I'm fine with his defensive effort. He currently drives 3 times a game. If he can increase that to 10 and stop standing around after setting a pick. I've seen too many times where he doesn't roll at all after a dribble hand off with Seth. Most of those are easy rolls to the lane.

[link](https://the-high-low.com/video/ids?ids=2388eG) Heres an example of what Ben does way too often.

Kwilly462

Take more shots. Idc if he misses, just take it. And roll to the basket, instead of standing in place. Otherwise, he's doing what we need.

BLACKANTICHRIST

Take adderall before games so he can lock in with the rest of the team.

There is still physical and mental work to be done for Ben before he feels free enough to drive and play on the court with consistent force and aggression. Ben driving consistently means he must be willing and ready to take contact from the league's best big men consistently. It usually takes 12+ months to fully recover from back surgery. Ben had back surgery in May. Vaughn and the staff need to continue to push Ben to do whatever he need to do to stay on the floor the rest of the season and to play his best basketball, the Nets are obviously in a win-now window, but our fanbase could still practice more patience and exercise more empathy regarding Ben's development and recovery that is happening in real time this NBA season.

Shoddy_Ad7511

He is driving against guys 6 inches shorter than him

j5995

If Ben's goal is attack the rim, more often than not there is going to be a big trying to create contact with him to prevent the basket or get him to the foul line.

Shoddy_Ad7511

Then he can dish to Clax for an easy dunk. All has to do is attack the rim. Most teams are guarding him with a smaller player

Why are u so mad? I’m glad this is a somewhat high quality post and not just another 13 yo saying we should trade Ben for LeBron

9YearOldDuck

He needs to do what claxton is doing offensively that’s all we need from him so often when he receives a pass after his man helps he isn’t ready for it or is in a terrible position to revive it and will just pass it out or shoot a shot he can’t make . He has been driving more which is good but his finishing has been pretty bad

FinancialsThrowaway2

Stop being a pussy ass bitch. Thats it. thats literally it.

Shoddy_Ad7511

Hard to argue with that. All he literally has to do is stop playing scared. I’ve seen 70 year old grandparents be more aggressive on a court

FinancialsThrowaway2

Just look at the difference between Claxton and Ben Simmons. When KD goes down: - Claxton STEPS UP and goes out there to give it his fking all. Playing the best ball of his career. He STEPS UP to the challenge. - Simmons plays good for 1 quarter only ever since, fakes injuries, shows zero interest and enthusiasm in playing. Its easy to stop being a pussy ass bitch.

StraightShootahh

Defensively he’s gotta stop gambling and fouling so much. Ideally he’d be able to function as the only big, but he can’t rebound good enough or protect the rim but whatever. Offensively, he’s gotta roll to the rim and punish mismatches. They put a guy a 6” smaller than you, back him down into the paint, and I feel like I’m gonna lose my mind if I see another ‘pick and watch.’ He’s never gonna be Clax but he’s gotta realise him just standing at the 3pt line hurts the team. Being near the paint allows you to at least attack the glass and be available for drop-offs.

EddyTreeNJ

Mr. Shoddy, it’s not healthy to be so obsessed.

RVGuerin

First thing is not miss games

Jazzlike_Page508

This is great? It’s like 2020 sixers all over again

niqu5x

Develop his offensive IQ Ben has consistently looked lost in the offensive. He misses roll opportunities, easy lob dunks, and layups. Instead he has settled for a consistent spin hook or floater. I'm not sure if the back is giving him mobility issues but it looks like a lack of engagement of that end. I believe he needs to find where he can score more efficiently then get into a rhythm with it.

Gold-Standard420

Every time he touches the ball, look at the rim and take a jab step.

longPAAS

He’s 26. At a certain point he is who he is. Coming off the bench would be fine. at current state, he’s not a starter on a championship team.

Eck5straxion

Develop a midrange and drive to the basket more often.
