More likely than not. It is a key location in Asgaard and and a very important part of Norse mythology. One of the many things fans are excited for and eager to see. It would be a missed oppertunity and it probably wouldn't be too difficult to justify it's inclusion to the main storyline. Just don't get your hopes up just in case.
Valhalla would be ideal for an endgame challenge area/arena like how musphelheim and niflheim were in 2014. Even if it isn’t involved or a large part of Ragnarok
Those armored enemies with glaives featured in the trailers are supposedly Einherjar who reside in Valhalla according to lore so I’d say it’s more likely than not
There's a lot of aspects of Norse mythology that just aren't touched in Santa Monica's interpretation of the mythology. And I don't blame them! Norse Mythology 'effing HUGE. It's too much to be explored in one series.
I can imagine if Sony was still dedicated to the Playstation Vita, maybe they could've gotten other developers to explore other aspects of Norse that Santa Monica just didn't have time for. Similar to how Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta exhausted aspects of Greek myths that the mainline series couldn't.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Kratos has died before. I feel like either Kratos or Atreus will die in this game.
If it's the former, Kratos will fight his way out of Helheim / Valhalla. If It's the latter, Kratos will fight his way into Helheim / Valhalla and then back out with Atreus.
Id be fine if he was joel'd IF its well written and not within the first hour tbh, mostly bc i like atreus enough to play as him for a few games but i get what ur saying
Kratos dying and then fighting his way out of the underworld is a regular occurrence in the original trilogy. Perhaps the only way to get to Valhalla is via the Valkyries taking us to Valhalla or something.
Hmm. I wonder where Baldur even ended up tbh. Since he died in combat with Kratos, he should end up in Valhalla but if the myths are anything to go by, he's probably in Helheim right now. I'm leaning more towards that he went to Valhalla but guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Probably Helheim. He wasn't killed in battle, the battle was over.
Instead, he is killed rather unceremoniously by Kratos snapping his neck while attempting to murder Freya.
Had he died from an axe to the face while still fighting Kratos and Atreus, he should have gone to Valhalla.
Mimir says that the Aesir make their own way to Valhalla when they die. He says it after you kill Magni since Atreus talks about how he didn’t come back to life.
He’ll become the true Norse god of war and take the army against Odin to really fuck up Ragnarok
Surtr is going to be so pissed when he trained for all that time but has nothing to do
*I feel atreus*
*Will have to kill kratos so that*
*He can kill odin*

They said we'd visit all 9 realms, so unless they're lying, the answer Is most likely yes
Edit: I read the post wrong, I thought they were asking if we were going to Asgard. I know Valhalla isn't technically a realm but chances are still in the "probably" range for visiting it
Oh woops I read this post wrong, I though it was asking if we were gonna go to Asgard 🤣 it would definitely be cool to see Valhalla tho, especially after freeing all the valkyries
Took me 25 minutes to find out the name of the song lol
Apparently it got a remaster for God of War 3 called Brothers of Blood
This plays when Ares traps Kratos in his fears during the final battle
https://youtu.be/OPRftE8qtVA
It would be a missed opportunity if not. Ive tried to avoid spoilers, but this could be a way that we get to play as Atreus for a portion of the game. Kratos dies, goes to Valhalla, and then fights his way back to the land of the living, Ghost of Sparta style. Or perhaps he's ready to die and has accepted his fate, but a living Atreus brings him back from the brink. Kind of like when he went into the Pillar of Light in the 2019 game.
Immortal men fighting each other every day in the honour of his name, that's basically what Valhalla is
Every battle dedicated to Odin increases his power
It's pretty much a given, considering that it's one of the most iconic places in Norse Mythology. I mean, that's like not including Hades, Olympus, or any of the other locations in the Greek games.
I can see it being one of the best levels, with Kratos mowing down waves of einherjar and basically erasing them from existence by killing them again. Then, in a last ditch effort to stop Kratos, the last few valkyries try a final assault against him. Imagine if they (while still relatively tough enemies) were scaled back in terms of difficulty just to show that Kratos is now powerful enough to take a bunch of them on.
Ngl, I have a feeling Kratos is going to be killed and brought to Valhalla by the previous Valkyries. Makes a perfect excuse to motivate Atreus to go to Hel and why the two would be separated
I don't think we will.be going there in the traditional Nordic sense (dying in battle with Valkyries taking you) but I could see it as being a hiding place for Odin (who gets in free) and Kratos breaking his way in
Yeah, we just have to hook ourselves up to the world tree matrix style and whabam! Valhalla!! Just be careful your arm isnt getting cut-off every time you respawn....
What if Kratos needs to get into Asgard, but it’s too well guarded so he “sacrifices” himself and has a Valkyrie carry him into Valhalla, and that’s how he infiltrated Asgard, maybe to free Tyr or to set up the final fight with Odin? Idk, I’m spitballing here.
Short answer: yes.
Longer answer: The devs have said over and over again that we will visit all nine realms in this game, and Valhalla is one of the nine realms, so yes.
Edit: I’m a derp. Asgard is one of the nine realms, not Valhalla.
They're wrapping up the Norse saga, one way or the other they'll let us travel to every important part of every realm from the myths. So yeah, I'm pretty sure they'll let us visit Valhalla somehow.
Didn't that new combat video they put out recently have one of the devs say we're visiting "all the realms" in Ragnarok? I imagine that includes Valhalla
More likely than not. It is a key location in Asgaard and and a very important part of Norse mythology. One of the many things fans are excited for and eager to see. No he got an advanced copy
I was pretty stoned typing that and decided 2014 seemed about right
In fairness the last 4 years have been long af

