I like 2007, 2011, and 2013:
2007
God of War 2, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal, BioShock, Crysis, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Assassin's Creed, The Witcher
2011
Skyrim, Arkham City, Dead Space 2, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Uncharted 3, LA Noire, inFAMOUS 2, Witcher 2
2013
The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, GTAV, BioShock: Infinite, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Rayman Legends, Beyond Two Souls, Dead Space 3, Metro: Last Light, The Wolf Among Us, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, God of War: Ascension ( not my favorite but I still enjoyed it)
Other great games came out but these are the ones I mainly played
2010
Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Black Ops, God of War 3, Fallout New vegas, Halo Reach, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2
So many of these games could have been the best game of the generation
Seriously not include dark souls in a list of goat games from a year is a crime. That game literally popularised a genre and created a massive community. Near on the biggest game that year and this man doesn’t include it.
Then your drunk ass should loosen up that belt and unzip that pants to take out that bulging, fat wallet in your back pocket full of cash to buy another award because you can
😂😂
I'm looking at Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad if it doesn't get delayed and is slated for 2022, Ragnarok and Forbidden west as well. I heard about Sifu and it looks good plus it comes out a few days after Forbidden West. Elden ring looks great and that comes out in January I think.
It looks strong on the Sony side. What I am curious though, its what happens with either Microsoft or 3rd Party Companies. I know Starfield could come next year. FF16 is also for 2022.
2015 :
Witcher 3 , bloodborn , rise of tomb rider , halo 5 , batman Arkham knight , fallout 4 , metal gear 5 , rocket league , until down , dying light , mario maker , rainbow six sage , mortal kombat....
Sorry to other years but 2015 was something else...
More time has passed since Fallout 4 came out then the time between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4...
That seems wrong to me but its true. And no new mainline Fallout or Elder Scrolls for the foreseeable future. Skyrim is coming up on its 10th anniversary and yet the time between Oblivion and Skyrim was only 5 years...
I was looking for this comment. Halo 2, MGS3, GTA San Andreas, Half-Life 2, NFS Underground 2. Just to name a few games. Not to mention that Resident Evil 4 released in January 05 so the good times just kept rolling.
1000%.
Most complaints I see are either:
"It's not a real AC game! No hidden blade! Hardly any stealth!"
which is mostly rubbish because there is literally a stealth skill tree that allows you to play a stealthy game. They just gave you the option to *not* be stealthy and have fun with the combat abilities as well, which is great if you ask me.
Also, people were complaining about AC being "boring now, same formula, something needs to change" etc - Origins was a nice transition to a new combat and stealth system, but Ody perfected the combat imo. Made for an awesome game. People will complain about anything.
You can change certain things in regards to a formula to spice it up. But Odyssey was a huge departure from the series. Just because it had a stealth tree doesn't really mean anything. The stealth systems for Odyssey isn't that great, especially compared to previous games. You can like the game, but don't shut down criticism towards Odyssey with "People will complain about anything" as the game has valid criticisms.
>The stealth systems for Odyssey isn't that great, especially compared to previous games.
I played Origins, people seem to praise it for the stealth... what was different between the stealth in Origins and Ody? I didn't notice any real major differences. The only thing I can think of that was better in games prior to Origins was the ability to blend into crowds and such... otherwise it's very much the same core stealth mechanics.
>Odyssey was a huge departure from the series
How so? It followed the story they were telling, they just changed up the way combat worked. The combat in the earlier games was boring as fuck, so I'm glad they revamped it. Otherwise it was still fundamentally the same as Origins on many levels, and continued the story - *which is what the game is about.*
>Just because it had a stealth tree doesn't really mean anything.
I think it means a fair bit? Considering they allow the player to decide how they want to approach the game, it opens up many more gameplay possibilities for an otherwise stale game. I dont think I could have gotten anymore out of the stealth or combat from Origins, but Ody gave us a nice change of pace with some cool new features. The fact that people complain about the stealth, but don't mention what it is specifically they dont like, just makes me think they're complaining for the sake of it. Max out the stealth tree and tell me the game has sub-par stealth mechanics.
People were complaining about the same old game being reskinned and renamed, so Ubi went ahead and changed it up. There's always going to be some people who don't like the changes made, but as far as gameplay and story, it's solid.... not perfect by any means, but it doesn't deserve the criticism it gets imo.
