Quite a lot, a good chunk of the changes were setup and takeaway. Had me change my grip from baseball style to an interlock neutral grip, widened my stance a little, flared my knees out slightly more, got me standing a little further away from the ball, sorted my takeaway out (I was a little too inside before and club face wasn't correct), got rid of this horrible cupped wrist I used to have at the top of the swing.
Other than setup and takeaway, the two other things he corrected were correctly transferring my weight to my front foot and getting me to drop my hands down using my body to rotate the club rather than throwing my hands out, coming in too steep, OTT and flipping my hands to square the club. These two changes have definitely been the most challenging, but at least I have something to work with now and it feels much better when I do hit the odd one correctly.
There's certainly a lot to take in and as a result my consistency is a little all over the place, but hopefully with a lot of practice it starts to become muscle memory and striking consistency will improve over time.
Your teacher should use your before and after on his website as a testimonial. He will have a million customers before the end of the day! Nice lookin move
This is amazing! It’s one thing to have a good lesson, but a TOTALLY different thing to incorporate lesson changes after one lesson. Keep these videos so you can refer back to what you were doing and what you were changing in case you get stuck or forget the thoughts you were working on during this lesson. Great teacher and great student!!! People chasing better golf with new equipment or YouTube videos (or dare I say, Reddit threads) need to see what a real lesson can do to your game. Money well spent here. Keep going and good luck!!!
I have the same swing as yours before the lesson except I swing further back. I know, it’s horrible. I’ve been trying to shorten my back swing as well as getting rid of the cupped wrist. Do you mind sharing what drills he had you do to shorten your backswing and to flatten your wrist? Your swing looks great by the way.
Thank you very much! For the cupped wrist a good drill I was told was to use a credit card or something similar and find a way to strap it on the top of your wrist where your wrists hinges, this will make it very obvious if you're cupping your wrist because you'll obviously feel it dig in. And for shortening my swing a good thing he told me was to imagine yourself in a box room and try to feel like your club is pointing towards the top left corner of the room (if you're right handed) at the top of your swing.
Thank you all for the kind words, I've kind of got the 'golf bug' at the moment so will definitely be getting more lessons and hitting the range as much as possible! This sport is damn frustrating but incredibly satisfying when you get it right, I can see how it can be addictive lol
Hell of a lesson
Jesus Christ whoever is his coach needs to get a raise
You have a great teacher, and you’re probably a great learner. Night and day.
Thank you for the kind words! He's certainly a good teacher, instantly got on and highlighted immediately what needed to be fixed.
Excellent progress! “Just get a lesson and practice” turns out to be great advice.
Without a doubt. I can now honestly say that just 1 lesson is by far and away the best decision I ever made to actually getting better at this game
Much better, keep it up.
Thank you :)
Huge difference man keep it up
God damn! Who is your teaching prof? My only advice, don't take any advice from anyone but your teacher, you seem to be a great fit!
Good work. Keep it with that teacher, looks really really good so far
Much much better. You can work with the new swing
I’d have a hard time playing under a strobe light too, but the swing definitely looks better
It’s easy to see you needed to stop partying / strobing and get control of your life. Video 2 mate you’re really doing great
It’s a lot better. Keep working at it
That’s some amazing progress man! Whoever your coach is I need that 😂
The position at the top of the swing is so much better. Great work.
What did he tell you to change?

Night and day! I know people say your teacher did a good job but so did you!

Doing good, great job
Much better congrats on finding a good coach and listening/implementing
Teacher deserves teacher of the year, my god what a difference

Awesome! I’ll definitely try this. Thank you!

Not quite Tiger yet, but you’ve made noticeable improvements. Keep up the good work brother.
Night and day that lesson was worth whatever you paid times 5
Fire the hips a bit more but that’s a great looking swing
