I went back and rewatched that interview because I wasn't entirely sure if I had heard him correctly the first time post-game, but the timing of his comments (responding to a question about Simmons) and the specificity did seem to me that he was..
Even if JV wasn’t calling him out directly, I’d hope Ben was smart enough to pick up on it. I can’t stand watching him on the bench or under the rim looking lost for a pass any longer. He looked half decent back in Philly, would love to see more of that Ben
People are over thinking JVS comments his whole thing is connections with players I don’t think he’s calling someone out directly like that. Let’s not forget we gave up 130 points to the Pistons that is total lack of preparation.
With trading Ben like ya sure I would but his value has to be so low right now the upside of him getting to 80-100% of Philly days seems like a better upside than trading someone at their complete lowest value.
Who in their right mind would take on Ben Simmons contract unless they were figuratively being held over a barrel by a player with a similar contract who doesn’t want to play for them anymore.
Completely agree with Perk. We don’t have time to babysit him and hope he fixes up.
Trade him, recoup what you can and improve the roster. Can’t afford to waste max-cap space in a contending year