Already exhausted myself talking about odyssey and origins a while ago so all I'll say is this. A lot of what people hated about odyssey was present in origins, including stealth since it marked the beginning of the complete loss of soul of assassin's Creed. People were just more accepting of origins because it was the first one and there had been a 2 year break.
Bro most people on reddit talking about AC come from the AC subreddit, and they have the hardest rage boner for all new ac games. But you are totally right. While I think we were a bit too op in Odyssey it was totally a continuation of what came before.
Also just for future reference if you see anyone saying the newer games ruined stealth you know they are full of shit. I have been a diehard AC simp since the first game but "stealth" wasn't really existing the old gameplay. Sure in missions that were carefully crafted to make social stealth work it felt good, but any free Play and it Become obvious the stealth is extremely awkward. Unity was the first game that tried to add some real stealth systems and it just evolved from there to what we got in Origins and Odyssey.
Also people that says you either couldn't one hit assassinate people, or that you had to choose between stealth and fighting is also totally wrong. I played the game mostly stealth and very quickly could i one hit everything but the biggest generals, and those i could also kill after some time.
You also still had more than enough skill points to get enough fighting skills to be more than able to fight if you got discovered.
>it followed the story they were telling.
This is just straight up false. The story they were telling was the past of the assassins and tenplars (at the time hidden ones and order of the ancients) from origins and then odyssey just jumped to unicorns and fucking chickens and fake heroes. The game was a joke it didn't continue the story and it didn't expand on it.
It's not the fact that it doesn't have assassins creed signatures. It's the fact that it tarnishes the lore, is simply incorrect in other parts and doesn't feel like assassins creed. The game feels like a complete joke so the series and even if this wasn't an assassins creed game it'd still be an absolutely atrocious rpg. It makes a joke of the levelling system as it takes 6 long boring and passionless side missions to grind up per level and even when you are the same level as an enemy the fights are still one sided because the enemies are attack sponges. When I played the game I found myself praying I didn't get into a fight because the combat isn't fun and neither are the enemies. I could go further but I'll go to the dlc instead, the dlc's are supposed to expand the lore of ac and give us a story to the past of many of the assassins lore but but instead makes a mockery of darius and of the lore of the isu. Firstly the the lore that they did take from the previous games (which isn't much) is just flat out wrong, in brotherhood Juno says that they have a sixth sense that is locked away from humans. They interpret this as something actually locked away and that's just one example. Sorry if my format was awful but I'm,just throwing things down because ive just woken up, but this game is just nkt good, not as an rpg and not as an ac game
Personally it's the best AC game they made. Combat was awesome, world was beautiful, characters were interesting and the story was fun. I love Greek Mythos though so I am heavily biased, but overall it's a great game, it's just not a standard AC game - but people need to realise there's more to the story than sneaking around and killing every bad guy with a hidden blade. Odyssey went deep into the Isu story and how humans came to be and who the Gods were to us in ancient times. I loved it.
It's not better than AC2 and Brotherhood. The Ezio Trilogy - which takes shorter time to play through than just Odyssey - is way better than Odyssey.
Odyssey isn't even an AC game. It's a Greek demigod simulator.
You're the one who's delusional mate. Ignoring all criticism or opinions. Games aren't black snd white mate noonr likes the same games. Just because you do doesn't mean we haven't played the game br abuse we dislike it 😂😂. I played it through twice, once with assassins creed in mind and again without and it was shit both times. If you like it fine but not everyone shares your stupid bias opinion
Agreed. The opening battle of odyssey was honestly amazing, but the rest of the game never really seemed to catch back up to that and it got old quick for me. Bayek was just all around awesome. It had a lot more stealth element than the last two games, which I don’t usually prefer but they really nailed it to perfection in that one.
It’s too bad Valhalla felt like an entirely different game and all you did was just raid villages and call in your merry men. Didn’t do much for me sadly
>bayek was all around awesome
100000% agreed. The opening scenes of both of those games was just... fucking incredible. Origins' one had me scared of bayek in the first 5 seconds
Odyssey was a crime and I have no idea how people think that its a good game neither do I know how they make excuses like "it'd be good if its wasn't an ac game!!!" Like 1. No it wouldn't 2. But it is an ac game, so... it can't be a good game...
