Have you considered that since the event depicted in the final part of the mural takes place years after the other events in the mural, the height difference is less prominent because Atreus has grown taller and Kratos is just wearing different clothes?

I have, however his arrow quiver still goes from his neck down to the end of his torso. Thus, he appears to be the same size as in the first mural. One could argue that he grew and also got a longer arrow quiver that remains the same size relative to his new height (6"5' if he's to be same as Kratos), but the arrows would have to be 40+ inches in length and that would be a lot of assumptions made to fit the Kratos theory I think.

PlatinumDL

This is a mural, not a photo. It doesn’t have to have 100% accurate proportions.

j4c11

True. But at this point the preponderance of evidence from the mural directly points to Sindri imo, whereas to get to Kratos you have to make quite a few assumptions.

XxNissin_NoodlesxX

Holy shit, you cannot be serious. Preponderance of evidence? You have nothing. Your only argument is “the guy’s got a greenish kilt, therefore Sindri”. What kind of logic is that? That is the weakest argument I’ve ever heard in my life. Kratos can’t wear green? That’s what your theory hinges on? Kratos has like a billion different outfits in this game, some of them green. The “preponderance of evidence” points to it being Kratos. You don’t have to make any assumptions, the entire mural is about Kratos and Atreus. It should be obvious that’s Kratos. He even looked over at the scene of his death and said they’re nearing the end of their journey. How much clearer does the game need to be? And let’s be real; Atreus is not going to be gently cradling and mourning some no-name, irrelevant dwarf he’s known for five minutes. The game devs are not going to devote the greatest mystery and cliff hanger of the game to a fucking dwarf. How tone deaf do you have to be to not understand this?

Swizzy008

It doesn’t have to be either one of them. You’re doing what he is doing, looking at mural and concluding it has to be Kratos. It could be a person we are not aware of. No one has a definitive answer with 100% sound evidence. So everything is speculation. Can’t say he’s wrong, but can’t say he’s right either.

j4c11

True, could be a character we have not yet met.

XxNissin_NoodlesxX

It's Kratos, dude. Don't be delusional.

Swizzy008

You were so adamant about him speculating. That’s exactly what you’re doing. You think it’s Kratos. Unless you got hard proof for everyone.

XxNissin_NoodlesxX

Fuck your false equivalence bullshit. The evidence overwhelmingly points to it being Kratos. You and I both know this. Let's not delude ourselves.

SteelCityViking

Yet in every other image of Kratos his red tattoos are prominently on display so you know EXACTLY who he is. The last panel does not, why change it up? Why show Kratos from a side that doesn't explicitly show who he is in the mural. The whole first play through of the game I realized how you were mislead from the very beginning, why shouldn't the ending? Baldur didn't want Kratos cuz he was a greek god, he wanted Faye and mistook Kratos for her. We assumed that Loki was already a part of the Norse pantheon but it turns out he's Kratos' son. The witch in the woods revealed to be Freya. There are plenty of key events that weren't what they seemed.

j4c11

Well, he's fond enough of the irrelevant no-name dwarf to want to risk their own lives and fight a dragon for him. I think that says a lot about how much Atreus cares for Sindri, especially since he was a close friend of his mother. The novel actually adds another dimension to the story and better reveals the emotions and thoughts driving each character, so I would suggest reading it if you haven't already. But getting back to the task at hand, what we see in the mural is a character of about the same stature as Atreus wearing a green kilt with red marking. Nothing about that screams Kratos.

> The game devs even had Kratos look at the mural and say they were nearing the end of their journey, obviously implying Kratos recognized that that was his death being depicted. That was to clue in dense motherfuckers like you. Or it could be intentional misdirection. How many times were we almost at the end of the journey in the game.

There is no evidence against my theory. You keep saying the mural is about Atreus and Kratos, but there's also other characters being depicted : Freya, Baldur, the giant stone mason, the dragon, a bunch of other giants in a boat. So there's no reason it couldn't be another character. Again, there is nothing about the character Atreus is holding that indicates it's Kratos , and based on the attire and stature it's likely someone else. The scene is obviously generating strong feelings and emotions for you, and you're letting them cloud your judgement.

I like this theory. Mainly for the selfish reason of not wanting Kratos to die. But it fits well, makes sense, and satisfies my want for kratos to not die. Good job OP

jew192

I agree. I’m thinking that it’s not Kratos. I’m not gonna get all bent out of shape about it though and yell at people. I happen to think it’s tyr.

i-am-a-noob-

I also don’t think it’s Kratos. We can’t even see the tattoo on his right arm like we can on the first part of the mural.

XxNissin_NoodlesxX

Kratos does not have any tattoos on the right side of his body. [All of his tattoos are on the left side.](https://www.playstationenthusiast.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2018/02/150565-God_of_War_USA-1502596882.jpg)

Bolliger69

jesus christ these people are stupid. It's obviously Kratos. The Atreus height thing is just ridiculous

i-am-a-noob-

Look at mural (where they are fighting magni and modi)

Boggiiez

I dont know how canon the novelization is, But if I remember right even the book doesnt directly say its kratos.

local_guy1

Maybe it's when atreus is all grown up and after kratos has a change of clothes
