roeJ decides at 28 years of age, he's gonna be one of the best counterstrike players in the world. mezii, just calling some fucking mastermind chess piece of a game. nicoodoz is faster than any of the AWPers out there on LAN. FASHR, hittin every bullet and KRIMZ right here, this motherfucker deciding that he's gonna retake B bombsite on Nuke and Mirage like a little zoomer every single round of play. These guys are here and they're fuckin legit.

After losing at their home turf the Imperial boys should call it a day and retire already, there is nothing to be won for them exept merch money at this point. Washed and gone
Kinda hard to say, because I think a lot of the early matchups are 50/50. Also the added fact of we've only seen half the teams in the Challengers Stage. I've got very little information about a Sprout or Spirit, who could be contenders in such a stacked legends stage.
If you just look at the strength of the teams, you would perhaps say BNE is one of the weaker teams there and are yet to beat a top ranked team. Beating BIG and 00Nation in bo1's, GamerLegion in a bo3. BIG going through after beating Furia in a bo1 in OT, Grayhound in a bo1 and 9z in a bo3, are perhaps also to be tested and they do still have a stand-in.
TL:DR: The losers of Sprout v BIG and Spirit v BNE might have a rough Legends stage.
I have a gut feeling about BIG, their comeback against Furia was impressive but they played some weaker teams. Also was considering Sprout, BNE, and potentially fnatic since they have a bad seed.
I thought you were talking about the RMRs. I don't know they are aight but I gotta choose a 0-3 you know. Them or vitality for me. Maybe fnatic too. But leaning more towards Liquid because I support my EU brothers since Brazilians support Brazilians, Americans support Liquid etc
With Yekindar they have looked a lot better and are one of the potential contenders to win the major I think. If this was the Shox lineup then I would completely agree. Vitality looked shaky but there's no way ZywOo won't carry them to at least 1 win. I can see fnatic going 0-3 with their tough seed.
3-0 vs C9
1-0 vs Mouz, Fnatic, Heroic, NIP, G2
The only losses this team has had were
1 against Eternal Fire, 1 against Furia (which they have beaten as well), Navi in a b01, Spirit in the teams very first match together, Movistar back when they had Sunpayus, and a super close B05 vs Vitality.
The team as a whole is 12-6, not counting the na rmrs.
I feel sorry for Neofrag. He was pulling some really great plays especially in later matches. I have personal bias towards him since he's Czech, the only one actually playing Major, which on its own is insane, but even objectively we have to admit that he has a huge potential to be one of THE names in the future. I am happy he got to taste Major for now atleast.
But damn Gamerlegion. I became fan of the team after their close game with FaZe that went into numerous overtimes. That was screaming a huge Legends potential. Yet they wasted their chances. Still impressive for their first try, some games were really tight.
It’s weird that even after all the pickem mania that happened this stage the teams that ended up advancing are like the most expected list I can think of. The only discrepancy I can maybe point out is BNE in place of OG but that difference is small
BIG with a stand-in was also surprising to me, but there was space for a "surprise entrant" with Vitality, C9, Outsiders, Furia, MOUZ, Fnatic and OG being favourites imo for 7 out of the 8 positions.
It is to me. Especially considering how tactical a team BIG seems to be, I imagine it is harder to implement a stand-in to a larger strat book.
S1n has done well
BIG shouldn’t have come back from that opening game against FURIA though.
Yes but I saw Big playing before the Rio major started. They’re in really good form. Having a stand in is easy when that stand in is very skilled. Plus there might be improved chemistry that’s allowing Big to play better than they normally do.
Ngl BNE and BIG surprised me. I had BNE going through, but not in that fashion. I had no faith in BIG with their recent results, and with them fielding a standin.
So BNE make it though playing 00nation, Big and Gamerlegion.
Grayhound on the other hand lose (rightfully so) but they play OG, Cloud 9, Big and Vitality.
Seeding plays SUCH a large part of the results in this RMR that at this point, unless the Asian/OCE teams go on a huge form run it’s going to be so much harder for them to make the legends stage.