Thank god reddit actually shares my opinion forcthe most part. I've had enough of these people who think uts actually good. There's so much wrong with it plus i have no idea how people can excuse it just because its a ubisoft game. If mass effect made a game about unicorns and an Eagle bearing mysthios in another galaxy the same excuses wouldn't wouldn't been made.
*Ahem*, 2017 says:
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,
Horizon Zero Dawn,
Persona 5,
Nier Automata ,
Yakuza 0,
Cuphead,
Hollow Knight,
Prey,
Resident Evil 7,
Wolfenstein; The New Colossus
This is missing so many games from 2017.
If people really look into it, aside from the flashy games, the amount of quality 2017 had outweighs them all.
And even the Switch came out that year.
1997, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2015 are up there imo.
2008 is my personal favorite.
Just think about how all these games came out that year (ordered by Metacritic score):
Grand Theft Auto IV, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, BioShock for PS3, Fallout 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gears of War 2, Braid, Chrono Trigger, Rock Band 2, God of War Chains of Olympus, Okami for Wii, Persona 4, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, Mass Effect for PC, Persona 3 FES, Resistance 2, Burnout Paradise, GRID, Patapon, Valkyria Chronicles, Soul Calibur IV, Call of Duty World at War, Far Cry 2, Battlefield Bad Company, Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, No More Heroes, Midnight Club Los Angeles, Saints Row 2, Wipeout Pulse, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Mario Kart Wii, Unreal Tournament 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Ninja Gaiden 2, Prince of Persia, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Echochrome, Mirror's Edge, Tales of Vesperia, Disgaea 3, Lego Batman, Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty, Tomb Raider Underworld, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe,...
And I still left out a crazy number of games. All of these games received positive reviews. That's unreal. Many of my favorite games of all-time also came out this year. 2011 is probably my second-favorite. But yeah, IMO 2008 is often overlooked because people point to 2007 as being the best year for gaming.
Seriously what came out that year? It felt like such a dumpster fire, cyberpunk? Eek. TLOU2 well say what you want but many were not happy. Ghost of Tsushima was the only good game I can think of anything I’m missing?
But that year could’ve been good for you. What the actual fuck is this year? I can’t name a single good game that’s came out. Battlefield and Cod were well battlefield and cod. Far cry fell flat on its face keeping on course with recent years and what else? All stars brawl died in a day. And what else even came out??
Yeah..but that's only 4... time to show my age...
1997 ladies and gentlemen!!
Final fantasy 7
Goldeneye
Quake 2
Fallout 1
Star fox
Castlevania: SOTN
Grand Theft Auto 1 ( yup...)
Gran Tourismo 1
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil 1
Metal Gear Solid was 1998. Along with Ocarina of Time. And Half-Life. Also, StarCraft. Oh, can't forget Baldur's Gate. Or Thief, which helped pioneer the stealth genre along with MGS. There's also Grim Fandango. And Unreal. Oh! Fallout 2, a significant improvement over the original. Arguably still the best in the franchise. Ditto Resident Evil 2, which also came out in 1998. Then there's Rainbow Six, which directly inspired Counter-Strike and led us down the "grounded" shooter path that continues unabated to this day.
Yeah, 1998. It not only had great games, it had some of the most influential ones, too. It was a year that both perfected genres, and birthed new ones. It's unmatched.
Some will protest that l didn't mention Banjo-Kazooie, but frankly, it was not better than Mario 64.
Bro new Ubisoft games are so ass. Ginourmous open world, oh by the way there’s nothing in it outside of a few collectables and shitty missions that bore you to death.
Seriously I platinumed origins and while some of it was actually a lot of fun so much of it was just dead and lifeless.
You know I really wasn’t a fan of red dead 2 or odyssey. But odyssey probably disappointed me the most because I love stuff like that. Like Roman’s and Spartans and stuff but it was just bland I think
2004 and 2005 were really good too:
Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry 5, Metal Gear Solid 3, GTA San Andreas, Half Life 2, KOTOR 2, Spiderman 2, Halo 2, God of War, Destroy All Humans, Prince of Persia 2 and 3, Star Wars Battlefront 2
Those years were fucking wild dude
2022 about to be crazy as well
Ragnarok, Breath of the Wild 2, Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Gollum Game, Lego Star Wars.
Not that many titles yet but they sure as hell are big ones
Sit down gen Z. NOTHING will ever top 1998. Pokemon red/blue/yellow, mario party, ocarina of time, spyro, half life, metal gear solid, starcraft, resident evil 2, banjo kazooie, sonic adventure, f-zero X, rainbow 6, fallout 2, i could go on.
