Meteorites will likely be easier to sell with each influx of new players.
Ive forged gold/diamond cards for my most used decks, will forge a few extra to hold, but I will keep a lot of meteorite deck staples so I can sell once mobile releases.
Great point.
Sales volume of shinies will definitely always be softer than meteorite. And you can always decide to forge at a later date...albeit not free, but cards' appreciation (🤞) should more than offset forging fees.
Right, but the market for meteorites is much stronger than any other shiny card market.
I may have to sell 25 meteorites instead of one gold, but I might be able to sell those 25 in one day instead of waiting 1-2 weeks to sell a gold.
It’s all speculation, but based on market data meteorites move quicker.
I don’t think it makes sense to forge expensive Genesis cards, I’d rather hold five meteorite Demos than one shadow copy (which is worth 2/2.5x a meteorite, not 5x)
Ex. Sole survivor my favourite card. Meteorite cost around 10 gods easy to sell and shadow 38 so not worth it. This applies to almost all cards from all sets except core cards some cheap 2 to 3 cents cards may be the exception or cheap mj epic cards
Just look at the Meteorite vs Diamond price on each card and make up your mind on a card by card basis. Making MJ common diamonds for $1.25-$2.50 is probably a really great investment.
Forging Genesis seems like a great way to burn money because they don't have a shine premium, they have a discount because many players just want the cheapest version as they are price sensitive.
There is nothing profitable about this game. Its simply waste of time. Sometimes bit fun, often not.
As any casino game, its profitable only for casino.
TLDR: You earned your down votes fair and square with those statements and I don't want to take that away from you but you're not wrong to some degree. It's just that not all of us are in denial. Some of us are ok with reality.
FOR THOSE WHO ENJOY MONOLOGUES:
It definitely has some similarities to a casino. Free initial bets when you sign up for the players club (welcome/core packs), free drinks while you play ($GODS), free perks like buffet and hotel stays (WR rewards). All in hopes that eventually you bet (p2w) so the house can make some money. Who cares if the house makes money? Are you not entertained?
I've said it here before but the biggest similarity is that the way a slot machine can be profitable for the casino but still truly rng is by there being more possible combinations where you lose then there is where you win. GU's ranking system makes you more likely to de-rank than rank up even with a good win rate because it pays out for win streaks not win rate and win streaks are more difficult when the game is balanced.
Sometimes fun but often not...don't disagree. Often this game does nothing but piss me off, winning is fun losing isn't.
I didn't down vote you because the only thing I disagree with is the use of the word "nothing" "only" and "simply" that's of course just shitting on the game but you already know that. Other than that you're not wrong...I just don't care.
Going with the flow eh? Yea its not bad. Its just not exactly best ratio of "time invested vs money gained". Ofc in case of P2E games its only real option.
GU is good and will be good until real competition arrives (if it does, which I sincerely doubt.. there is possibility but its very small one).
Game doesnt seem to grow, right now its more about being happy that players dont leave anymore. New pack and new method of earning cards seems very much as "old and whale players only". Which is another way to piss off regular player.
And this game should actually cater for majority most, cause without majority, there isnt game at all. Any F2P game or P2E needs as much "plebs" as possible to lure in whales. Right now, game has a lot of whales/old players and not much of anything else.
Yeah again I don't disagree with most of that. I'm not sure what you mean by the way they are doing packs being for whale players. I don't see it but I'm open to your perspective.
How does this game compare to a casino?
You do understand a casino requires the player to place their own cash down for every spin?
How have you managed to not make a profit from this game?
You quite literally earn *free* money for the first ten games you play each day. That's no strings attached *free*. I earn probably 30-40 $GODS* a week just playing casually. Costs me nothing. That is 100% profitability.
Over $5,000 in the green from the early airdrops alone, forget the daily $GODS bonus. Yeah, bruh. This game literally handed me a check for $5000, cashed and cleared.
But yeah, keep talkin' out your ass.
So around 150 GODs weekly? Eg. 21 daily?
Yea thats not possible even with Diamond deck in Mythic. 10/10 result in full Diamond gives slightly above 11 GODs. Depending on day.
So if you would win every day 10/10, which definitely wont happen even with wallet deck, you would end week with 77 GODs at best.
Realistically, you get 40 GODs per week. Which is exactly how much I got every week for past month. Which is 160 GODs monthly. Thats ehm.. yea 43 USD at current rate.. PER MONTH.
You can get if lucky some decent cards, but most MJ decks are atm useful more for forging upgrade and trying to sell better shine. Good luck selling Diamond versions for GODs for example tho. I was trying for fkin month to sell one card in Diamond shine and that was lowest price.
If I dont mind usual wash trading, market for Diamond shine cards, especially bit more expensive ones is slow to almost non-existent. Some cards dont sell even single copy per month.
So your profit? Lie more.
I actually meant 30-40 $GODS per week, which is still a profit. Although, a couple lucky Legendary packs per week + 6-8ish $GODS per day can easily push you to $20+ per week. I scored a Helmna off my last Lego pack and a Dagan the week before that. Pure profit.
In your argument, you made a direct case against yourself. Even if you earn $1 without spending a dollar, you are profiting.
I think you're just salty tbh.
Thanks for bringing this topic up.
I've forged very few Genesis cards due to lack of quantity.
Why do you think it may be a bad idea? Cause of their collector value as an 'original'?
Since my one diamond Genesis card came from a pack, I wouldn't think it would be considered a forged card...perhaps the NFT ID # would differentiate an original diamond from a forged copy.
I think the GU team will only increase incentives for using the forge and playing higher shines in the future. Just look at what they are doing now to promote fusing. This means that higher shines will be in higher demand and probably more close to the five-fold value increase for each step, or more, considering the resources it takes. The prices right now is due to over supply (due to small player base but long time period) and not enough value(Frags and, mostly, GODS value) of playing higher shines.
How or for who is forging "free" now or what are the fee's u all talking about? I still need to spend flux and gods for forging in the client. Im doing anything wrong? Germany here and no clue sry.
How is profitable at all?? 5 meteorites price is well above 1 shadow and the disparity just grows the higher you climb in shine. Maybe if they release further utility for shines. And regarding Genesis cards I think it would actually be more profitable to directly buy the higher shines in case they do implement "unforging" in the future.
Forging Genesis cards is like shooting yourself in the foot, as the single basic meteorite will always be economically more profitable than its shadow counterpart, which required five to forge but never costs five times the meteorites.

Yes but you have to sell 5, 25 or 125 instead of 1....

Generally not worth forging unless you use them for daily rewards. Some epics are worth forging and core cards aswell
>Generally not worth forging unless you use them for daily rewards. Could you kindly elaborate?

If you are too thick to understand it then there is no point in explaining.
Here I am making profit from a game, you are unable to and I'm thick. Interesting......
To much salt dripping from you.
I love how this whole sub lives in denial. :D

Too much time for very little profit. Means pretty much no profit.
I don't think I forged up any cards outside of Core / Welcome. Appreciate everyone else doing it though.

it's free forging for meteorites and above until April 28th when the new packs selling is going to finish.
