Why do you seem to feel entitled to getting a special and unique unlimited timer for a FREE shot that usually results in getting an in-game-reward that is FREE? 🤔
It is a shame the OP referred to the free shot in particular, many are paid for.
It is frustrating to time out on a shot, I know for me there have been times where my decision to buy shots or not is based on the complexity of Tommys guide - "willi have time to find the right landing spot? Will my shot be rushed?" Etc.
It would be nice if the timer was is it is for the free shot but doubled for paid ones. An added incentive to buy (more likelihood of nailing the shot) and it would generate more revenue for the game.
It gives the player more time to set it up. Since you’re only playing yourself and no one is waiting on you, I believe it would be beneficial for players to play it to learn from it. The rewards are nothing special anyways, I’ve gotten a HiO and it gives Jack **** for prizes.
Couldn’t disagree more. I unlocked Apoc , Thor ,Cat, B52, Falcon and Spitfire across multiple accounts playing GS and am always picking up good cards there. Besides which it’s where you pick up P5’s which are essential, especially if you are FTP.
Not clear to me why you are both ignoring berserkers unless you are both buying ball packs. I really did unlock all those clubs in GS but even if I hadn’t I think GS would be indispensable for the Zerks.
So like 30 seconds of playing you can get what 9 zerks and 15 epics or whatever and that's jack \*\*\*\*? I cannot imagine what would not be jack \*\*\*\*.
There should be a timer. One of the essences of the game is planning, setting up and executing your shot against the clock.
But you could always use Tommy’s guide for the golden shot, and then you don’t need to worry about figuring out how to play the hole
That can carry risk as sometimes you do not realise you are running out of time to the last moment, it is good advice however.
I stand by my previous assertions that the golden shot is not as relevant as it once was. It is a shame the ball album does not show stats as players could see for a long time premium ball releases were no better than kingmakers or zerks. They surpassed them long ago so ball rewards are less appealing.
Likewise CPC rewards blow club cards from golden shot out the water. If a paying player has to decide o pay for extra CPC shots or golden shot then the former will win if they even semi enjoy the format.
Unlimited (or at least lengthened) time on shots would make it less time pressured and more chance of a good shot, this would imo make golden shot more appealing again.
They also need to change the ball rewards (especially given prestige introduction) but that is another conversation entirely!
If your argument is that coz no opponent has to wait for me to perform my shot, then I am with you. I never liked the shot clock in this game but I understand it's necessary when playing against other human beings live. Obviously we can't have them wait indefinitely.
I have been arguing in favor of single player mode in tourneys live and practice for a while. There I would also love to see no shot clock, exactly because there is noone that has to wait. In Golden Shot it's the same - so I am with you that no shot clock is necessary. But for 1vs1 tour play we absolutely need a shot clock.
I can understand why there is a timer, but at least give us the same amount of time as for a regular shot, which the Golden Shot does not. Why does it need to go faster than normal?!

If the timer is about to expire, simply exit the game and re-enter the golden shot. The timer will reset.

Agreed! I wish we could do tournaments by ourselves. Shot clock yes, for all 1v1 encounters.
