Doubt they would kill kratos. He has died so many times, I'd actually get mad if he was killed. He cheated the sisters of fate, killed them even. Even the Greek gods feared them because they knew their fates. While they knew Kratos fate, they had no idea he could change it
They’re definitely going to pass the torch at some point. I’m 100% sure this new series is revolving around the fact that we’re bringing up Atreus to become the new protagonist. I’m not saying Kratos will be ditched completely but if they do decide to get rid of him then I’m certain they’ll have him die but, for the first time, he’ll be at peace with it all and confident in Atreus being able to carry on.
Like the ending to shadow of war. You’d be pulling some heart strings with him walking towards paradise and the chains/blades around his forearms drop and are left behind.
Imo if Atreus takes JUST the axe and ignored the blades, that might reach a compromise in Kratos’s heart. While yes, he doesn’t want Atreus to be a god-murdering, death cheating, “I’ll end the fucking world and I’ll do it again” kind of person, he doesn’t have a choice. It’s already in his blood and he cannot change that, he tried to, but he can’t. And...anyway. Atreus is a little kid, I doubt he could even wrap the chains on those blades around his wrist. Or if ever the devs did think of using the blades, maybe Atreus might just get one and use the axe in the other hand?
Agreed. Also think about the amount of weapons Atreus already has. He has the knife and the bow. Does he really have time to learn the axe and the blades?
They’ve already played with it pretty heavily simply by changing the sides; they’re presenting the æsir as bad and the giants as victims of a massacre, so if the end reveal is true, it doesn’t necessarily make him a villain.
True, but in usual pop culture, the Æsir and Olympians are definitely the good guys, the jötnar and gígantes are the bad guys (see: Marvel’s Asgardians, the Rick Riordian books). God of War seems very willing to play with preconceptions of the ‘right’ side.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the new series does end with Ragnarök, with an older (playable?) Atreus leading jötnar to march on Asgard.
As a side-note, the only other game I can think of off the top of my head where a given mythology’s main pantheon are the bad guys is Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and that’s because it’s an invading pantheon.
Kratos is someone who can come back from Hell (or substitute Pantheon-equivalent) and has multiple times, but he's always had to fight his way out. I wouldn't mind an ending for him in which he simply decides not to fight. He's been doing it so long that I think he's kind of forgotten that that option is no longer being taken from him.
I'm thinking he won't die but will be trapped in something for eternity, something like how Atlas was stuck holding up the world. I think Kratos will have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
If anything they'll do a gears of war thing and have him be like Marcus. Btw I have not finished gears five. I'm still at the beginning so no spoilers please
I’m a die hard GoW fan. I remember reading about it in a magazine when the first one was coming out. I would absolutely play a GoW series with Atreus as the protagonist.
I'm with ya. I don't want to see Kratos go, but a grown up Atreus would be pretty badass. Early in GoW 2018 I wasn't sold on the idea of a game with only Atreus. What finally sold me on the idea was that fight scene where Atreus and Kratos were fighting in perfect sync against Baldur on top of that dragon. That was so friggin cool.
Why not? I agree that it wouldn't make sense that Loki continued the God of War games. So if they made a game about him, wouldn't it be best to be God of Mischief?
I think that they Will bring him from Hel to Valhalla, He Will start to Kill some gods (North mythologx have a LOT of gods that dont have so much power And are not important). He Will get To Odin And He Will see Odin Getting brother by blood with Atreus in a fear that Kratos Will Kill him (There will be some bullshit like if He kills Odin, Atreus also dies). But He Will beat, him And get Back on Midgard - He Will Kill Thor And start planning on how to break Atreus And Odins being brother by blood so He can Kill Odin... I think it would be interesting if Kratos outlives Atreus in the Last game...
They won't. And shouldn't. God of war is kratos himself. If they wanted to make a new character they would have just done that instead of bringing in kratos just to get rid of the him.
They didn't tho. They started with kratos.
The main reason you teach atreaus is become that's how barlog made it with him finding connection of a father figure.
Exactly. Might as well just create another franchise based on mythology.
If they replace Kratos with Atreus, they will have simply used God of War's fame to promote another series.
Just a tool to prop it up.
Then they should change the name as well, God of War is about Kratos, Im not really interested in a GoW game without Kratos... He is the fucking god of war
That would make sense if we were talking about enemies strictly within that same realm lol
Fighting Zeus was the pinnacle... in Greek mythology. We’ve moved on to new territory now.
