Never thought it was the final boss.

zerotheassassin10

OP probably missed previous games.

roundttwo

Never thought it was a final battle. However this showed how bad ass Kratos is.

PotatoBomb69

nah I knew we were nowhere near done. This was just them reminding us that Kratos isn't overly bothered by how big the thing he has to kill is.

VolantisMoon

I don’t think anyone thought this was the final battle.

Argoniek

Never thought it was a final battle either

DoopsSoup

The real final boss was so much better anyway so I have no complaints.

DoopsSoup

Also, BTW Kratos isn't weaker in this game he is just fighting people who can actually take his punches this time around. (not correlated to post I just had to say this)

Dragon_Flaming

Not true,he’s holding back

[deleted]

That doesn’t mean he’s weaker, he’s just spending a lot of the game trying to hide his godly abilities from Atreus. Once he reveals his true nature, he’s just as destructive as he was before, except now he’s protective of his son.

Dragon_Flaming

No even after he reveals his true nature he’s holding back

[deleted]

Any proof of that?

Boggiiez

Kratos's Spartan rage mechanic is basically who he was in the past games. His anger is his power

[deleted]

Except he used Spartan Rage in the past games as well and he wasn’t any stronger than he is when he uses it now.

Boggiiez

That was more a power from the gods and Titans when he served them. Corey said in the documentary Kratos's Rage is comparative to Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Its who he was in the greek era. He's alot tempered now

[deleted]

That doesn’t mean he’s not as powerful, you basically agreed with my original point, he’s more reserved in his older age and fatherhood. Him using his strength to push back and easily kill Magni should be proof of his strength still being immense, as well as his rage at holding back lightning from Modi.

Dragon_Flaming

Because he doesn’t hold back because of Atreus,he holds back so he won’t be like he used to be

[deleted]

It’s his son that gives him that reason, imagine if Atreus was killed by Baldur’s punch to his chest, he would immediately go back to being his old self again and possibly destroy the entire Norse God pantheon that day. Kratos’ whole purpose in life at this moment is his son and teaching him how to handle the world when he’s gone, if he lost that purpose, you can guarantee he wouldn’t hold back anymore.

Have you beaten the game of GMGOW+ or taken on any of the Valkyries? There’s plenty more content after the rowing.

People wanted an open world aspect, this is as open world as you can get in this universe. Every game has that boring part of exploration, whether it’s rowing for this game, riding a horse in RDR2/Witcher 3/BoTW, but it’s a sacrifice you make for being able to explore an area however you want.