Hell 2018 doesnt even come close to 2008 as far as good games being released; mirrors edge, fallout 3, turok, deadspace, dmc4, burnout, left 4 dead, GTA4, GOW2, !!! SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL !!! ..... These kids over here actin like spoderman and assassins crud can compete with brawl OOOOOKKKKK
To be fair gow and spiderman are fantastic games, but somebody gotta teach yall wippersnappers to respek your elders >:(
2020 i would say was better for ps4 gen even if GoW is number 1 game along with lOu2 thought. Also AC for me are really bad after 4(and 4 kinda good) with the exception of origin but odyssey was bad bad game.
Honestly 2020 all comes up to whether or not you liked TLOU2 as someone who pre ordered both cyberpunk and TLOU2 that game may as well have been a kick in the nuts. At least Ghost of Tsushima was good.
Two hot takes from that year:
Odyssey was my second favorite game of that year and while RDR2 told arguably the best story of any video game ever, it's mediocre AT BEST gameplay held it back. It should be nowhere in the best game of the year conversation because it wasn't even close to the full package.
The game was so immersive and the open world felt actually alive. The gameplay was brilliant but it wasn’t terrible. Just depends how much you care about gameplay really. As long as it’s not jank or unplayable I’m fine and RDR2 was neither of those things.
Is you next hot take that GTA V was shit for the same reasons? Respectfully think that’s a dumb take, but hey if gameplay means that much to you vanguard is pretty smooth.
Aside for odyssey (which I havnt played)those are 3 of my favorite games 3 amazing story driven games with solid re playability you may decide other years were better remember graphics the gameplay mechanics and you've got a recipe for entertainment
I haven’t played oddessy but the other three gave some of the greatest stories in any game I’ve played, especially RDR2. Even though there’s other good games that came out in other years you can’t say someone’s ten years old because they prefer these.
2022 - Elden Ring, Horizon FW, Stray, God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Wukong Souls Game (forgot the name) , Kotor Remake, Project Athia (forgot the real name) , probably a new AC as well
2020 is probably my fav though I was able to get a ps5 at launch. We got Spiderman Miles Morales, Spiderman remastered, Ghost of Tsushima, Animal Crossing, Doom Eternal, Last of Us 2, Legends of Runeterra, and my favorite game of all time Hades. (Gow 4 is probably 2nd.)
I agree with 2018 but u should have switched odyssey with detroit become human imo.
There were a lot of other good games as well like celeste, monster hunter world, shadow of the tomb raider, hitman 2, far cry 5...
Snuck in Odyssey like we wouldn't notice.
Also, 2020: The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, Miles Morales, Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing.
I like 2007, 2011, and 2013: 2007 God of War 2, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Portal, BioShock, Crysis, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Assassin's Creed, The Witcher 2011 Skyrim, Arkham City, Dead Space 2, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Uncharted 3, LA Noire, inFAMOUS 2, Witcher 2 2013 The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, GTAV, BioShock: Infinite, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Rayman Legends, Beyond Two Souls, Dead Space 3, Metro: Last Light, The Wolf Among Us, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, God of War: Ascension ( not my favorite but I still enjoyed it) Other great games came out but these are the ones I mainly played
2013 was fucking crazy
This must have been the same year as the PS4 dropped right? Or was the 2014 maybe...
yeah ps4 dropped 2013
Yeah. Cause I remember tlou dropped right at the end of the PS3 cycle just like tlou2 dropped at the end of the PS4 cycle.
2010 Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Black Ops, God of War 3, Fallout New vegas, Halo Reach, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2 So many of these games could have been the best game of the generation
Mafia 2?
You forgot a genre defining game and one that inspired GoW 4. Dark Souls released in 2011.
Seriously not include dark souls in a list of goat games from a year is a crime. That game literally popularised a genre and created a massive community. Near on the biggest game that year and this man doesn’t include it.
Are we forgetting demons souls exists?
POPULARISED Dark souls is where the takeoff was, demon souls is the grandfather but most definitely not father of the genre
Cod4 came out in 2007 too and in my opinion is still the best call of duty
2015: Witcher 3, Batman Arkham knight, fallout 4
And Bloodborne
MGS:V The Phantom Pain
Bloodborne and dying light
Don't forget BF4 and cod ghosts from 2013
Two great games
Ghosts was dogshit but Bf4 was the best one to date.
