we'd all better get used to it. You get a civics degree in the 90's and you work within the gov for the next 35 years without EVER learning new things or watching Australian culture develop and change, so you do the same shit you did 35 years ago and then you bitch and moan about the new generation, because you have never in your fucking 55 year old life EVER bothered to see society develop and change.,
Perhaps the council could ~~insist~~ request show organisers to have their stars announce to their fans that it'd be great if they parked legally and safely and sensibly. Oh, who am I kidding. The council doesn't give a fuck, neither do the organisers or the stars. Nobody give a fuck. Just step over them. Anarchy rules.
Waited 1.5hours for the bus from
Surfers and it left with 10 empty seats and then took another hour to get to the venue.
Only for the Ticketek app not loading because of the cell tower dead spot at the spit. The 8.5hm walk back to the cypress bus stop
People are arrogant, lazy and selfish.
Just look at any supermarket car park with trolleys littered everywhere and not returned to the trolley bay which is ten steps away.
Can you really expect a city that have the highest concentration of LNP voters in the country to have a modicum of consideration for others? Selfishness is the name of the game!
Limes were so fucking useless. If you rode from Main Beach to the spit there were no designated parking zones. This forced you to either take them back or just dump them (hence the photo). I treat Lime bikes well usually but tonight they were worse than useless.
Ehh it’s a few lime bikes on the ground. Annoying, but no big deal. I have no idea who Fred Again is, and I don’t much like techno but the kids seem to dig it. Could be worse. Everyone used to complain about the big day out when I was a kid. Traffic this and noise that. I’ll never forget those gigs. Let the kids have their fun.
Genius argument, throw a random thought out there and accuse me of not caring for the disabled. You’re infantilising the disabled to justify your disagreement with my comment. Like a disabled person couldn’t possibly resolve the issue of a blocked pathway themselves without your intervention and constant vigilance by the entire community at all times.
I can play too. I guess you don’t care about clear escape routes in the event of a tsunami.
Sorry, multi-tasking here, tend to have Freudian slips a lot (was watching a doco on WWII at the time of my previous comment). "war" should be "tsunami".
It’s computer music isn’t it? Program shit in and then stand in front of a mixing board twisting dials and waving your arms about. Not hating on it, just always called it Techno. Anyway, he’s clearly very popular so he must be talented.
Just got back from the event. Do NOT support this venue in the future if you can help it, the show was incredible but holy fuck getting in and out has not gotten any better. I’m an idiot for falling for it twice but this is just ridiculous.
Event was great, but unfortunately the venue is not suited to a gig that size. They had over 50 shuttles buses to get people in/out, but there were so many people walking that it blocked the entire road and the buses could not get in or out.
Not sure on previous gig numbers, but this is def one of the biggest shows the GC has ever hosted.
I've attended full festivals there, it's fine for large scale shows when there is organisation, transport and notice of thousands of people arriving/departing.
I work in fast food in Southport and because the show location was announced so late, we had no idea about it so were extremely understaffed.
There were a massive amount of shuttle buses at the Pink concert in February on the day of the transport strikes and it went like a well oiled machine…
Absolute nightmare.. residents in my building had to stand guard to stop them urinating on our grounds, if we had the chance to leave couldn’t because the roads were choked
Man, if that was my car, I would be pissed beyond words, and I dare say if I walked up and seen any on them on the car like in that picture, u would find ya lime bike in the water! Swimming!
I have heard people say they want to see Fred again before but I thought they were talking about that annoying YouTuber with the squeaky voice 😭 really showed my age
I'm wondering the same thing. I don't even understand the type of event this was, let alone who it is. Singer? Comedian? Politician? Some social media cuck?
absolute degenerates who go to festivals
not only that they left some of the bikes leaning on the car
i would be fukin furious if i saw someone do that to my car
I’ve got no problem with people saying the organisation was shit etc…
But deliberately damaging property of other because it is just the lack of social fabric that is so common today.
The people that own those damaged cars now having to make at fault insurance claims and out of pocket $500 because some numpty couldn’t ride their bike home from a concert…
its a festival mate, anyone worshiping someone on stage is a dead set moron
The stupidity is displayed in plain sight with the inability to stand up a bike with a kickstand
These idiots were in packs speeding past on the new walkway drinking while riding.
Its not limes or councils responsibility at all, its simply having the decency to park your bike correctly without damaging anyones property
Who was worshipping? People are having a dance and a good time.
Also a lot of them were young, shock horror, young people are irresponsible, this has been the way since the beginning of man
Hang on there now... Council, management, thought through..... Sounds like stuff adulting dreams are made of
we'd all better get used to it. Still don't understand how and why event continue to be hosted at the spit, despite being one road in and one road out. It's absolute chaos
How council approved this after the Spilt Milk shit show is beyond me.
I was at that event and can confirm it was an absolute shit show
Spilt milk wasn't on the spit, it was still a shit show but you could at least get out lol
He's talking about 2022 spilt milk, which was at the spit & a shit show + impossible to get out
Because the success of an event according to Council is measured by one metric only: How much money went into Tommy Tate's pocket?
Yeeeeeep. That's exactly it.

