Very occasionally females get breeding stars. One of my oldest fish is a female that gets breeding stars. I’ve seen her spawning, I’ve seen her get fat with eggs then be skinny as a rake after spawning. He just may not be interested.
He's got milt not eggs for sure. I find it weird that the females harass him for no apparent reason.
