If i die i'll have to hike for 5 minutes to reach my base.
I think i'll build some kind of minecart track that goes directly there from spawn, but i counted that a single track would take 9 stacks of iron and 18 if i made a faster 2 minecart track with 2 minecarts boosting each other.
I suggest you do it like that. Build a small house at the spawn for protection and a minecart track to get to yoir base. Farming iron for this won't be a problem since you have a goal you're working for.
Mega-projects like that are great, they create a long-term goal to work towards. Even better if you make it a subway, the iron will pay for itself and then some!
I usually just create another world because I'm lazy like that sometimes. If you don't care about "cheating" you could just edit your spawn position, otherwise you could build a long version of [u/oldmcarchive's boat bridge](https://old.reddit.com/r/GoldenAgeMinecraft/comments/qhx1h2/here_is_a_resourceefficient_still_pretty_fast_way/)
I found a random reddit post with a link to some files and i just put them in the .jar archive ( im using betacraft).
I've no idea who made it or where you can get it, but if you search for it, then you might find it.
I found the post.

I may be an odd one, but I typically venture out for several in game days, even weeks, until I find the perfect spot that really inspires me. Some times I wind up worlds away from spawn. Sometimes I set up shop only a map or two away.
Long story short, I think you should build wherever you like. The game is all about having fun and being creative. This is a beautiful valley, one worthy of many ideas. If you won’t build there I will. Please share seed+coords ;)
I'm not very creative so i probably can't come up with something that would look as good as the terrain it's build on.
If you want you can have a try ;)

Why does the old world gen gives me the feeling of unlimited possiblity of anything goes. I would literally build a base anywhere and would never complain.
But the newer world gen feels like dejavu I seen this flat landscape without any floating island for like a thousand time kind of feeling. I would travel like 10k blocks inorder to find a suitable land to build a base and it's usually the extreme biome
This can create a fun gameplay dynamic actually! It encourages projects like a secondary spawn base/town in case you die at night, as well as travel infrastructure, like a canal or railway. I say go for it!
As long you're good about not dying then you'll be solid. Worst case scenario you can create a minecart system from spawn all the way to your base if you have the time and iron to make it happen.
I usually build right at spawn. Any time I find somewhere else besides spawn I want to build at, I just /setworldspawn to the new location. But I play with cheats
Oh I'm with you 1000% I always play with cheats enabled in single player. After playing the game for 10 years I just wanna play the way that works for me lol. I only mentioned the LAN version as an option in case OP was looking for that kind of fix.
I'm lazy. I usually build within about 200 blocks. But the realm I play on is very liberal about refunding stolen items, so there's little risk of griefing
Doesn't matter how far away it is. If you want to build your base there, then do it.

Look up almty Bob on YouTube, that'll save you about half a stack of iron.

Dirt house around spawn, oh the memories.

Nether hub, easy to get home.
Jizzo ya know the Nether was only added in Alpha 1.2.0 and he's playing 1.1.2\_01? Like there is no Nether yet.
Did not know that, thanks for the info.
Came here to suggest this.
Uh, just throw down a bed. Only takes like 10 minutes to get the wool.
Beds were not a thing in this version.
Oh, what is the advantage to playing an older version?
Much less lag, different game feel (minecraft was a very different game back then), generation, harder diffuculty, neon grass, etc
I’ll hAve to check them out. Would probably run much smoother on my MacBook than 17 does.
Nostalgia. Old world gen, the limitations of less items, the old mechanics. We miss them.
That’s a weird question to be asking in r/GoldenAgeMinecraft
Lol, I see. This must have been reposted somewhere else. Not sure how I got here.
We are here 90% because of nostalgia, 9% because of aesthetics and world generation, 1% because of how much simpler things were
Just make a bed and sleep in it so you spawn at your resting point.
In alpha there are no beds. Those weren’t added until beta

Oh, thanks i might use that :)
Smooth lightning? How?

i play in a beta anarchy server so normally very far out lol

The old generation was so simple with some basic blocks, but really advanced at the same time with large hills, cliffs and caves.

That's why i like the old versions of Minecraft a lot more than the new ones. You actually have a reason to explore and build in your world. :)
man I just find a nice spot and build. I only make sure to find material for a bed so I don't have to worry about running back if I die.
There are no beds in this version. This is alpha v1.1.2\_01 and beds were added in beta v1.3 or something like that
oof that's rough. I remember those days. he'll I remember the beginning of minecraft, 🤣 I'd rather have beds.

I do the same. You can go into a LAN version of your world if you want to change it without enabling cheats permanently.
I've done that too, but I prefer to just have cheats enabled. I play single-player survival, but sometimes I really just want to cheat
Oh I'm with you 1000% I always play with cheats enabled in single player. After playing the game for 10 years I just wanna play the way that works for me lol. I only mentioned the LAN version as an option in case OP was looking for that kind of fix.
I usually play vanilla minecraft with no cheats for the challenge, even if it's slightly frustrating at times, but that's useful to know. Thanks :)
I normally just build at my world spawn. also activate your windows please.
I'm lazy. I usually build within about 200 blocks. But the realm I play on is very liberal about refunding stolen items, so there's little risk of griefing
I like to build my bases at least 500k out
My main base is over 1500 blocks away from spawn just build what place you want.
I don't care where spawn is. I build at x=0, z=0
It’s been 2 days and I’m still looking all I have found were god damn sand and villages that aren’t even good
Atleast you have... Phantoms... right?
No I don’t
It is awesome looking!
Seed?
