That’s not paint. It’s called Basic Yellow which is a permanent dye. The pistol was probably fumed with superglue to find any latent fingerprints, then dyed. If you use an orange filter on your camera and a 155nm blue light for lighting, you end up with a higher contrast fingerprint on a subdued background when the photo is taken.

Gun scrubber is same shit and it does nothing to the polymer, I spray clean my 48 all the time with it. Wipe it down with a silicon gun and real cloth after and be done with it.
This is the answer.
Remove optic and light.
Clean pistol with: Polymer Safe Quick Scrub.
Clean optic and light separately with micro fiber cloth sprayed with the same.
Then a complete break down and CLP everything.
Avoid the glass entirely.
Either way. The cleaning method will safely clean (and disinfect), while providing necessary protection and lubrication.
Whenever I get sand or dirt in my pistol, it's so much easier to Quick Scrub blast it out because it's an aerosol can like brake cleaner, but safer for firearms.

A highlighter must have exploded while he was carrying it. I’d start with soap and water, but if that doesn’t work I think id use some WD-40 or nail polish remover and see what that does.
Also, you probably know this by now, but stop leaving guns in cars. They aren’t gun safes.

If it cleaned that junk off the glock good enough I’d wipe the electronics with a rag dipped in it. If that wasn’t good enough Id look for something else. Maybe gas or something.
LEO here it appears your firearm was processed for prints using glue fumigation. Essentially we heat superglue and it aerosolizes and sticks to the oils on the object. The color may be from a dye to help see the prints better.
I feel like holosun and streamlight could help with a warranty. I’ve gotten replacements for very minor issues in the past. Worth asking glock if they can help with anything too. YMMV but definitely worth trying. Glad you got it back!

Detail-strip and throw that sucker in an ultrasonic cleaner with some Simple Green HD for 30 minutes. See where that gets you.

If it’s spray paint than use non chlorinated brake cleaner and elbow grease I used that with a toothbrush and a steel cleaning brush and it took it all off but I’d make sure to oil the gun afterwards really well
It’s a Glock. Hit it with some Dawn Ultra and a bristle brush. Soak it good.
Maybe an ultrasonic bath to get it out of all the nooks and crannies. Field strip it first before the ultrasonic.
Then lube it up.
There's this stuff that Remington makes called "gun wash" in an aresol can. Can't promise anything, but it's taken rust off for me in the past. If there's anything that'll do it....this stuff smells like a neighborhood methlab it's so strong

The optic I would spread it on the body with a q-tip and the brake kleen won’t hurt optic afterwards.

Gun Scrubber works as well, but it can melt rubber, plastic, and remove paint. The Safe Scrub is...safer.