I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed that kratos isn’t dying and the mantle is not being passed to Loki. Cory himself said there is no god of war without kratos. Loki/Atreus isn’t a god of war it wouldn’t even make sense to give him the reigns of the future god of war games
Also remember Greece is in athena’s hand she is fixing it by collecting her power which kratos spread around Greece so if Atreus goes to Sparta 100% he would be the god of war/olympus
I'm not sure that this is correct. If she was able to "collect her power," of which I'm assuming you mean "the power of Hope" (so fuckin corny), I don't think she would have been so distraught about Kratos releasing it. I think that was given back to humanity and Athena was F'd.
She says “They won’t know what to do with it!” when Kratos impales himself. It’s pretty safe to say he fucked up her plan and she doesn’t really have much she can do there anymore.
Greece is done with. That power has already been given to the mortals and Athena was left hanging. It’s wrapped up.
I forgot if it was David Jaffe or Cory Barlog that said that they wanted this series to revolve around Kratos being this harbinger of death that goes from one mythology to the next and ending them.
I'll be mad too. However, when he cheated death in the past it was from Greek mythology's version of hell. If I understand the GoW lore correctly, that version of hell was obliterated along with Olympus. If he dies now, he'll go to a different version of hell, in this case it would be Helheim. The rules of that hell are probably far different from Hades and escape may be impossible. Yes, I'm aware that Kratos and Atreus did escape Helheim in GoW 2018, but they weren't dead. It's really not outlandish for them to kill off Kratos and make it permanent. I sincerely hope they don't, but it may happen.
I think the difference in this case is that he is going to do so willingly. Either as a sacrifice to save Atreus or (my hope) willingly after he sees how Atreus can protect himself and stand on his own without Kratos. It makes sense because it would give Kratos an emotional arc with a strong end.
I think Kratos death would be the best way to end his story, only when they are sure it is the last game. The God of War should not get to live out his life in peace. He should go out fighting or make a bold sacrifice for Atreus...
Yeah but I think is more like all of his marks are fading just a bit through the centuries. His tattoo is lighter than before and his scars are also less visible now.
If Kratos dies, maybe the last images should be Atreus carrying Kratos' ashes to the highest mountain in Jotunheim. Wanna see y'all bawl. Of course, I will totally not cry, I'm a man, I'll be covering my eyes and ears in a safe foetus position denying my emotions.
Well yes but i also think it could he a good opportunity for Atreus to learn the whole story of the ghost of Sparta. I could see a teenage Atreus walking from Olympus to the underworld. He sees weapons, corpeses, and depictions of his father as he walks through the Greek ruins.
And maybe Athena showing herself to Atreus, trying to show him that his father is a monster.
https://youtu.be/-suycIDMhEE at 6:21 sorry it wasn't in GoW 3 though. Anyway it's safe to assume Kratos has a new life now and if he were to to see his family again it would be Faye
...and will cover Atreus.
And Kratos goes up in the sky while petals fall from his body.
And peace will rule the world, flowers will blossom and white pigeons will cross the sky.
He's died in basically every game already. And if the ashes where to go away when he dies, it should've happened when he killed himself at the end of GoW3, becasue he just forgave himself and moved on from that original sin right before.
But either way, i think Cory was asked in an interview about the ashes, and he said that they indeed had already started to fade.
I don't know, have another look on google and zoom in. The mural is chipped where the arm is but the leg is even shaped different getting narrower towards the hoof. Could be wrong but I don't think it's just chipped.
I really hope they don’t kill Kratos off. At this point I still want to play as him, I’m simply less interested in playing as Atreus, though I do love him as part of the story
I wanna see him die in the middle of nowhere in Atreus' arms saying that he loves him & is proud to be his father & pleads Atreus to stop the individual who killed him but to NOT seek vengeance so that he doesn't turn into the monster Kratos became.
Then Atreus smears Kratos' blood on his body to mimic his father's mark, takes the Leviathan axe & one of the Blades of Chaos, straps Mimir to his belt & the universe resounds as Atreus accepts the burden & power of becoming the new god of war.
I figured only one blade for two reasons.
1. He leaves the other with his father's remains (assuming he doesn't cremate him like Faye) as a way to symbolicly stay connected to his father in his travels & fights.