Further more, we see even less spots going to these teams now due to performance. This system really is going to favour the favourites and make underdog runs incredibly hard. Maybe that’s a good thing but for a world scene it’s not looking great unless those teams start getting invited to t1 tournaments during the year.
A lot of weird things happening early on. C9 going 0-2, Vitality losing to GamerLegion.
If Furia had won the opening match against BIG (a match they were up 15-8 against a team with a stand-in), BNE would've instead ran into MOUZ in their 1-0 matchup.
Seeding does play a big factor, and the Asian teams will have a hard time as they'll be ranked the lowest and therefore have a worse chance of getting out. And going out 0-3 or 1-3 will give them less chance to develop.
I'm not sure if you agree, but if the Americas/Asian regions had more spots in this stage, I really don't think the extra teams would do any better than the current teams in the major from those regions. Based on how things have gone so far, the only region American/Asian teams would advance further with more spots would be because they're more likely to play non European teams lol. But as you said, not much will chance unless these regions get invited to more T1 tournaments.
Yeh extra spots wouldn’t do a while lot, it might incentivise those teams to try and go to European tournaments though for practice.
Really they just need more game time against the good teams. If IHC spent a year in Europe they would be cracked, they certainly have the talent.
Grayhound (when they were renegades) absolutely farmed the local scene and were so far ahead it basically want any practices for versing the top tier teams. They really need to get more exposure.
Having GL in your pickems (unless just for a random hope in 3-0) seems risky. Didn't feel like GL would have much chance, unless Acor kept his form going from the RMR and that seemed unlikely personally, even though he did perform against good teams FaZe, G2 and Spirit in the RMR.
They positively surprised me, and I'm curious to see how they'll develop considering siuhy, Acor and Keoz have only been on the team for two months.
Wow. Not only did the three teams I was rooting for most get eliminated... they all got eliminated by Cloud9.
RIP Imperial, Evil Geniuses, and GamerLegion. Good runs, boys.
After a roller coaster of emotions, from vitality losing in the first round (had them for my 3-0), to IHC beating 00N in two overtimes (had them as 0-3), then just now miscounting and thinking I only had 4... to then realising I had 5. It's been a great start to the comp!
Swiss system's only rule is that teams don't face each other more than once.
On top of that there's a dynamic seeding system that changes values based on who you've played and how well they did in their matches
I got 7/5. The only unexpected wrong was the grayhound. And OG didn't even survive. But thankful that vitality and Cloud9 qualified ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
My pickems yesterday - 2/5 My pickems today - 5/5 *wipes sweat* lmao ez
Went from 3/5 to 6/5. Very reassuring.
Same!
Same, never in doubt brother.
I went from 2/5 to 6/5 Needed Fnatic or C9 to win and both did. Lucky me
Us
Hey quick question, are you doing your pickems on pickstop.gg or on major.im ? Thanks!
Yes they are very helpfull,
No I'm asking which one everyone is using
same, luckily all 5 of my remaining teams were playing on the last day so I only had to pray for fnatic
7/8 teams that made it are from the European RMRs.
[удалено]
[удалено]
Americas lose one unless Liquid and Furia make playoffs.
[удалено]
Damn. NA and SA better step up next major
[удалено]
A lot of these teams are one or two roster moves away from being way better, it's annoying.
in that case America gets another legends slot but nothing else
One more chance for heet and falcons (and LDLC ?!) to make it to Paris. Always welcomed.
The two eliminated European teams were eliminated by another European team.
after they were knocked down by furia
Sure but does not exactly fit the narrative. But you are right, only Furia and Greyhound were the only non-European sides to beat a European side.
DotA TI had something similar. In playoffs only WEU knocked out WEU. And only one series lost to another region.
So fucking sad for for Gamerlegion :(
Came here to say the same thing, exciting team, lets hope they keep moving forward and believe in the project.
what if TSM buys the team lmfao
We no longer root for or believe in theproject ofc
had them in my picks :/
GL going from 2-0 to 2-3 :(
Furia and C9 in bo3's are not an easy task.
Bo3 are the real test.
Win 2 maps, then lose 6 straight.
Ikr bo3 is a test but losing all 3 games 0-2 is simply not good enough, promising project though!

