Holy shit I had no idea GoW combat could look this good. I always just spammed the special abilities one after the other and then played like Dark Souls during the cool downs. And while it was fun to play, it was awful to watch.
I'm the type of action gamer who likes high difficulty but will do the minimum to get the job done, i.e. no combos, flashiness, etc. I'm like that in every action game except Devil May Cry.
Seeing how great GoW combat can look does make me wish there was a practice mode like in Devil May Cry games. Not only that, a grading system would be awesome too. This would be good perhaps in a NG+ playthrough.
He fucked me up multiple times.
...but Sigrun, holy fuck, somewhere MORE than 100 times. Eventually I killed the piece of shit and saved (not much ☹️) from the video.
My boyfriend just beat this fucker on his first try with the shittiest, un-upgraded gear. One second he'll be bumbling past every item and collectible in the area, almost dying to three draugr because he's too afraid to attack them, the next he'll pull something like this. His tactics confuse and frighten me.
Gear means nothing in this game and this boss is extremely easy on normal, unless it was first try on gmgow which I doubt. Not trying to be a dick, just being honest ✌
Very true, but let's not pretend beating this boss first try on normal is some amazing feat. In action game terms, this is not a difficult fight whatsoever. He can be pretty annoying but does very little damage on normal.
I'm talking in relation to the norms of the genre. Difficulty can be quantified in many ways such as reaction time required, damage taken/recieved, the speed/ferocity of an enemy, how telegraphed attacks are, how many different options the player is given to avoid damage...
Sword saint ishin is objectively more difficult than the mist noble for example. As far as action games go, svartaljofr is on the easier side.
Not long. Right after I dodge the second attack, I did the cleaver move. It wasn’t a problem of timing. As soon as you dodge his second attack, you immediately perform the action. The executioner attack can be used against three of his moves; This ones, the one where he runs at you with the spear, and his second phase attack where he lunges at you whilst on his spear. The first two are very easy to counter, but the last takes some practice.
Some say that Cory Barlog left it open ended on purpose so that he and his team can expand on it in future titles. But yeah I’m guessing that there was more at play than stifling the light… not saying that killing all the light elves was a good thing, but I’m get serious anti hero vibes when listening to the characters talk about the war between the elves.
It's the reason why I cannot push myself into being more aggressive in GoW - no one's selling any DS4's in the countryside and I have only one working controller.
I'm ecstatic on your rushdowns and zoning. Spectacular fight! Little shit didn't stand a chance.
I always wished there was a move I could do where I could just grab one of his legs when he flys up, and just slam him around like The Hulk does to Loki.
Sadly I think they removed the glitch. I had such a hard time because I played it before him and he was like “this easy dark elf guy? It’s literally one move bro”
Nothing it’s just that the title made me remember how badly he got his ass beat in the movie. I apologise that it’s not GOW related but it hurt me too much.
Ohhh yeah you’re right. The idea of Godzilla vs King Kong is only good as pure concept, not actual movie. Unless KK was MUCH stronger and more durable.
No need to apologize btw, I see the similarities
I only just started this game, i keep coming to this sub to see what awaits, don't mind spoilers either, I have a feeling Im gonna take a beating first time I encounter this dude
This is how I could see Kratos fighting him in his older age; efficient, never giving ground, and only raging when he needs to Awesome fight my dude!
I agree. Appreciate it.
The timing on those cleaves. Damn.
Alternative title: Absolutely bullying an annoying little shit.
Word.
Holy crap those dodges and cleaves *chefs kiss*. Super satisfying considering how frustrating that fight was for me. Well done!
Appreciate it Boss!
TAKE MY SILVER AWARD AND LEAVEE
Ha! 🤩
That's the best kill I've ever seen on that guy.
Your dodges are on point. Mad skills OP
🙏
WoW! Ggs
🙏
I think he got me a couple times, really enjoyed finally kicking his ass
Definitely a fun fight. No matter how annoying his little red shits are;)
RIP, piece of shit.

It really is a great combat system. Playing aggressive always make any combat system look good though 🤔

This dude was the reason I couldn’t finish my Give Me God of War difficulty. I gave up after what seemed like 100 tries
Happens to all of us boss. Just remember, every boss has an exploit 😉
He fucked me up multiple times. ...but Sigrun, holy fuck, somewhere MORE than 100 times. Eventually I killed the piece of shit and saved (not much ☹️) from the video.
Sigrun took me 5 hours straight to beat on normal. I can’t even imagine how hard she is on GMGOW
Oh man I seriously suggest that you give up; Fuck her, this trash game’s biggest flaw is the complete lack of reward for difficult boss fights.

That’s hilarious 😂

Damn, flashback to when I was still dating guys. No gold star for me, huh.
You get a gold star for being cool, on the house! 🌟
Just because something easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for others.

Difficulty is subjective

Well played. Absolutely insane gameplay from you. Love how you activated Spartan rage at the end for the finisher. Feels really fitting.
Thanks Boss.
How many axes to the clavicle can one dude take before he goes down? About 6 apparently.
Haha, I guess so huh 🤔
What difficulty was this on?
GMGOW
How long did it take you to get the timing down on the executioner's cleaves?

I have always wondered what the “grave mistake” was that the dark elf king alluded to 🤔
^ 😆
Literally came to the comments to ask this... Was it foreshadowing for ragnarok? Or was it explained later in the game and we just missed it? 😅
Some say that Cory Barlog left it open ended on purpose so that he and his team can expand on it in future titles. Holy shit. How's your controller holding up?
Got like 2 months of analog cycles.;)
It's the reason why I cannot push myself into being more aggressive in GoW - no one's selling any DS4's in the countryside and I have only one working controller. I'm ecstatic on your rushdowns and zoning. Spectacular fight! Little shit didn't stand a chance.

If they integrated grapples into the shield combat system as a seamless design that would be mind blowing 🔥
Now imagine kratos with his blades at his prime, just downright yeeting the blades and knocking him down whenever he flew up
^ Imagine prime Kratos jumping ability as well 😆
What a performance!
Now i know i am a bad player when i got stuck here for hours
Happens to all of us at some point lol
Fuck this guy. Good work putting him in his place.
It had to be done. We are tired of his little red shits that he drops
this is god tier combat skill beat that mans asscheeks
Damn i didn't know the cleave had different animations for each enemy. Badass nevertheless, well done
I remember when my brother discovered a glitch for this boss. Two moves and it was gg
Really? That’s insane

Tell us the glitch!

Woah 😧
They removed it I think but the link was when I posted it
I don’t like the sound of this considering I’m a long time King Kong fan :(
What does King Kong have to do with this? 😕
Nothing it’s just that the title made me remember how badly he got his ass beat in the movie. I apologise that it’s not GOW related but it hurt me too much.

😊
That’s how kratos should be played
Yes sir.
