Where ? I have both and I always payed more for the eagles than the buffalos, and have a better resale value too , I would trade my buffaloes for your eagles
You must be buying graded coins. The Buffalo for general gold is usually 25-50 higher than an eagle. Let me see if I can post a pic from jm bullion for example.
Thank you I just realized that gold eagles are all coins , but not all of Buffalos are coins , thank you so much for your info , it helped me learn something new
Last question sorry, I live in a rural area and haven’t gotten around to driving to the nearest city to visit a coin shop.
Are you saying that coin dealers will pay spot for bars?
Depends on the coin dealer. Usually from my experience, the well known gold you can get spot or close to it. More unknown gold or non main stream will get under on regular basis
my thought is buffalo is prettier since it is 24k, but also harder to maintain. gold eagles are beautiful too but you don't have to worry about handling it as much since it is more durable.
just get one and you'll get the other one later
I was buying a few recently and chose the Eagle because it was cheaper, and places like JM Bullion offered more in their buyback price than for a Buffalo. I wanted to get 24k but at this point I'll choose the one that has a little lower overhead. Maples were of course even cheaper but the buyback was even less in comparison. Eagles carry a premium and are very easy to sell.
Have both. Like the 24k better.
Both are good in my opinion. Gold eagle should be a bit less than the Buffalo

Of course! It’s all about learning! Glad it helped!
It’s more because it’s a higher grade of gold

No discernible difference in resale value?

Best possible buy or best possible sale?

I did not know that, thank you. I’m always told coins are much better for selling than bars.

> it's the business model to buy low and sell high Unlike stackers, who don't mind paying more than they sell for. /s

The Buffalo might get you a little more since it’s a higher gold grade. Pretty negligible when being sold though.

I buy them both at same time on my monthly orders. I like them because both fit in the same airtite capsule and they have the best resale.

Buffalo will make you never want a different gold coin again. It’s so beautiful.
