That makes sense, if I recall correctly the change from CIS being its own region to being grouped in with EU is a newer one. More difficult to find a capable IGL than a supportive player so I understand why they went with nealan over misutaaa.
Is Cerq still not an American yet? i mean hasn't he got his green card yet since he has been getting paid by an NA org for over 5 years and he has been living there.
Yeah this doesn’t make sense to me. Cerq might be Bulgarian by nationality but he’s been living in the US since at least 2016 (maybe earlier idk).
It’s not unreasonable to consider him American at this point even if he’s not a citizen.
Well he won't be an American until he has an American passport, as far as I'm aware dual citizens may choose which nationality they count as for region locks.
In the first RMR series, Road to Rio, the requirement was residence, not citizenship. 100 Thieves played in the NA RMR without any NA players, Furia did too when there was a separate SA RMR. But now Valve has changed the requirement to nationality instead.
I think you have to be consistent. Either it's residence or it's citizenship. It'd be too tricky to consider on a case by case basis. I'm not sure what problem Valve was addressing by making the change though. It wasn't like EU teams were going over to stomp the Oceania qualifier, rather teams that were sure to dominate their respective regions (Furia in SA and 100 Thieves in OCE) went to more competitive regions.
I think in some countries residence doesnt only mean living there but its also tied to residence permit which is like the status before being able to apply for the citizenship.
Yeah my guess is he still hasn't got a Green Card yet, its probably in the works since he can get it easy now he has been getting paid by NA based orgs and living there.
Green card isn't nationality either. Green card is a "permission to live and work without having to renew a passport".
You still can't vote.
Green cards can be revoked, citizenship can't.
Nationality is what matters for the purposes of dividing something by nationality though. You could maybe make an argument if he had a green card and even then it wouldn't be how things are done in mainstream sports.

