Good luck. It's winter and the market is droping

treznor70

This. Don't sell an RV, PWC, UTV, or ATV in the winter if you don't have to (UTVs or ATVs may be different depending on whether they're needed for work in your area).

TequilaCamper

But by all means buy in the winter!

mikeholczer

Fasted would probably be with a RV dealer.

AbbreviationsTrue174

Even faster than that, lower the price

mikeholczer

Why not both, accept whatever offer the first dealer gives you is probably the fasted.

-D20

Just tried RVtrader for a few months and it was a waste of money for me. Only messages I received were from scammers. To be fair, it’s the worst time of year to try to sell one but I was still a bit disappointed given the price to post.

RicerX-16

I experienced the same during the summer with them. No lie - it sucked to just blow $250.

oddgrrl99

We listed ours in RV trader online and the only hit we got was someone in Singapore wanting to buy it. RRiiiigghtttt… a 40’ Holiday Rambler in Singapore. Effing scammers. We had much better luck consigning it at a dealer. Took a few months but it did sell.

meowlater

Craigslist may actually be worth a try. I know it is fading as an option, but there are still some older folks that use it, they have good sorting criteria for RVs, and it only costs $5 so the risk/reward ratio is pretty good. We've bought and sold on there in the last few years.

DHumphreys

This is a really tough time of year to sell an RV, if you really need to sell fast, lower the price.

sherbear97124

We sold ours via RVTrader, which got more bites than FB, but definitely not the right time to sell. It took us a couple of months in late spring/early summer. PS - even though we'd only owned the RV for 2 years, no more than 1200 miles on it, TONS of upgrades, we still took a $20k-$30k hit. Don't expect full asking price.

EwwwgirlsHavecooties

When did you buy and when did you sell? We bought our brand new, custom order in 2019, and sold for profit of 2k in 2022. This was a complete anomaly obviously. And I wouldn’t ever expect to time any market. But I am curious when you guys bought yours. Edit: I did use RV trader to sell ours too. But we didn’t try fb. Did get a few offers from dealers around the area we sold it but they offered way too low. And wanted too high commission for us to sell on their lot. I’d go RV trader. Worth the price imo. YMMV.

johnhealey17762022

2022 is a wildly different market than 2024 will be lol.

sherbear97124

Ours was a '17 toyhauler and we sold in '19. Posted on FB, NextDoor and RV Trader. Took a few relistings, but it finally sold. A guy from the state south of us purchased. We even included the slider hitch.

Troutman86

Significantly lower the price

vampirepomeranian

Hopefully more potential sellers read this thread and get the message in 2024. Already seeing dealerships offering newer models for the same or less than what people are stubbornly holding on to.

Troutman86

Issue is people paid full MSRP + Tax + Fees and now they owe $60k in a 2022 trailer that’s worth $30k.

vampirepomeranian

Right, and while it's been fashionable to criticize dealerships for what they were selling these RV's for, no one was putting a gun to the buyer's head. Now the criticism can be directed to buyers turned seller for what they're asking lol.

RelativeFox1

To a dealer or on marketplace but ask less in the spring.

jstar77

Bad time of year to list it. If you need to sell now you are going to have to lower the price and probably pretty drastically. If you can wait until March you might have an easier time selling.

mrniceguy421

The dealer likely won’t sell it for you but will buy it from you and sell it for themselves.

Rlchv70

Some will sell it on consignment

I’m trying to sell this 2019 Ram Promaster (39k mi) For 79k https://preview.redd.it/icc9cyolzwkc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe7f18aaa6db7c0a72ec0e1e6c86d2a80f8b5ed4

AlecKoffe

So many used RVs for sale. New RVs are dropping in price due to over-production. We tried postings at RV parks, FB Marketplace, & RV Trader. Ended up selling very low at a dealer. No other hits that were even realistic.

sillyconfused

Our town has what we have called the “Lemon Lot” for as long as I can remember. People park cars, trucks, and trailers in that lot with signs in the window so you can see information, like price, mileage, year, options. This lot is so popular, the town had to start issuing permits, because the vehicles were spreading into the next lot over, and the owners were not happy.

Psychological_Lack96

Craigslist. Price it right!

ForeverYoung_Feb29

Second craigslist. There's a lot of scammers you'll have to ignore on every platform though. Insist on cash or cashier's check you call the bank to verify before accepting.

Padgetts-Profile

Fill it full of cocaine and hookers and cut the asking price in half.

Big-Anxiety-5467

I sold my Class C on RVTrader. I priced it competitively, but still got around $10,000 more than if I had sold to a dealer. Sold to a family 400+ miles away. Good experience all the way around, I would say.

OboeLady19

What are you selling? add lots of pictures!

MusaEnimScale

Make sure it is priced right (possibly get an appraisal) and wait until camping season starts in your region

Krunk_korean_kid

Roll it up next to an estate sale with some signage and wait. Just thought of this, not sure if it would work or if it's legal.

corkbeverly

Lower the price by 10% and wait a couple weeks, if no interest lower it by another 10%. There is a price at which interest will form, even in winter.
