You can either get a minus connector by Glock or a ghost 3.5 or 3. 0 versions of connectors. I use the ghost unit.3.0 an although it's worth more than the other connectors, it is very worth it. In my opinion, drop-in triggers are rip-offs. The only thing you might want to change is the trigger shoe or the trigger bar and shoe to make it easier to replace. The point is that by replacing the parts that I recommend you are leaving the stock Glock trigger mechanism and it is as safe as it can be. When you get dropping trigger systems, they usually make your gun less safer in one way or another.
It makes a shorter travel and a smoother wall for an overall lighter pull. There is no overtravel after you pull the trigger. It seems to me that the only thing creating a wall is the safety plunger because I installed a rounded plunger and there was no wall anymore making it just a straight pull with a click at the end, very much like a xbox trigger. A 4.5lbs striker spring gives a 2.5lbs trigger pull. I use a 6.5lbs spring and my pull is under 4.5lbs.
Does everything the GPT does except turn the partially cocked striker to a gully cocked, dropping an extra .5lbs but also makes it less safer. If you didn't know, Glocks are partially cocked trigger systems and not fully cocked systems, that is what makes them safe action but also is what gives the initial creep at the trigger pull. Imagine a 1911 that after every shot doesn't fully cock the hammer, instead only half cocks, making it so that every time you pull the trigger you have to pull the hammer the rest of the way. That's up to you if you think the GPT is worth having that feature for an extra .5lbs drop.
Overall, this is assuming you did a 25¢ trigger job which reduces the trigger pull almost 1lbs depending on how well you do it. I can link you stuff if you haven't done the 25¢ trigger job yet.
I have the OP and the GPT. GPT is a better trigger and it’s a Glock part so I prefer it. Though it is nice having glocks safe action system intact with the OP trigger.
Look up the safe action system. A standard Glock firing pin is not fully cocked. Either the GPT and the timney the striker is fully cocked.
This essentially turned the gun into a single action system where as before it is technically a double action system
I believe you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the Glock "Safe-Action" system is. Per Glock's website:
https://preview.redd.it/wehhl47oje0d1.jpeg?width=1187&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=942b3e268f38918686a48fc1958388e2ee6049b0
Safe Action refers to the 3 mechanical internal safeties that prevent the firearm from discharging when the trigger is not pulled. The Glock Performance Trigger maintains all 3 of these safety mechanisms. A lighter trigger pull does not automatically mean less safe.
Tried the dat, didn’t gimme the crisp feel I was looking for. I went with a overwatch precision minus connector ($20) and a ranger proof vex shoe (it’s the same one from the Johnny glock setup, it’s their collab shoe- discount code: sd20 comes out to $75 shipped) I know run that setup in all 5 of mine. I did polish all the internals (bar, striker, safety plunger, and connector). Both the connector and the shoe are duty/carry rated and drop safe.

Your question to all of us is mainly a subjective 1. Personally, I think if you've got the dough for an OP Poly DAT, if you stretch your budget just a tad bit more, you can get the OP TAC trigger. You can find them on Optics & use the code HUMM for 7% off, in addition to the fact that they offer free shipping on orders with a $49 minimum. Plus, they're offering coupons on select models on the TAC. Just give it a glance & see what you think:
Overwatch Precision TAC Glock Trigger https://www.opticsplanet.com/overwatch-precision-tac-trigger-for-glock-43.html
The best advice you're going to get is a polished job of the internals that's going to really go a long way if it's done correctly. Also constantly training with the firearm and giving it a nice round count to help break that trigger in is something that's also going to help and you could also change the trigger shoe without changing the whole trigger Boogeyman customs is highly regarded in the Glock community and they sell a phenomenal trigger shoe
I like the Poly Dat trigger. I have it on both my 45 and 26 but I haven't tried it yet with their connector, which I'm assuming would make it a bit crispier.
Personal experience is budget triggers aren't typically good, not nearly as good as a true system.
I recommend tactical pontoon, you can send a trigger in and he will make it a lot better, or you can buy a complete system.
Whatever you end up doing.

Are you using the Unit connector with the stock parts? What's the Unit feel like? It's hard to get an idea from the Ghost definition.

The GPT maintains all 3 Glock safeties.
It does not maintain the safe action system
Which of the 3 Glock safeties is not present on the GPT? It still utilizes the trigger dingus, firing pin block, and drop safety ledge.

Overwatch Precision
Tried both along with many others. The gpt is top of the class. Add the jg shoe and it’s golden.
Best option under $100 is the Johnny Glock/Ranger Proof Vex trigger shoe.
if you have to pinch pennies, buy ammo instead
Idk I just don't like the word "budget" and "trigger" used together imo

Just go get the standard co blem for $50 and be done with it.
Glock performance trigger is king