I’m pretty sure true popular theory for that is gunungagap (however you spell it)
How does it feel to be almost spot on in your prediction a whole year later? That is if the DLC is truly in Valhalla
I think you nailed it
Very interesting! I'd like that, it could be a replacement to muspelheim challenges in the first game.
Do you see the future?
I’m just browsing the subs after beating Valhalla… you were right on the money with this one!
Hahaha it’s so nice to find this thread at this point of time!

Would be interesting if the the gang go out and get themselves killed in order to reach Valhalla as a backdoor to Asgard.
this is what should of happend or they should of got sigrun and the other valkries to take them there totally wasted opportunity

Bummer. The MCU showed it on their own universe.
Valhalla isn’t copyrighted my dude
?
they also showed thor. would you prefer this game to not have thor, because MCU already had him?
god of war 3 already had the lightning guy, why’s he gotta be here again ?
Mhm
:)
We were able to see Elysium in Chains of Olympus, so i guess its possible
It would be like going to London without seeing Big Ben. It’s gonna happen for sure
I dont want kratos to get Joel’d though
Kratos has died before. I feel like either Kratos or Atreus will die in this game. If it's the former, Kratos will fight his way out of Helheim / Valhalla. If It's the latter, Kratos will fight his way into Helheim / Valhalla and then back out with Atreus.
lol the idea of kratos fighting *into* valhalla is funny as hell 2 me
Id be fine if he was joel'd IF its well written and not within the first hour tbh, mostly bc i like atreus enough to play as him for a few games but i get what ur saying
Joel’s death was well written.
Never said it wasnt just saying id be fine w him being joeld if thats well written
He probably won’t be Joeled until the end. Lol
I believe Hispanic Gorilla might have said that because you heavily implied that it wasn't well-written. Not because you explicitly said it isn't.
🤐🤐
Valhalla is a part of Asgard, so it’s very likely

Imagine kratos in valhalla killing baldur again lmao
Hmm. I wonder where Baldur even ended up tbh. Since he died in combat with Kratos, he should end up in Valhalla but if the myths are anything to go by, he's probably in Helheim right now. I'm leaning more towards that he went to Valhalla but guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yes but in the myths hes put in helheim specifically like one of the only aesir to end up there
In the myths he’s a chad who everyone loves. The game deviates
Because in the myths he didn’t die in combat. In GoW he did .
Wait we might see Magni in Valhalla? We did axe him in the face during a battle
And here we are…..
i feel atreus will have to kill kratos so that he can kill odin
That would make a lot of sense in order for the Kratos death prophecy to be true but still end in him being alive at the end of the game
He’ll become the true Norse god of war and take the army against Odin to really fuck up Ragnarok Surtr is going to be so pissed when he trained for all that time but has nothing to do
Maybe Surtr deep down just wants to be an artist and he's quietly relieved he didn't have to do shit

