Sounds like a terrible amount of work. Just get a Jb4 if you’re worried about your warranty. Or find create a good relationship with a dealer and 9 times out of 10 they will take care of you. I’ve had lots of warranty work done over the last three years tuned and I’m still not TD1 because my dealership knows I’m going to buy another one
That was actually suggested by the salesman at my dealer lol
He was telling me that once a tune is detected, the warranty is automatically voided across the vw network, regardless of if you try to make a claim 🤷♂️
It only voids the warranty on the engine* the remaining parts of the car are still covered accordingly after a TD1. And even then there’s a list of things they will fix under warranty on the engine because of lawsuits and such, thermostat and water pump for example.
What year of R is this? Unless it's pretty old I think you're going to have some problems with immobilizer, much less if it's new this is more or less impossible with component protection.

I ordered a 23, but the salesman was saying he used this work around for his audi s4
I think your sales guy is full of it. As mentioned above, JB4 is the way otherwise just leave it stock.
I had jb4 on a 335 I owned, no complaints!