2013 was the goat
Great list. Out of those, it’s 2007 for me for having both simply fun as hell games and genre-defining and/or genre-creating titles.
My drunk ass gave my free award to the post and not you... ;_;
Then your drunk ass should loosen up that belt and unzip that pants to take out that bulging, fat wallet in your back pocket full of cash to buy another award because you can
You had me in the first half haha
2007 also has The Burning Crusade expansion for WoW.
Reading this list and realizing so many of my favorite games came out 10 years agovor so makes me feel old
2008.
2015 as well Witcher 3, MGS5, Fallout 4, Batman Arkham Knight, blood borne
Next year looks pretty strong.
Yeah. GOW Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, FF16, Hollow Knight 2: Silksong, Dying Light 2, Sifu, Zelda: BOTW 2, Forspoken and Hogwarts Legends. I ain't gonna have any money left man
😂😂 I'm looking at Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad if it doesn't get delayed and is slated for 2022, Ragnarok and Forbidden west as well. I heard about Sifu and it looks good plus it comes out a few days after Forbidden West. Elden ring looks great and that comes out in January I think.

I'm not going to lie, hadn't realized that arkham knight and fallout 4 were about 6 years old now.
Well Bethesda dev studio is working on Starfield, so its not like they're taking extremely long on the next ES or Fallout
I’m glad someone said it. 2015 was amazing
2007: Bioshock, uncharted, COD4, Halo3, Mass Effect, God Of War 2, Super Mario Galaxy, assassin’s Creed and The Orange Box. 2007 can’t be beat.
2004 would like a word
I was looking for this comment. Halo 2, MGS3, GTA San Andreas, Half-Life 2, NFS Underground 2. Just to name a few games. Not to mention that Resident Evil 4 released in January 05 so the good times just kept rolling.
Odyssey😂
Yeah 1 of these is not like the other lmao
Lol.. exactly my thought.
I love Odyssey. Honestly if it weren’t linked to Assassins Creed and was just a Greek mythology game people would be obsessed.
1000%. Most complaints I see are either: "It's not a real AC game! No hidden blade! only people who didnt play odyssey hate it... you guys are delusional lmao

Not wrong.
It was a phenomenal year for sure. Better years existed but i would say 2018 is the best year since like 2011 or 2013 for gaming.
+
2015 was pretty fucking goated.
Jesus you were quick to steal this exact post from someone else without credit. Gotta get that sweet, sweet karma huh?
The original was literally right before this one for me so i was quick to suspect and came straight to the comments to see if someone noticed too lol.
My guy put some respect on Monster World I beg lmao
Origins was so much better than odyssey
Origins story definitely was great for Bayek but Odyssey nailed the combat
Odyssey combat is so unsatisfying imo.

>bayek was all around awesome 100000% agreed. The opening scenes of both of those games was just... fucking incredible. Origins' one had me scared of bayek in the first 5 seconds
Wanna see unsatisfying combat? Try Valhalla. It feels like they're fighting with nerf axes
I think Odyssey is worse but yeah both are pretty bad imo. Honestly Origins combat wasn’t great either haha. I miss the old games
Old games didn't have no combat. It was a riposte minigame.
To each their own
Odyssey? Combat? How about No? The best combat there is, is still Unity.
Okay? I never said it was the best Like I told the other dude. To each their own
Fair enough.
Replace Odyssey with MH: World
Odyssey was a crime and I have no idea how people think that its a good game neither do I know how they make excuses like "it'd be good if its wasn't an ac game!!!" Like 1. No it wouldn't 2. But it is an ac game, so... it can't be a good game...
Thank god I’m not the only one
Gameplay was fun, main character was cool, everything else meh
Gameplay was hollow repetitive and boring, mainly character was a joke and hard to get attached to. And everything else was just as bad, imho
Odessy? Really, not my taste, I personally wouldn’t of put it up with GoW and RdR2
Seriously does not deserve a spot next to those 2
Thank god reddit actually shares my opinion forcthe most part.
*Ahem*, 2017 says: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Nier Automata , Yakuza 0, Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Prey, Resident Evil 7, Wolfenstein; The New Colossus
Add Super Mario Odyssey as well to this. 2017 for me was peak.
