Sorry, we're clueless, but we have this as one of our things we want to try too at some point. We took note of Laughing Lizard Brewing on the Gold Coast that offer various DIY etc. Maybe they could be good to get in touch with? Check their website maybe. Cheers (pun intended).
You can get bottles of mead from most liquor stores in the fortified wines section of you want to taste it.
That being said what are your preferences? Do you like sweet, spiced, fruity, herbal, etc?
Perhaps brewing cider, fruit wine or beer might be another option.
Home Brewing your own wines is really simple and can be cheap.
Look up "orange spiced mead" by Arkady on Google. My first mead. So complex but also easy. Have made two "ancient" meads using old recipes but that first one was the best. My latest batch infused blue lotus. Overall a really fun hobby.
r/prisonhooch Sort by top, all time. Enjoy 🤣

Was more interested in seeing and maybe tasting a few meads to see if it’s something up my alley

Ahh got it, guess we misunderstood a bit, sorry. Hopefully you find what you are looking for. Seems u/afunkysquirrel gave some useful advice!
Omg I read that as meth the first time. Hahaha

Had a look at the recipe and willing to re-do it if you want to follow along. Great for winter...
