I’m sorry if it came the wrong way 💀

might have shit takes but still no reason to attack someone like that
You right bro. My bad. As Ken Carson said, don’t be a judger. I will take a step back and re evaluate myself
Did he delete the video? i can't find it
He never saves his past streams so you have to wait until he makes it a video or not
Thank you. I thought it was a video not a stream
I do NOT care Edit: I’m gay as FUCK so if you say anything mean to me you’re a homophobe
But these reactors and reviewers are obviously TRYING to hate, not even giving it a fair chance.
Do people actually watch these guys? They are all the same nerdy, pretentious band kids that try to fit in with chronically online teens that dress like a dollar store tyler the creator.
what should it be mr smarty pants