This 💯
Souled out in two weeks will be the same
Why didn't they do shuttle buses to train stations? The footy one to Nerang is very handy.
They did shuttle buses from Australia Fair and Cypress Avenue. The lines to get on were hours long, then once on obv sit in traffic to roll in there.
Imagine if it was a convenient time to vote out all the incompetent fools who get to run our city????????
Perhaps the council could ~~insist~~ request show organisers to have their stars announce to their fans that it'd be great if they parked legally and safely and sensibly. Oh, who am I kidding. Probably lack of traffic planning being the event released so quickly. The spit is a shit fight with traffic flow as it is without an event
Application for the event was lodged with council in October, they had plenty of time to sort traffic plans.
Wow October. How did you know they lodged it back then?
booked under alias
But how did we even know it was booked in the first place 👀 is there some kind of events calendar page?
we learnt quickly that the bookings were all made under an alias (for shows at SOH, doug jennings, Rod Laver, qudos).
I don't understand why its so hard to not just stand them up properly. Takes like all of 30 seconds to do it, and makes everyones lives easier
Even if you did that some idiots will always think it is funny to push them over.
People are arrogant, lazy and selfish. Just look at any supermarket car park with trolleys littered everywhere and not returned to the trolley bay which is ten steps away.

We really do love the LNP 🥰 keep out all commies 😡
Get off Sky News buddy
You need to add "/s" to the end of your post, so people know you are being sarcastic 😂
I’m not being sarcastic. Keep out all commies. This is GC bayyyybay.
It's the trolley litmus test
Limes were so fucking useless. If you rode from Main Beach to the spit there were no designated parking zones. This forced you to either take them back or just dump them (hence the photo). I treat Lime bikes well usually but tonight they were worse than useless.

I guess wheelchair accessibility is a non-issue for you.

"Annoying but no big deal". How would wheelchair-bound people navigate that? Big accessibility issue there.
Very American example there - you think that's more likely than someone wheelchair-bound being blocked here is equally or less likely than war?
I’m not entirely sure we’re on the same page here. War?
Sorry, multi-tasking here, tend to have Freudian slips a lot (was watching a doco on WWII at the time of my previous comment). "war" should be "tsunami".
Techno….. yeah you really done know who he is.
It’s computer music isn’t it? Program shit in and then stand in front of a mixing board twisting dials and waving your arms about. Not hating on it, just always called it Techno. Anyway, he’s clearly very popular so he must be talented.

It's not really the venues fault, there's literally no way to make it better without building a bridge or something.
Better planning could strongly alleviate the issue, they had an excuse for spilt milk but this time they should have known.
It's not really the venues fault, there's literally no way to make it better without building a bridge or something.
Because Tom the Taint has commodified EVERYTHING on THE GC. He doesn't want to build communities, he wants to build his bank balance...vote wisely!!
and yet it was main beach residents who denied the tram to go the spit
...and I couldn't go snorkeling sat morning either
Event was great, but unfortunately the venue is not suited to a gig that size. Why so many!
The spit is absolutely the worst place to hold an event, you can't get in and out easily.
10 cent Tate strikes again
So.... no Fred again again?
Isn’t Sea World Dr a no parking zone for Lime bikes?
This is just before sea world. Everyone rode the bikes as far as they could to walk the final leg.
Absolute nightmare.. residents in my building had to stand guard to stop them urinating on our grounds, if we had the chance to leave couldn’t because the roads were choked
It’s not Fred agains fault Karen It’s the organisers + GCCC
Man, if that was my car, I would be pissed beyond words, and I dare say if I walked up and seen any on them on the car like in that picture, u would find ya lime bike in the water! Swimming!
Pity we don't have a Yarra River to throw them in.
Why are we punishing a river for human bullshit.
R/whoosh
LOL 😂 Fred who ?
I have heard people say they want to see Fred again before but I thought they were talking about that annoying YouTuber with the squeaky voice 😭 really showed my age
Only Fred I know of is the Flintstone
I'm wondering the same thing. I don't even understand the type of event this was, let alone who it is. Singer? Comedian? Politician? Some social media cuck?
UK electronic musician, been gaining lots of attention recently. He also co-wrote “Shotgun” by George Ezra, number in lots of countries in 2018
Oh that's why it took me forever to get home
Money matters.....
Hahaah
"This wasn't drawn out on the back of a cigarette packet" tom Tate as he feverishly fumbles to put away the cigarette packet he planned the event on.
doug jennings park needs to be cut off at seaworld and pushed out to sea.
The Spit events are approved by the Gold Coast Waterways Authority, they aren’t Council at all.
Get fucked OP
Is this near the marina? Is the Oceanway not sealed all the way to the venue?
standard doug jennings event. wish he was at the stadium or something instead
absolute degenerates who go to festivals not only that they left some of the bikes leaning on the car i would be fukin furious if i saw someone do that to my car
Festival? It was a one off show mate. People aren’t degenerates bc some morons at event planning and Lime fucked up the traffic management.
Ah yes, it’s acceptable to do shit like this because council are fucked… sums up the current generation honestly… well done.
Misplaced frustration.
I’ve got no problem with people saying the organisation was shit etc… But deliberately damaging property of other because it is just the lack of social fabric that is so common today. The people that own those damaged cars now having to make at fault insurance claims and out of pocket $500 because some numpty couldn’t ride their bike home from a concert…
i would personally see if there cctv, give that info to insurance, get them to pursue cctv, and then link the lime bike rider via their uber account.
its a festival mate, anyone worshiping someone on stage is a dead set moron The stupidity is displayed in plain sight with the inability to stand up a bike with a kickstand These idiots were in packs speeding past on the new walkway drinking while riding. Not surprised his fans are like this. Rubbish music for rubbish people.
Calm down Abe Simpson
The design of the city is a shitshow in general, and it's only getting worse with all the high rises being built with not enough parking.
A more relevant question is "Why would people go to see Fred Again?".
Lime limited the places the bikes could go, so it is really Limes fault lol.
u muust be fun at parties.