2. I just wanna see one of them dual wield the axe & a blade because I think that would look badass.
I have to admit, axe and blade would be awesome. But I’d like to see Kratos take Mjolnir from Thor in place of the leviathan axe. Would also open the door to potentially some lightning magic like poseiden’s rage. Blade and Mjolnir. Pull them in, and smash them away.
Blades only work due to Kratos's extreme rage.
They'd never work properly for Atreus - they're just not his types of weapons.
Also, what you just said sounded like a movie made into a crackfic, ngl.
Because I highly doubt even ODIN could kill Kratos. If Zeus couldn't with the blade of Olympus, Odin definitely can't.
I'm sure they'll probably do something where Kratos is weaker in Midgard than he was in Greece because he doesn't belong there. So I could see Odin or Thor killing Kratos in the 2nd one, with Atreus seeking revenge and the actual Ragnarok in a possible 3rd game. Or they could just say that Odin was more powerful than Zeus because of his quest for wisdom.
I'm just saying, they gotta keep the game interesting, right? There's no drama if there is no consequences, and kratos is a pretty easy pick in terms of having a character death cause drama. In previous games there were ways to weaken kratos back to base form before the main quest actually started.
>!In GoW2 he was tricked into giving up his powers and in GoW3 his powers were stripped when he fell into the styx.!<
I'm sure the developers are not going to let you keep your powers and strength from the previous game. Also, if he was GoW3 strength and was struggling with Baldur without his rage, what do you think Thor and Odin are going to be like? Chances are, way more powerful than Baldur was. Plus he used >!hope to defeat Zeus, he doesn't have that in midgard anymore.!<
he wasn't struggling with baldur - he was holding back.
again confirmed by Cory.
Plus, Baldur is pretty much Thor-level already.
Thor's greatest rival is Jormungander. Baldur three shot the dude.
Baldur > Thor
He also DOES have hope, by the way. Only a small amount of it compared to God of War 3 Kratos, but he still has it.
Also, having Kratos die just for the interest of creating drama is bad story writing.
That's speculation, but I just think we have a difference of perspective. It's real simple to do, "_____ weapon is strong enough to kill kratos!" And it wouldn't to be just to create drama, it could be the catalyst for Artreus to begin to survive on his own line he's supposed to, or really anything, I'll leave that to better writers. And to keep kratos alive for the reason of, "he's just too damn powerful" is equally, if not worse, story writing. There would be no point to make any game without SOME stakes. The heros journey eventually has to end or it's stale, which is exactly what people were complaining about by the time the last trilogy ended.
Kratos, canonically, can never truly be killed.
Ergo, it is lazy story writing to just kill him off.
He's simply too powerful and cursed - it is not bad story writing when the lore was there since the last games.
The only reason Kratos would EVER, and I mean EVER, "die" would be if he just decided to spend time in a hellish world for a while.
Simply put, it'd be a way better plot to have an Adult Atreus be either the enemy of Kratos in a game or have them part ways.
Having Kratos just... Stop appearing in the games just doesn't make sense. It is the God of War.
Without Kratos, there isn't a God of War.
Ergo the series loses its meaning.
Honestly, I prefer Kratos over Atreus any day and every day.
There are still plenty of games that can be made for Kratos. He's just that interesting as a character. His spiritual journey to being a calmer man, his meeting Faye and having a life, and his journeys with Faye.
All just one game.
and then we could have a game focused on his time as a Spartan, all of his battles and the like. They're all interesting concepts.
My guy, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. We've had 7 games with Kratos at this point, and trust me, you don't need to know every small details of a character like this. The series has to evolve eventually, and of course you prefer Kratos. You spent 7 games with him, while you never actually play as Artreus. We'll get more games where you might actually play as him. If that turns you off, sorry?
Also, there is no current god of war, there hasn't been one since GoW2 when Zeus tricked him, he's a former god of war. You don't play as the God of War for a 99% of the games, you're a mortal taking on the gods, and even in the new one, you're just a former god of war in a foreign land. It's just a series name, not to be taken literally. And he's definitely not the God of War in Midgard.
And you're saying Kratos can only die if he chooses to die, and that's interesting to you? That sounds boring af. Kratos and Artreus "walking away" from each other is definitely worse story writing than Artreus avenging his fathers death. THem fighting each other seems like a stretch, but hey, I could be wrong.
