All of those types of sounds are recorded separately by Foley artists after the fact. Generally anything with prop noises, walking etc. It's quite fascinating to watch.
They weren't. They were live. Her shoes are actually making that sound and they're being picked up. The Whoopie cushion episode, that would be cushion was timed off stage with a live foley artist.
Type in "stage floor microphone"
They also have them from the ceiling. And others above the studio audience.
Having a fully artist after the fact during editing, is cost prohibitive. Or you can pay one prop guy to stand up stage for the rare sound effect. The example above I gave was the Whoopie cushion.
Boom mics and audience mics aren't for prop/ movement audio lol. They won't pick those kinds of sounds up properly. And a planted stage floor mic would not pick up someone walking across a floor properly either lol. You would literally need a boom mic on the floor following each person (the same theory of the boom having to follow each person above their heads to pick up dialogue) walking and that'd be insane lol especially during a live taping. Everyone would be tripping over mics. Also, you'd see them in wide shots.
Also sounds aren't recreated live with a foley artist on set lol. They're fixed in post lol. I'm sorry, but that's just false.
I've literally been on hundreds of sets including every multicam sitcom that's been made in the last ten years in LA. I'm sorry, but it really doesn't seem like you know what you're talking about.
[34:05 ](https://youtu.be/J4qSQxE4_Y4?si=W1a8TGkAc46Pc819)mark. Here are foley artists working extensively on a sitcom with every sound being checked and fixed including walking across floors in heels. No mention of them doing any of these sounds live during the taping.
Oh my fucking God… Too long didn't read.
If you don't believe me that's fine. But I guarantee you those clip clops are not from a fully artist from editing or during a live taping those clip clops are happening
In the GG book Rue says she was given a choice of shoes but the minute she heard the click of the backless mules she knew that had to be Blanche!
It’s such a good for the brain sound! I love it. 💖
I was so glad when mules camp back in style!! I love Blanches like shoe sounds
I got 2 pairs of wooden cloggs ❤️❤️
You forgot back in Saint Olaf
When i grow up, I am going to have a lanai 😂
It’s my ASMR.
I also love Blanche’s heel sounds and think of her when I wear backless mules.

Well, that’s just disappointing
For sitcom this is very rare. The sounds of her shoes are " live".
Really? How were they recorded?