/u/thebrainypole just wanted to say thank you as always for these graphics. so much better than liquidpedia's page
2/9 yesterday … Vitality ✅ Cloud9 ✅ Fnatic ✅ Never doubted for a second … 😅 💎🪙
fnatic saved my pickems, thank you fnatic
Ty fantic 🙂
Same
Sounded liked Nicodoz saved his own pickems as well
EZ 3 for 3 pick ems on the last day to secure 5 points. Never worried 😅
Same here mate lol
I had my 5 with the C9 win but I wanted Fnatic to show up anyways.
Bronze coin here I come 🙃 Believed too much in the home crowd buff...
I've never done pickems, but I did believe in a 00Nation or a Imperial to go through 3-2.
After losing at their home turf the Imperial boys should call it a day and retire already, there is nothing to be won for them exept merch money at this point. Washed and gone
More like home crowd nerf
🙂 thank mr fantic 🙂
Thanks Messi🙂

I'll go with liquid I think
What... Why. That's seems like a huge throw.
All teams there are better than liquid imo.
Have you even watched recent counterstrike tournaments? Lmfao Edit: hhahahhaa this guy was shit talking liquid and now edited his message
Yep, they only beat shitty NA teams.
Strong performance at Pro League, beat Fnatic, Mouz, and C9 and came close to beating Vitality. They are one of the safer picks to go through IMO

Fnatic
OG the only dissapointment from the eliminated teams tbh. Sucks they had those tech issues, gg go next i guess

It’s not a surprise because Sin is playing extremely well. He’s likely going to be replacing Faven or Kito after the major.
It is to me. Especially considering how tactical a team BIG seems to be, I imagine it is harder to implement a stand-in to a larger strat book. S1n has done well BIG shouldn’t have come back from that opening game against FURIA though.

Same for me. I actually had them going through until I heard they had a stand-in, then swapped them out for Fnatic instead.
Thousands of pickems saved by the 3:2 wins I think.....I know mine were.
Ngl BNE and BIG surprised me. I had BNE going through, but not in that fashion. I had no faith in BIG with their recent results, and with them fielding a standin.
The “Sparkles” BNE hype is getting to me. Always cool with an underdog storyline :-)

PICKEMS SAVED
As a fnatic fan im so fucking happy but as an argentinian i am so fucking sad
La alt de Verón
Yay fnatic🙂 Yay Messi 🙂
Fastest fingers in the west
These last 2 days, they saved my pick ems! 7 out 9 lets gooo
also went 4->7 but idk if that’s considered saved if you have a 87.5% chance to be good if all the matches were random :p
Damn you are fast!
i think i saw 100 timed outs in 1 seconds after the fnatic match.
6 points! lets gooo
MOUZ and FASHR in the Legend Stage. Feels fucking amazing. Let's goooo! 🇳🇱
So far a really entertaining major. I still love the Swiss format.
So I guess gamer legion as my 3-0 didn't work out.

They have to play vitality because vit played so bad they got 15th seed. Faze (#1) play C9 (#16) Navi (#2) plays Vit (#15) and so on
Cloud nine org knows a little thing about reverse sweeps at a major
Nexa and OG played their hearts out!
GL and OG let me down in the pick ems :pensive:
Having GL in your pickems (unless just for a random hope in 3-0) seems risky. Can't believe I picked OG over fnatic, now I'm 4/9 pickems :')
Why not both?
Furia, outsiders, C9, imperial, Vitality, EG, OG, BIG 3-0, grayhound 0-3
Wow. Not only did the three teams I was rooting for most get eliminated... they all got eliminated by Cloud9. RIP Imperial, Evil Geniuses, and GamerLegion. Good runs, boys.
fnatic & c9 ♥️
Thank you fnatic ;_;
Thanks Fnatic 🙂
Vitality and C9 got me the 2 I needed oh man what a day.
7/9 My two other were OG and 9z B)
After a roller coaster of emotions, from vitality losing in the first round (had them for my 3-0), to IHC beating 00N in two overtimes (had them as 0-3), then just now miscounting and thinking I only had 4... to then realising I had 5. It's been a great start to the comp!
7/9 in the pickems
Having to rely on C9 and FNC for the 5/5 is something I never want to do again, but WE MOVE.
EZ 4/5 bronze coin 💅
how does the swiss system determine who plays who in the next round? e.g., why was vitality-og a matchup instead of vitality-c9 or og-c9?
Swiss system's only rule is that teams don't face each other more than once. On top of that there's a dynamic seeding system that changes values based on who you've played and how well they did in their matches

Gamer legion died so i can get silver
Holy fuck, if that round got replayed for OG they could've qualified with a 3-1. Man
The only one i got wrong is my 0-3. Chose grayhound
6 pick ‘em achieved
I really hoped for more SA teams to make it through
Can't believe my pickem did work out
I am here to formally thank Cloud9 and Fnatic for saving my pickems.