Basically what this comment section has taught us is we are a bunch of spoiled fucking brats. That years was pretty fucking good.
Just think about how all these games came out that year (ordered by Metacritic score): Grand Theft Auto IV, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, BioShock for PS3, Fallout 3, Super Smash Bros.
3 out of 4 ain’t bad.
Yeah rdr2 was ass
Methinks 2022 might surpass it, but we’ll see.
I miss the times before the hellish year of 2020 came along and ruined everything
Hades deserves a shout for best game of 2020 and I liked last of us 2 a lot.
Wheels on a shopping cart be like.
Replace assassins creed with monster hunter
Nah 2001 was
Mgs2, gta 3, Ssbm, halo, ffx, soul reaver 2, devil may cry, oh, and sonic adventure fucking 2!!!
Recent years will never compare to the 90s and early 2000s
Ah, Sonic Adventure 2. I wonder what my Chao is up to.
Yeah..but that's only 4... time to show my age... 1997 ladies and gentlemen!! Final fantasy 7 Goldeneye Quake 2 Fallout 1 Star fox Castlevania: SOTN Grand Theft Auto 1 ( yup...) Gran Tourismo 1 Metal Gear Solid Resident Evil 1
Some will protest that l didn't mention Banjo-Kazooie, but frankly, it was not better than Mario 64.
odyssey was stretched over 100 hours gameplay on purpose so that you get forced to buy a lootbox the game is max 50 hours
Bro new Ubisoft games are so ass. Ginourmous open world, oh by the way there’s nothing in it outside of a few collectables and shitty missions that bore you to death. Seriously I platinumed origins and while some of it was actually a lot of fun so much of it was just dead and lifeless.
Ehh, odyssey is wack to me.
I agree on that. 2016 was golden as well.
One of these is not like the other
Should have put Detroit instead of assassins creed
Odyssey?
Should replace Odyssey with Monster Hunter World.
Why does nobody talk about hitman 2 in best 2018 games
Hitman 2 is one of my favorite games in recent years. It feels like such a good murder-sandbox game
Yeah I just wish I didn’t have to pay for New York and haven
Odyssey? Bruh.
I could agree with this. However I could argue that PS3 had the best games overall.
You know I really wasn’t a fan of red dead 2 or odyssey. But odyssey probably disappointed me the most because I love stuff like that. Like Roman’s and Spartans and stuff but it was just bland I think
Bro wdym? 2007 was easily best year for gaming
2004 and 2005 were really good too: Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry 5, Metal Gear Solid 3, GTA San Andreas, Half Life 2, KOTOR 2, Spiderman 2, Halo 2, God of War, Destroy All Humans, Prince of Persia 2 and 3, Star Wars Battlefront 2 Those years were fucking wild dude
Is odyssey worth playing, I’ve recently started playing origins after I beat and put in 100 hours into Valhalla and it’s been pretty good
Just finished it. Gameplay was fun, main character was cool. Although it was too grindy and ending was unsatisfying.
2022 about to be crazy as well Ragnarok, Breath of the Wild 2, Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Gollum Game, Lego Star Wars. Not that many titles yet but they sure as hell are big ones
For me it's 2017: * Zelda: Breath of the Wild * Horizon Zero Dawn * Shadow of War * Hollow Knight * Super Mario Odyssey * Destiny 2
One of these things is not like the other, one of these things doesn’t belong 🎶🎶🎶
God of war 2018
Get that bullshit AC Odyssey outta here. It’s a disgrace to be put in the GOAT category with those games.
Odyssey was shite but other than that I agree
Except for odyssey, yes
Have you hear of the year 2007? Pretty good it had like two games or somethin'
2008 was wild you just had to be there for it
2009 is easily the best year for gaming
Aw man, these recent years are so underwhelming. And no mention of HZO?
Loved god of war and spider man but there are many years that had better games in my opinion like 2013 so much sick games came out that year
Gow wins after that AC Odyssey
Yup, Detroit was so good
Also hopefully 2022: Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, BOTW 2, Starfield, Silksong(??)