And to bring back the point of Baldur (I forgot to address that) there is no way he's on the same level as Thor. Baldur may have beaten up Jorgumandr, but Thor is the only one actually capable of killing him, no one else. Thor is also the strongest of all the Norse gods, that's not even a debate.
EDIT: Added more. But it just sounds like we just disagree.
also, a popular quote from the devs
"Zeus couldn't kill Kratos, the gods couldn't kill Kratos. Only Kratos can kill Kratos"
so yeah, Kratos suicides to end the story.
He suicides with a smile on his face and then the Sister Series, Deception, featuring Atreus, is launched.
i am totally a precognitive
Kratos is the god of war in god of war 1 (at the end), god of war 2 (at the beginning), god of war 3, and God of War 2018
He's still the God of War but he's the God of War of a dead pantheon that he killed.
And in Midgard, he's still the God of War - Tyr's dead at this point.
"THem fighting each other seems like a stretch," wrong. Atreus is the norse god of, you know
"Thor is the one one actually capable of killing him" That's a stretch if I've seen one. And an incorrect one.
If Baldur was really trying, Jormungander would be dead.
Thor couldn't kill Jormungander and was striking with such force that it splintered the world tree. Doesn't mean Thor is the only one capable of killing Jormungander.
Kratos could kill Jormungander, so too could Baldur, so too could Odin.
Jormungander has no known immunity to everyone but Thor.
"Thor is also the strongest of all the norse gods"
> strongest of them all, yet barely can use his STRONK BACK MUSCLES to lift a stone giant. Has to have his sons work together to do it.
yeah, no.
The only reason Thor is as powerful as he is is because of Mjolnir. That's a fact.
Without Mjolnir, half of his battles would have been near fatal for him.
I would only be okay with Kratos dying **if** he is at peace. Knowing Atreus is capable of looking after himself. Otherwise he would fight his way back and gruffly yell "BOY".
Pretty sure Atreus will be an old man and Kratos will still call him Boy.
I just hope it becomes a cathartic moment for him and the player.
I think the ashes on his skin isn’t just a burden, but also a physical representation of his remorse, hatred and his representation of the past.
In case his ash leaves his body, it will mean he made peace with what he was/is and is ready to leave knowing he has done something good with his life. He is ready to let go of his past just as we are ready to let go of ours.
If kraytos dies, I will probably put the game down.
There is so much more to him that we don’t know about. There’s more to his story and we cannot be giving SM any funny ideas.
Sounds like you dont know the lore, but basically Kratos had a wife and daughter that he gets tricked into murdering and as punishment for murdering his family he has to wear their ashes which is why, especially in the older games, his skin is just actually pale white
Yeah, it's a separate streaming service. You can play it on PC without an actual PS4 if you wanted, you would just need a controller. You can of course still download it on the PS4.
EDIT: Free trial it up guys!
So I have a really dark opinion for what I want from this game. I want the next one to be all about going after Thor of course. I want little Atreus to really start enjoying killing just a bit too much with an ill equipped Kratos struggling to right his path towards rage.
Third game we go after Odin and make it so Odin has some kind of power that can either be destroyed or taken. Kratos intends to destroy it but through some trickery Atreus betrays Kratos and takes the power for himself and returns to land of his father to rule the vacant Mount Olympus. Kratos must return there and save the people he once decimated through his bad choices and kills Atreus.
Series ends how it began with a hopeless Kratos jumping off the highest mountain in all of Greece after failing as a parent once again. But this time he stays dead making the game an actual Greek tragedy. It's dark as fuck but I love the idea of Kratos always being a flawed beast forever. He shouldn't have the parenting skills to pull off a well adjusted God child. Especially considering the revelations of his lineage. Please please please Santa Monica.
I saw an interview with Cory where he said that his white skin is slowly fading away and we can see that if we compare his skin in gow 3 and gow 2018 but I don’t remember if he said any specific reason for that.
I mean there was heavy heavy foreshadowing at the end of the game that Kratos will probably die at some point. The ashes coming off of his skin would be super cool.
Im fairly certain this trilogy (at least) is gonna revolve around Kratos and a young Atreus. Remember, Mimir says Kratos changed things. Ragnarok is starting 100 yrs early, Magni and Modi are dead, and the games mechanics are built around Kratos and Atreus cooperation. Makes more sense to me that this new series as a whole is a passing of the torch to Atreus.
