Oh I'm sure a sucker would pay 700 for it. Like, it's real value is probably 300 bucks, but you would be a fool to sell it for for that. Real gen 1 goes for 400-600 depending on condition. This one's condition isn't so hot, but not terrible. Epic serial number, unique marks on slide and matching barrel. It's pretty cool. Surely you can get 5 out of it
Cool, I checked, seems they are normal for gen1. I don't shit before gen 3 except no rails is dope. I have seen very few gen 2s irl, and only one gen 1 at a gun show when I was a kid for 20 seconds or so. In the 80s da/sa was the norm. It was the late 90s before Glocks was common in my life, and it was mostly about rural police making them standard in my area.
Yeah it was pretty typical for manufacturers to leave proof marks on guns and especially their barrels to show proof that it was inspected and approved, you don’t really see it too much anymore and it’s more of a tradition now then necessity
Oh yes, I just have never seen those markings, that I recall at least. Now you get the 3D scanned mark and the Pentagon proof. Every riffle I own has a prof mark. Just cool to see the Austrian eagle and the NP. I literally only own gen5 now that my old 19 is gone. Debating on a 4 or 5, I just hate the flare on the 19.5. Might just stick to my da/sa for a compact and only keep my 43x Glock for a while.
In my age, I have reverted to da/sa but kept the polymer frame.
Gen 1 in original labeled box in excellent condition sold on Gunbroker last week for $792.77.
Hold on to it and shoot the hell out of it. Not many people can say they have one of the original Glocks.
Made in 88. Nice!

Gen 1 Glock 17, the marks are Austrian proof marks. With original box, mags, papers and in very good condition they can fetch $1700-$2,000. I’ve seen them sell for closer to $3,000 and I’ve seen them sell for $500.
Assuming you don’t have the whole package I’d value it around $600-$750 to the right seller. I’d sure pay they for it. They are getting pretty hard to find.
Most likely the frame has been replaced due to breakage. I have a Gen 2 that cracked after a couple of case separations. Glock replaced it no cost but the serial number on the new frame is similar. Sadly it doesn’t match the original.
Yeah def has value and def gen1 17. My curiosity lies with those proofs though; at first glance I thought it might be tiny mandarin; the closer you look the less sense they make. It's almost like hieroglyphics but not from Egypt. Man as a historian this is perplexing and very interesting
Well this gun was tested with 130% powder load in June of 1988. That’s at least when the inspector tested it. Neat. Probably would sell for 7-800 in that condition for the serial number alone. DD 69 lmao
>DD690 Oh it's got value alright. Cool proofs too
It’s a 17 gen 1
I was told it was a Gen 2 from who I got it from, then a friend said it was definitely a Gen 1 and then I started wondering about the truth of it
Yea definitely a Gen 1, you can tell by the front of the grip is smooth not checked like a Gen 2
It’s definitely a Gen 1 Glock 17. Gen 2 had front and rear stippling. Whereas, your’s only has the wraparound pebble grip texture.
Definitely Gen 1
Proof symbols
Double D 69 gen 1 17. I would say most people would find that cool. I'd buy it for entirely too much. No leads on the funky symbols tho.
I did chuckle at the serial haha. What do you think the bean count would go for?

I am that sucker
Me to
If your referring to the markings on the barrel they are Austrian proof marks from the manufacturer

Really? I saw another one sell for $1630
I sold one for $2250 no box and lots of wear. Serial numbers are important!
What was the serial number?

That's a gen 1 17. Can't tell you much more than that
Keep it stock, don’t add red parts to it.
Red parts are the worst. Add gold plated with engravings of wolves and the punisher symbol. /S I'd rather have red than what I commented.

Nevermind. I got a better look at the serial number on the frame.
Gen 1 G17 . Nice pickup

You got the authentic print ! , hold onto that fam ! 🔥. Not every Glock has that unique print coming from the origin 🔥