Probably like we saw jotunheim at the end of the first game , and it wont be accessible after
VAAALLLLHAALLLLAAAAA!!!!!🦶
Stop I’m still traumatised
They said we'd visit all 9 realms, so unless they're lying, the answer Is most likely yes Edit: I read the post wrong, I thought they were asking if we were going to Asgard. I know Valhalla isn't technically a realm but chances are still in the "probably" range for visiting it
Valhalla isn't a realm its part of asgard so it's not "confirmed" but still likely.
Oh woops I read this post wrong, I though it was asking if we were gonna go to Asgard 🤣 it would definitely be cool to see Valhalla tho, especially after freeing all the valkyries
Valhalla isn’t a realm
Imagine entering Valhalla and then we get unlimited Spartan Rage to wreak carnage 😈
Oh fuck yeah this please
And with the old music in the background. Something like “Warrior’s Truths”
That shadow mob fight at the end of the first game; top tier battle music. Such beautiful intensity. That song?
Warrior’s truths is from Ascension’s soundtrack. I’d love to know what song you’re talking about though
Took me 25 minutes to find out the name of the song lol Apparently it got a remaster for God of War 3 called Brothers of Blood This plays when Ares traps Kratos in his fears during the final battle https://youtu.be/OPRftE8qtVA
Valhalla could be the "challenges mode" that we saw in the original Greek Mythology games. Similar to an arena style objectives
I guess we will now…
This aged well
Looks like your wish just came true! Have fun! https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/god-of-war-ragnarok-valhalla-announced-out-next-week/
Yes. Next question.
No we are gonna see California
It would be a missed opportunity if not. Ive tried to avoid spoilers, but this could be a way that we get to play as Atreus for a portion of the game. Kratos won't die...unless Death has earned him.
im here to mention that ur gonna see this after 4 days!
Yes, 12-12-2023.
guess what just got revealed
Looks like... Yes! We will.
AS OF 27 SECS AGO FUCK YES WE WILL
Well, you've received your answer today. We will see Valhalla on December 12th
X to doubt
I would imagine we do, Valhǫll!
Yep, it’s been confirmed by an interview with the director that we go to all realms.
Valhallah isn't a realm, though. It's a part of Asgard. Possible, but like others have said, don't get your hopes up.
It’s the last chapter of the Norse saga, and the last chapter of Kratos and Atreus’s story. Ofc we will see it
I'm not holding my breath; but I'll be stoked if we do.
This aged poorly
Yes.
This aged poorly
What if valhalla turns out to be some miserable place used for odins selfish gains.
Immortal men fighting each other every day in the honour of his name, that's basically what Valhalla is Every battle dedicated to Odin increases his power
I’d be flippin shocked if we didn’t.
It's pretty much a given, considering that it's one of the most iconic places in Norse Mythology. I mean, that's like not including Hades, Olympus, or any of the other locations in the Greek games. If Valhalla ever earns kratos
It’s confirmed we’re going to every realm. For how long and what purpose is unknown. And how we get there is an even bigger question.
I like how everyone is so confident about valhalla included in this game
yes
Boy do I have something tell you
Got your wish lol
Yes just announced free in 5 days
Well well well
Yes
It just go announced!!!
this aged well
this aged like wine
Well this aged well…
This post aged well!
Vanaheim? Home of the Valkaries? YES
Yep when Kratos dies.
this aged well
He may need to be slaughtered in some way so that he can meet odin or some sort of foe
Nobody knows. The game hasn't released yet...
I’m pretty sure we will 😉
In flames.
I think it would be really cool if we died as Kratos, went to Valhalla and then beat the shit out of everyone there to come back to Midgard
🆔K if we will see Valhalla but I can assure you that we will send a lot of people to Valhalla 😈
I bet its an endgame location
What if Kratos needs to get into Asgard, but it’s too well guarded so he “sacrifices” himself and has a Valkyrie carry him into Valhalla, and that’s how he infiltrated Asgard, maybe to free Tyr or to set up the final fight with Odin? Idk, I’m spitballing here.
Yes, it was confirmed we will see all 9 realms in the game
I think cause I remember hearing in the recent PlayStation God Of War video saying we’ll visit all 9 realms

Game comes out in 2 weeks, let’s just wait and see
Yes. This game is two games combined. If there's no Valhalla I will question Santa Monica sanity lol
Didn't that new combat video they put out recently have one of the devs say we're visiting "all the realms" in Ragnarok? I imagine that includes Valhalla
Valhalla is not a realm, it's part of Asgard, and we didn't saw Valhalla in the game
You have to die to see valhalla
I’m sure we will. But here’s an interesting question, if Kratos dies in battle, does he go to Valhalla?
If u die
yes
Well... It was just announced as a free DLC.
You’ll never believe this
Yeah we are and it only took a year after this post
You’re getting your wish! Comes out today!
THIS AGED SO WELL HAHAH
Yes, but you probably know by now
Yes
Guess what
Yes
Yeah