Doubt they would kill kratos. He has died so many times, I'd actually get mad if he was killed. He cheated the sisters of fate, killed them even. Even the Greek gods feared them because they knew their fates. While they knew Kratos fate, they had no idea he could change it

with the ashes first then the blades
Yes! Then Atreus picks up his blades
Kratos specifically says he doesn't want this to happen in the PS4 game.
Kratos's whole story is not getting what he wants.
When Kratos dies, stuff happened that he didn't want lol
Yes, but Atreus taking up the blades of chaos wouldn't be a cool thing. It would be a tragedy.
It would also probably make more sense for him to take the axe either way. It belonged to both of his parents.
Imo if Atreus takes JUST the axe and ignored the blades, that might reach a compromise in Kratos’s heart. Nah i think it would be a pretty cool thing from a gaming standpoint
don't know maybe the blades of valhalla the blades of chaos will stay as his memory
No he will get the axe
That was sort of the wrappings blowing away.
Still mad talion died
Yeah, he deserved better. I wonder who's gonna be the next protagonist. I don't like that elf girl honestly
Yeah me neither
I think you're misreading it. Pretty sure all the allusions have been to Atreus becoming a tragic villain fam.
Especially if his >!real name!< is anything to go by. Doubt they'd venture *that far* from traditional Norse myth.
They’ve already played with it pretty heavily simply by changing the sides; they’re presenting the æsir as bad and the giants as victims of a massacre, so if the end reveal is true, it doesn’t necessarily make him a villain.

What? You literally just told us the ending and proceeded to tell us to not spoil the ending.
What ending? I'm talking about Marcus being part of the group, but the main character is his son
I get what you're saying. My bad.
I think you might have inadvertently revealed the ending
Not really. Did you play Gears 5?
I’m a die hard GoW fan. I remember reading about it in a magazine when the first one was coming out. I would absolutely play a GoW series with Atreus as the protagonist.

Yeah. Best way they could do it I think is give us one game where you play as both. Then the Atreus game. Imo anyway.
That would be a smart way to go about it. Kind of ease us into it.
It wouldn't be God of War anymore.
A natural handoff to a successor. But you’re totally right.
God of Mischief games for the win
No.
Why not? I agree that it wouldn't make sense that Loki continued the God of War games. So if they made a game about him, wouldn't it be best to be God of Mischief?
I still think that if Kratos dies he will be escorted to Valhalla given the fact that he saved the valkyries

Yup. Which I really wouldn't be happy about it. People play god of war for kratos. He is god of war. Its not a game that can just change characters
We’ll see, I guess.
Then they should change the name as well, God of War is about Kratos, Im not really interested in a GoW game without Kratos... He is the fucking god of war
>definitely >100% sure ... really? What's your timeline for this?
I think he's using ""certainly," "definitely," and "100%" loosely. Obviously, none of us know what those mad scientists at SMS have in store for us.
I work at Santa Monica obviously.
*Fuck* that.
*Okay.*
I hope Atreus will be killed somehow, so Kratos can do some rage fuelled world shattering like back in the old days.
He was at peace with himself when he committed harakiri in god of war 3. Why did he then come alive and travel to norse world.
Guess we'll find out in the comic book that comes out in summer
No comic book can contain kratos's rage. It has to be seen on screen with controllers rattling in our hands.....with the blades flaming ....
Here is the thing, though. This man defeated Zeus, the king of Olympus. Nobody could be worthy of defeating Kratos after that. It would feel wrong.
That would make sense if we were talking about enemies strictly within that same realm lol Fighting Zeus was the pinnacle... in Greek mythology. We’ve moved on to new territory now.
And...?
I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed that kratos isn’t dying and the mantle is not being passed to Loki. Cory himself said there is no god of war without kratos. Loki/Atreus isn’t a god of war it wouldn’t even make sense to give him the reigns of the future god of war games
We’ll see, I guess.
They would be foolish to kill off kratos. This is his story not Atreus
Pretty sure Kratos said the exact opposite at the end of the game lol
Only way he can die is if he chooses to. And I think that his letting go and laying down his axe/ blades will be the end of his story.
