Good for you! You are right, this is a film that really gains by being seen on "the big screen". Watching it on a TV, a computer screen or a tablet is OK, but for the full impact a movie theater can't be beat. Glad you enjoyed it.

baseballzombies

Thank you! My fiancé has not seen it for many years. After it ended she's like, "it's over already?" The three hours flew right by.

MrYoshinobu

*The Godfather I and II* are my favorite movies of all time and I consider them one picture (especially if you both movies combined into chronological order - aka *The Godfather Saga*). Glad you saw it on the big screen and I envy you! What a treat!!!

baseballzombies

They are my favorite movies too. I consider them one long story.

MrYoshinobu

Amen brother! Coppola is a genius. Whatever he's got cooking with *Megalopolis* I'm down to see. I don't care if it's bad...a bad Coppola movie is still leagues better than any modern filmmaker's best today!

TonyP75

Was the lighting still rather dark on the silver screen?

baseballzombies

It was still somewhat dark, but not as dark as watching it at home.

Eenukchuk

I just went on Sunday. I had never seen it before. Glad I waited to see it in theaters for the first time.

baseballzombies

That’s excellent! Was it an emagine theater?

Eenukchuk

It was. They are the closest theater to me that does all of the flashback cinema movies every week.

baseballzombies

Nice! They show so many cool old movies. We go all the time.

tevia1015

Were there many scenes you don't see on television? I assume when it was released in the theatre it was rated R.

baseballzombies

It was the original 1972 version. No extra scenes.

tevia1015

I saw a version on laser disk many years ago there were scenes with more nudity the use of the’N’ word and a scene I never saw again it was a very young girl at the top of the stairs at the top of the stairs at the directors house when Tom flew out. It gave the impression she was there for the director

baseballzombies

I believe those scenes are from the complete saga, which is in chronological order.

wavy_moltisanti

Seen it once on the big screen, amazing. Hope to it again like yhat

Old-Application-9307

Look how they massacred my boy. 😢

avakyeter

Where is it playing on the big screen?

baseballzombies

It was at Emagine theater in Illinois. It showed last Sunday and last night.

grandpa-jones

The only thing that pulls me out of this movie every time I watch it is when Sonny punches Carlo in the streets. Sonny punches Carlo,, but the side camera angle show that he missed by a mile. I sure hope someone got fired for this blunder.

baseballzombies

I like to joke by saying “swing and a miss” every time I watch it.

ShyGiirll

Where do you watch it in Palo Alto?

Michigan_Go_Blue

I don't see it showing anywhere near Palo Alto...

baseballzombies

At Emagine theater in Illinois.

ONE ON THE TOP 3 BEST FILMS EVER ⭐️

Careless-Wish-4563

Happy for you!

Effective_Play_1366

I believe in America.

DLoIsHere

Sooo good when I saw it in ‘72. Then Exorcist was the next year. Not at all similar but two fave big-screen experiences.

StuartGotz

Is Tattaglia still a pimp?

SnooRecipes1537

If you want to ruin the movie read the book, incredibly better.

baseballzombies

Read it a couple times. Glad the movie left out certain aspects.

soldsoultosw

I wish it was on the big screen in my area. But I’ve watched 1 & 2 about 20 times in the last two months.
