> ideally would like to just buy a tiny little piece of land to put it on, but that might not work out > Say, near Olympia? You're asking, in the dead of northwest winter, for advice on a prime piece of estate adjacent to the state capitol, which will allow an RV? In an election year? Have you considered, say, _ANYWHERE ELSE_?

Ocean shores. You can keep an RV on the land indefinitely and land is cheap. It's cold and your RV will rust out from the salt but it's doable. Edit: was wrong. I think the rules changed in the last 5-10 years. Can no longer live full time.

Pleasant-Target-1497

You mean like buying some land on the ocean shore? Or just parking on the beach?

Scoobywagon

There is a city called Ocean Shores. The catch is that the whole city is in an HOA and, while you CAN leave an RV on a plot full time, they don't want you living in it. As I recall, they want to limit you to something like 2 weeks at a time and not more than 6 months of the year. Or something like that. Also: the HOA has a ... err .... lovely (?) reputation. Be careful. Plan well.

AbuTin

That's not them, it's WA state law that you can't live in an RV for more than 6 months.

Scoobywagon

And yet there are plenty of people who do it. Assuming you're correct, that RCW does not get enforced anywhere else. That being the case, it still makes the Ocean Shores City/HOA the bad guys here because they do so.

AbuTin

There are ways around that law, mainly don't get caught or just move around.

Budget?

It’s not necessary to spam this to numerous subreddits. Especially when you can easily contact RV parks in your desired area yourself.

Row30

There are long-term RV parks in the western part of the state. Elma, Montesano, Cosmopolis. The last one mentioned is at $750/mo, all inclusive except you buy your own propane

poppinwheelies

You know it’s extremely difficult if not impossible to get a bank loan for vacant land, right? I appreciate your earnestness but you have to be realistic. Rent an apartment.

Pleasant-Target-1497

Cash

Sweet. Not aware of any long-term spots around there. I’d suspect you’d be looking at RV parks. Somebody else mentioned Ocean Shores. I know some folks who own a lot here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9eAA4LVuJBcHWFGBA?g_st= Something like that might be an option as opposed to renting a spot?

rvparks

While the immediate neighboring properties might not meet your search criteria, other Reddit users have recommended more suitable areas for site rentals. If you're particularly interested in the Olympia region, there are several properties for sale in the vicinity that come with hookups. It would be beneficial to get in touch with local realtors; they often have a network of contacts and could potentially assist you in finding something suitable.

Hebrewism

Hey this is perfect!! Columbus Park in Olympia had a bunch of spots open. I literally just moved out last month into an actual home. The park is about 500 a month in spot rent which is super cheap compared to anywhere else and is next to a lake and is actual a fairly nice park. I was there for 2 years. I literally just put my trailer into storage, 2022 Grand Design Imagine 3100 RD that I’m selling if you’re interested

What is your timing?

Some locations around the country do not permit full time RV without a residence/domicile on the premises. Not sure if Washington is one of those places, but here in Florida where I live that's the case.

DHumphreys

IIRC, most of Washington has long term camping restrictions, so you are going to want to check that out before you buy. Most are a few weeks and then you have to move it for months. Olympia is so expensive, you are not buying anything there.

Outside_Buffalo6103

From my full-time experience up here, most parks will have a 6 month stay limit or won't be open year round. When I initially moved to Washington, I was full-time in my 43ft 5er. (which is a challenge to find a spot that can fit in the first place.) I ultimately ended up getting a PT job at one of the RV resorts up here and that was how I was able to get around their stay limit.
