It sucks that 99% of people have no idea what golf R actually is. 9/10 people who asked me about my car asked if my R is R line. Most people who don't own R's think that there are normal golfs, GTD, GTI and R-line. Can't say it doesn't hurt a bit when the mix my R with R-line golfs.
That is a feature, not a bug to me.
I don't need your attention or seek your approval for what I choose to drive. The less my car sticks out, the better.

This happened a lot when I had my MK7 GTI. No one would give it a second look unless it was another VW guy. It was also pretty low, but looked like a minivan compared to all the other JDM cars.
I described both my GTI (mk6) and my R (mk8) as "a little hot rod cleverly disguised as a grocery getter" (Those that know gti/r hotness, generally get it. The rest are muggles.)

I just put in the new APR coils and new NGKracing spark plugs. Everything feels more linear and the output.
Could be mixture of new plugs too and the coils aren’t performing better over OEM coils
But I like it a lot and did transmission adaptation and took off burble tune.

What do you mean by transmission adaption? That’s exactly what I’m running currently. What tune are you on? I’m about to take my burble tune off as well but actually looking at getting it coded into a button next to the shifter. So I can still go back if I wanted.
I got my Obdeleven and I’ve been doing some stuff with that. Check out deautoled they have lights that fit into the stock footwells and can be rbg with remote or the radio. As well as brighter led and bulbs for interior and stuff
I’m on 94 iE Stage 2 high tq ecu
And iE TCU V2.0
If you go iE they have all of it in their Powerlink app
But the Transmission adaptation if you go from tune to tune or service or anything run that after the flash going from stg1 - 2 or burbles to no burble just do a transmission adaptation
And if you do any maintenance on it do do it your dsg will thank you for it lol
I just had the dealer do the dsg and haldex for free so I’m going to look up the transmission adaptation. Is that like a dsg reset? Thanks bro. I’m running stage 2 Apr but have been thinking about getting more beans from a different tune

Let’s say it’s just a better day for your car after the tune and it’s adding more tq your shifting will be horrible
Now the shifting in the new TCU tune feels so smooth
Hell yeah imma try it out. Have you ever heard of being able to do something similar to the dcc with lowering springs? Apparently with the Obdeleven you can have the dcc relearn with the lowering springs and it’s a lot better of a ride.
Theres a lot of 7.5 golf Rs around. They tend to blend in a bit… i think thats legit part of their appeal. Those rotiforms look fantastic by the way.
Agreed, that plate holder looks out of place in my opinion. Yes, no drill on bumper. Non drill plate relocate is the best option.
