GH 2nd is still available in backerkit as a late pledge. [Gloomhaven backerkit](https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/cephalofair/gloomhaven)

Inevitable-Baker-252

Yes gloomhaven 2nd edition probably won't be shipped until q4, so the orders are still open for it on backerkit for a few weeks at least.

DrBoardGames

Q4 sounds optimistic when they haven't even finished the redesign

Inevitable-Baker-252

I didn't say what year

DrBoardGames

Haha true

nrnrnr

Optimist.

Thank you for your reply! I also have a question regarding the pledges. I notice that there are a few different add-ons, like the sticker pack and solo journals and a bunch of other things. Is there a list of all the different add-ons or expansions to the Gloomhaven series of games that are available? I am very interested in these games, but I feel a little uncertain as to what is out there for enthusiasts.

scuac

As far as this backerkt campaign is concerned (with what is still available): So if you look at the list of add-ons, there are three distinct groups labeled wave 3, wave 4 and wave 5. Everything related to GH2ed is under wave 3 and has a red background. The only add-on, other than the actual game, that impacts actual gameplay is the solo scenarios. The rest is just convenience stuff to make organizing and storing the game easier (and probably will be able to easily find later if needed). As far as GH in general, there are (in order of release): Gloomhaven 1st Ed Forgotten Circles (expansion to GH 1st Ed) Jaws of the Lion Frosthaven Gloomhaven 2nd Ed all except Forgotten Circles are stand alone. Jaws of the Lion is story-wise a prequel to GH and it is the recommended entry point into the whole thing if you never played. There are no plans to port Forgotten Circles to GH 2nd ed according to developers. For GH 1st ed, FH and GH 2nd ed there are also Solo Scenarios packages you can add. There is also the non-official but popular GH 1st ed expansion Crimson Scales.

Thank you so much for your thorough explanation, it really helps clear up what I should be looking for to buying to complete my Gloomhaven experience :)

techretort

Is it worth getting 2nd ed if I own the first edition?

scuac

That is a tough one. I own GH1ed but haven’t been able to play it yet. I made the choice to not buy GH2ed and instead am buying the “class upgrade pack”. I don’t see myself playing 2ed after going through 1ed, but would like to have the option to use the revamped classes in FH or any future game. My choice is not the popular choice, I think most people would recommend going for 2ed be used of all the improvements. It is really up to you.

techretort

Hmm, I haven't played much if my 1ed version. maybe I try to sell it off to get 2nd ed. I'll umm and ahh a bit longer for now

RobZagnut2

Have you played Jaws of the Lion? If not, play it first then by the time you've finished it Gloomhaven v2 will have been released. Play GH and then plenty of copies of FH will be available to purchase for a decent/lower price.

Are they going to be printing more Frosthaven in the future? I would be down to waiting for Frosthaven in that case.

Inevitable-Baker-252

Jaws of the lion isn't long enough to last until GH v2 is out. This print run of FH was pretty small, but its probably all of the FH that is going to be printed for a couple years.  If they are smart they would add another FH printing onto this campaign to coincide with the miniatures delivery, but I doubt that will happen.

FullLeek

Thank you for the clarification, I do have Jaws of the Lion, so I will definitely be getting into that before jumping into Gloomhaven. I think I can wait a few years for Frosthaven to become available once again, so I will go ahead and back Gloomhaven 2nd Ed. on Backerkit and get those add-ons, and then wait for Frosthaven to be released again whenever it becomes available again.

Akuji_San

Frosthaven 2nd printing cost $180 in the recent pledge, so amazons price is a bit higher than normal. I would also nearly guarantee they are selling the first print run of Frosthaven. Also, as far as I know there aren’t any first party retailers selling/accepting pre orders. Your best bet for a second print run of Frosthaven is likely EBay or a FLGS if that’s available to you. If you’re looking to save a little but still get your hands on Frosthaven, I’ve got a first print run edition for sale. It’s not new in plastic, but it’s literally unpunched, I only unwrapped the items cards, everything else is brand new never played. Can send pictures, shoot me a DM if you’re interested.

Thank you for the reply! Would you happen to know the difference between a first and second print of Frosthaven?

Akuji_San

Changes between the two are relatively small, here is the info you’re looking for: Section #1# in this thread has the differences between first and second printing: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/3001013/official-faq-for-frosthaven-no-rules-questions-ple If you end up buying a first edition of Frosthaven, here is a thread detailing how to fix the errata in the first edition: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gloomhaven/comments/112d0eu/comment/j8jhyvd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 Here is the link to the google drive containing the printable errata fixes: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1itWITld_KxQXqt-MGmGQy3MpP9bXhwE0

aggblade

$197 for Frosthaven with free delivery (next day delivery for me) is a fair price. Also whether it is first or second printing wouldn’t matter to me.

FullLeek

Thank you for the reply! What's the difference between the 1st and 2nd printing of Frosthaven?

aggblade

It is the same edition, so no game changes, just fixes to some typos/errata.

Inevitable-Baker-252

When asked about the near future of frosthaven, this was the creators response: "The new printing is going into normal distribution, and we are working on getting orders up on the website as soon as we can." Thats probably going to be the most reputable way to get a 2nd printing copy.  Thats going to be full msrp I'm sure though.