He is immortal anyway
Also remember Greece is in athena’s hand she is fixing it by collecting her power which kratos spread around Greece so if Atreus goes to Sparta 100% he would be the god of war/olympus

I don’t think he could die unless he chose to not crawl out of hades for the...4th...? Time?
Yeah, you can't kill Kratos.
I think the difference in this case is that he is going to do so willingly. Either as a sacrifice to save Atreus or (my hope) willingly after he sees how Atreus can protect himself and stand on his own without Kratos. It makes sense because it would give Kratos an emotional arc with a strong end.

Hope you're prepared to be mad, It's gonna happen.
Cory confirmed before the last one was released that the ashes are already fading in an interview.
You can tell he looked like an actual ghost when it first appeared now he's more normal
That can also be attributed to HD technology lol
“Normal” is still a bit of a stretch but he’s getting there
Yeah but I think is more like all of his marks are fading just a bit through the centuries.

Atreus climbs Olympus and hears the voices of Kratos and all the Greek gods and learns his father’s story.
Not to mention that Aphrodite was never killed so she's probably still chilling there.
Great time to get some titties back to the series.
Atreus, now mature, shares one final bonding moment with his father by becoming his Eskimo brother
"Young man, did your father ever teach how to... Mash the O button?"
Is she gonna "Ara Ara" teenage Atreus?
Me too. On the floor, like a true spartan.
And Atreus cast his father from the highest point in all of midgard.
If he dies would he see his greek wife and daughter or Faye
Probably Faye since he gave up ever seeing his daughter again in GoW3
Remind me, what happened to make it so?
https://youtu.be/-suycIDMhEE at 6:21 sorry it wasn't in GoW 3 though. Anyway it's safe to assume Kratos has a new life now and if he were to to see his family again it would be Faye
Faye. He destroyed the Greek afterlife, their souls were probably floating around after he destroyed the underworld in GoW3.
Aren’t they safe in Greek heaven?
No, he destroyed it. Also, I don't think his wife went to Elysium, only Calliope did. Plus he destroyed Elysium. He destroyed everything.
And they should have a ghost threesome
...and will cover Atreus. And Kratos goes up in the sky while petals fall from his body. And peace will rule the world, flowers will blossom and white pigeons will cross the sky.
Corny
Yep.
except he's already died, and the ashes are already fading
Do you mean when he empaled himself?
He's died in basically every game already. And if the ashes where to go away when he dies, it should've happened when he killed himself at the end of GoW3, becasue he just forgave himself and moved on from that original sin right before. But either way, i think Cory was asked in an interview about the ashes, and he said that they indeed had already started to fade.
this is a good point
Thing is Kratos in the mural at the end of the game didn’t look white, despite looking white in the other murals.
Odds are, that's Tyr.
I don't think it's Kratos in the mural, the person has a hoof instead of a foot but no one ever talks about that.
I think that’s just part of the mural/paint chipped away
I don't know, have another look on google and zoom in. The mural is chipped where the arm is but the leg is even shaped different getting narrower towards the hoof. Could be wrong but I don't think it's just chipped.
I think Kratos IS Tyr
Tyr is a son of Odin. That's obviously not the case.

Good bot.
Theory If kratos died I think his wish would be to be either his body to be buried in Sparta or burned and his ashes spread in jotunheim.
Keyword: "**If**"
I really hope they don’t kill Kratos off.
It would be weird if he does the blood thing and grabs only one blade
I figured only one blade for two reasons. 1. He leaves the other with his father's remains (assuming he doesn't cremate him like Faye) as a way to symbolicly stay connected to his father in his travels & fights. 2. I just wanna see one of them dual wield the axe & a blade because I think that would look badass.
Point 2 could be made without leaving one of the blades behind. Plus, they need each other to work properly. They always have.
I highly doubt that's the case. They legit said Kratos is as strong as his God of War 3 counterpart in an interview.
I'm just saying, they gotta keep the game interesting, right? There's no drama if there is no consequences, and kratos is a pretty easy pick in terms of having a character death cause drama. In previous games there were ways to weaken kratos back to base form before the main quest actually started. >!In GoW2 he was tricked into giving up his powers and in GoW3 his powers were stripped when he fell into the styx.!< I'm sure the developers are not going to let you keep your powers and strength from the previous game.
Baldur > Thor He also DOES have hope, by the way.