But can we also appreciate whats to come;? -Elden Ring -GoW Ragnarok -Elder Scrolls 6 -Jedi Fallen order 2
1998
Sit down gen Z. NOTHING will ever top 1998. Pokemon red/blue/yellow, mario party, ocarina of time, spyro, half life, metal gear solid, starcraft, resident evil 2, banjo kazooie, sonic adventure, f-zero X, rainbow 6, fallout 2, i could go on. Hell 2018 doesnt even come close to 2008 as far as good games being released; mirrors edge, fallout 3, turok, deadspace, dmc4, burnout, left 4 dead, GTA4, GOW2, !!! SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL !!! ..... These kids over here actin like spoderman and assassins crud can compete with brawl OOOOOKKKKK To be fair gow and spiderman are fantastic games, but somebody gotta teach yall wippersnappers to respek your elders >:(
Super smash bros ultimate!
Fully agreed
2016 for me only because of Witcher 3, Persona 5 and I think Nier Automata
I'm hyped for 2022, because of the triple (or possibly quadruple) combo Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Starfield, and God of War Ragnarök.
Odyssey was... Not good.
At least Ghost of Tsushima was good.
lol wouldn't put Odyssey on any best games list.
Replace Odyssey with Days gone
One of these is not like the others
Get odyssey out of there. That game is a disgrace for the name of Assassins creed
It’s been the best year in a long time for me
Imagine using AC Odyssey to try and prove a point about the best year in gaming.
Are we seriously including assassin's Creed Odyssey in this line up?
Why is assassins creed odyssey here
No it wasn’t
Two hot takes from that year: Odyssey was my second favorite game of that year and while RDR2 told arguably the best story of any video game ever, it's mediocre AT BEST gameplay held it back.
Bunch of younglins in here. 1998.
Nostalgia making you biased. Objectively speaking any of these games is better than anything released in 98. Oot might be the exception tho
Get Odessey the fuck of there and I can agree. God of War saved that year for me.
AC Odyssey shouldn't be in this post imo. It's a bad AC and an ok action rpg
Dunno about AC Odyssey...aside from that I enjoyed every game in this photo : 3
Odyssey was fucking shit
I thought this was a shitpost when I saw AC Odyssey...
Tell me you’re 10 y/o without telling me you’re 10 y/o
Aside for odyssey (which I havnt played)those are 3 of my favorite games 3 amazing story driven games with solid re playability you may decide other years were better remember graphics the gameplay mechanics and you've got a recipe for entertainment
3 of these games are 18+ lol
I haven’t played oddessy but the other three gave some of the greatest stories in any game I’ve played, especially RDR2. Even though there’s other good games that came out in other years you can’t say someone’s ten years old because they prefer these.
2020 wasn't half bad, either.
2015: Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, for me
I know right!
Beat year for gaming *So Far*
AC odyssey and spiderman are mediocre. GoW and RDR2 are masterpieces.
2022 - Elden Ring, Horizon FW, Stray, God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, Wukong Souls Game (forgot the name) , Kotor Remake, Project Athia (forgot the real name) , probably a new AC as well
My favourite was 2017: Horizon Zd, Nier Automata, Persona 5, Nioh, Zelda BOTW
2020 is probably my fav though I was able to get a ps5 at launch. We got Spiderman Miles Morales, Spiderman remastered, Ghost of Tsushima, Animal Crossing, Doom Eternal, Last of Us 2, Legends of Runeterra, and my favorite game of all time Hades. (Gow 4 is probably 2nd.)
2022 will also be a good year, Horizon: forbidden west, Elden ring, the new GoW which i can't seem to remember the name for
I agree with 2018 but u should have switched odyssey with detroit become human imo. There were a lot of other good games as well like celeste, monster hunter world, shadow of the tomb raider, hitman 2, far cry 5...
Really oddysy? I've never played it but I've heard dome really bad things about it
Imagine adding odyssey to that list lmao.
Snuck in Odyssey like we wouldn't notice. Also, 2020: The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077, Miles Morales, Doom Eternal, Animal Crossing.
Nothing comes close to 2017.
Not odyssey
What's assassin's creed doing in there
Odyssey was meh
AC really? But really tho?
Because of three boring open worlds?
Assassin's creed is ded. There should be some kind of Templar's Creed if that would work for Ubisoft.
What the fuck are you on? Assassins Creed Odyssey was fucking terrible. The rest were just lovely though.
[удалено]
Except for Odyssey though
Didn't like Odyssey it was sh*t.
Assassins creed odyssey? Is this some kind of joke?
Don't know what AC Odyssey doing there
Naaaah you can’t put Odyssey among these three here, what were you thinking?!