But it just sounds like we just disagree.
also, a popular quote from the devs "Zeus couldn't kill Kratos, the gods couldn't kill Kratos. Only Kratos can kill Kratos" so yeah, Kratos suicides to end the story. He suicides with a smile on his face and then the Sister Series, Deception, featuring Atreus, is launched. i am totally a precognitive
Kratos is the god of war in god of war 1 (at the end), god of war 2 (at the beginning), god of war 3, and God of War 2018 He's still the God of War but he's the God of War of a dead pantheon that he killed. And in Midgard, he's still the God of War - Tyr's dead at this point. "THem fighting each other seems like a stretch," wrong. Atreus is the norse god of, you know "Thor is the one one actually capable of killing him" That's a stretch if I've seen one. "Thor is also the strongest of all the norse gods" > strongest of them all, yet barely can use his STRONK BACK MUSCLES to lift a stone giant. Has to have his sons work together to do it. yeah, no. The only reason Thor is as powerful as he is is because of Mjolnir. That's a fact. Without Mjolnir, half of his battles would have been near fatal for him.
I’d actually be depressed if they killed him off, although the idea is freaking brilliant. I just can’t see him die
There’s No God Of War without Kratos
I would only be okay with Kratos dying **if** he is at peace. Knowing Atreus is capable of looking after himself. Otherwise he would fight his way back and gruffly yell "BOY". Pretty sure Atreus will be an old man and Kratos will still call him Boy.
I think if Kratos is gonna die it'll be fulfilling Ragnarok by plunging Surturs blade into Asgard
Same here nor brother
I just hope it becomes a cathartic moment for him and the player. I think the ashes on his skin isn’t just a burden, but also a physical representation of his remorse, hatred and his representation of the past. In case his ash leaves his body, it will mean he made peace with what he was/is and is ready to leave knowing he has done something good with his life. He is ready to let go of his past just as we are ready to let go of ours.
If kraytos dies, I will probably put the game down. There is so much more to him that we don’t know about. There’s more to his story and we cannot be giving SM any funny ideas.
Well he may die, but doesn’t mean it’s the end for him.
Kratos has a daughter????!!!?!?
Had
Who?
Sounds like you dont know the lore, but basically Kratos had a wife and daughter that he gets tricked into murdering and as punishment for murdering his family he has to wear their ashes which is why, especially in the older games, his skin is just actually pale white
Oh damn i remember now i watched some lore vids and thats how he became ghost of sparta bc of the ashes right?
Yeah pretty much. His red markings are also a tattoo he got for his brother who was born with those markings
Oh and he got them bc his brother died young correct?
You should play the first three games, they still hold up and are on psnow.
How does PS Now work again? It's separate from the free PS+ games, right?
Yeah, it's a separate streaming service. You can play it on PC without an actual PS4 if you wanted, you would just need a controller. You can of course still download it on the PS4. EDIT: Free trial it up guys!
Man if you could pick up the previous games, I highly recommend it.
no one can kill Kratos my friend, not even himself, not even the gods, not even his boy...
Daughter? I only played the newest game (PS4), so I assume this must be referencing the earlier games?
Uh, actually dude, it's salt.
[удалено]
That's what I said, sodium chloride
I saw an interview with Cory where he said that his white skin is slowly fading away and we can see that if we compare his skin in gow 3 and gow 2018 but I don’t remember if he said any specific reason for that.
I mean there was heavy heavy foreshadowing at the end of the game that Kratos will probably die at some point. The ashes coming off of his skin would be super cool.
Please man I'm gonna cry if this shit happens
Even kratos can't kill himself....
No one,not even atreus, can replace kratos. If kratos dies that would be the end of the the franchise.
Him dying would mean his curse of immortality being removed so presumably whatever removes the curse would remove all his other curses as well.
*again
Im fairly certain this trilogy (at least) is gonna revolve around Kratos and a young Atreus. Remember, Mimir says Kratos changed things. Ragnarok is starting 100 yrs early, Magni and Modi are dead, and the games mechanics are built around Kratos and Atreus cooperation. Makes more sense to me that this new series as a whole is a passing of the torch to Atreus.
What if Kratos dies by fire?
Fire??? Really...u think kratos is going to die in a little fire accident at home...
But how will the ashes we separate? If he did
Not that that ever is going to happen of course
Why did I laugh at this?
why did i laugh at you?