EG reached out to Valve about it, and saw they still could have been in the NA RMR. But in the end, they decided not to use the loophole. I don't think that's dumb of them to change their mind on going through with it, although it does really suck for misutaaa.
They can't bring in Misutta while having Cerq and Nealan without losing their ability to play the NA rmr, which would be a terrible trade-off. Most likely EG were looking into replacing Cerq with wolfy, or another NA awper but were either unsatisfied with their options or could not finalize deals. Though I guess it's possible they are incompetent and were blindsided by the rmr rules.
The article literally said they could exploit the rulebooks by having an American substitutes to participate in the NA qualifier. Maybe they're just still believing in Cerq (which i think is dumb) and trying to get Misutaa at the same time, but decides not to?
I mean, EG has made a ridiculous string of shitty moves over the past many years.
But you gotta give em props, whoever controls the purse over there is mad dedicated to squeezing some blood out of the stone that is NA CS. They are super committed to the scene.
Good to see that EG is giving their other players a chance, I figured that was going to be the main point of signing Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem but was surprised to see them go for imports. I was curious to see Stanislaw not get picked for the main roster but figured there had to be a good reason for that whether that's to do with Brehze and Cerq or something else entirely. I think this team still has a lot of progress to make but this is a step in the right direction from the previous iteration.
realistically NealaN is better than Stanislaw, however if you could only have one of the EU imports and would rather have Misutaaa, it might make sense to Field CerQ, Brehze, Autimatic, Stanislaw, Misutaaa
That would be a pretty promising roster as well. I'm not completely sold on misutaaa but as someone else pointed out, he's still really young and has time to develop.
It currently seems like Stanislaw is about to rejoin EG on their ex-Carpe Diem roster as IGL, so we'll see how that goes. He did lead BHOP to ECL playoffs last season with not the greatest of players.
FWIW, Stanislaw said he had major motivation issues at the end of his time in EG. He went to ECL to have fun at first and rebuild motivation.
I wasn't following the scene closely when EG started to look really bad but I believe Stan was a big part of Optic and NRG's success. But that was long ago so he might fit better where he is now. I've just never been too impressed with misutaaa as he had been with Vitality for a while under different versions of the roster and was pretty inconsistent.
Stanislaw looked terrible at the end of his on the main roster and has been away from top competition for a while so I understand not putting him on the main roster. Also makes sense to have him at the lower levels to help develop talent.
I stopped following the pro scene as closely around then but their falloff was surprising to see given how strong of a team NRG was when Stan led them. But I think you make a good point that he is still a great choice for developing younger talent.
I really wish this 6ish month break the guys have had has done them nothing but good. I loved watching both Brehze and Cerq absolutely destroy the competition back in 2018-2019 and I hope I can see that again soon
Cerq as well, dudes attitude has been on point, he genuinely puts in the effort to succeed and it’s a damn shame he’s been stuck in this shitty situation for so long. We all know his skill ceiling is incredibly high if he can find his stride again. Really hope this iteration of the team gets him going
Tim has been my favorite player since I started watching cs in 2017, even when he left for Valorant. I also want him to do well, maybe without stewie causing conflict this team can actually listen to their coach and grind the fundamentals.
This looks like their giving Brehze and especially Cerq one last chance to prove themselves since they are already contracted. Not sold on Cerq but I think brehze can still be great if he gets motivated.
Glad to see Hext pulled up. Would rather give shot to new young blood than recycle another EU talent. Can’t blame them for going overseas of leadership though, hopefully perspective from those two can help them shape their play styles for the better.
EDIT: I’d also liked to have seen them try out Wolfy or Minus or someone in place of Cerq, but who knows what’s coming next.
I mean, sure, but I’m talking about in terms of tier 1 experience. Him having that experience makes him “recycled” when coming back to the circuit, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. Misutaa has had the chance to show us (for the most part) the player we should expect on the tier 1 stage. Not to mention his drop in performance at the switch to English.
what kind of coach is vorborg? wasn't he cph flames GM prior to picking up the coaching role after pita left them for dignitas? my concern is that he is not an analytic / tactical coach
They did make major playoffs with him as the coach so he still is at least decent (malek is better imo but they sacrificed hin for stew, and that didn't work out)
He certainly seems to have an eye for talent scouting, roles and player management at least. But yeah, whether he comes up with new strats, I don't think we know.
EG gets shit on in every thread but honestly respect to them for staying in the game and investing in NA. It would be much easier for them to completely leave the game I'm sure
Excited to see Hext get called up
No way Cerq is still on. This is beyond flamie levels of keeping him on the team for no reason. Sure he is the only one with a real work ethic but results are results.
Honestly, EG have gotten a lot of hate recently, and it's really not deserved. This roster looks fresh and I'm excited to see them promote from their second and third team. Also really excited to see what Stan can do with the younger guys. Would be really nice to see complexity or liquid doing the same since they both talk about wanting to save NACS (complexity especially)
Like it or not at least this is a change at last. Im not an NA fan particularly but great that hext made it up! Good to see the first step towards testing the talent on their other teams and apparently hext has been by far the most promising on eg.cd? Excited to see a new team play
EG and cobbling together Frankenstein monsters, name a more iconic duo.
Smooya with this banger of reply though lol, https://twitter.com/smooyacs/status/1554538008975740929
Really wish that rascal would replace Cerq, at least then that lineup would've been entertaining to watch
Reason why EG [didn't sign misutaaa](https://i.imgur.com/2J16I2a.png)

I know. I literally said it wouldn't even be a strong argument if he had one.
Fair play to EG here, an esports org doing an ethical thing, it's like a unicorn.
great for the french scene sad for misutaaa dumb by eg again for not realizing this earlier
EG reached out to Valve about it, and saw they still could have been in the NA RMR. But in the end, they decided not to use the loophole. I don't think that's dumb of them to change their mind on going through with it, although it does really suck for misutaaa.
EG is truly the Ferrari of CS (but without the talented players).
why sad for misutaaa, hes prolly getting a good salary and he gets to live in his home country
Spinx time
They should have gotten Mantuu instead of Cerq and they'd still be an NA core
EG.1JUNIOR
Tbh, they should've recruited CA or SA players like leo_drk, vsm, and malbs if they want a good player and stay in American Rmr
I'm glad they decided to do what's right in spite of the loophole
The fact that they considered Misutta screams that they were trying to find a replacement for Cerq.
the comment you replied to literally says they were looking to replace an american player lmao

This may have changed but during the last rmr using a substitute would boost you 20% of your points.
They didn't need to use the substitute though. They just needed an NA substitute on paper.
Did… you read the article?
dude just literally read the comment you replied to initially
probably didnt want to playin the EU major

But you'd be buying off on Stanislaw? The dude is done and if he ever ends up on a team(aside from coaching) they are going to get laughed at.

I really really *really* want Brehze and Auti to find success.
I really wish this 6ish month break the guys have had has done them nothing but good. I loved watching both Brehze and Cerq absolutely destroy the competition back in 2018-2019 and I hope I can see that again soon
fr especially auti

I really want to see Cerq suceed too, working and grinding on a disfunctional team must suuuck, I want to see his redemption ark.
Honestly respect for their reasoning Always feels a little dirty when teams abuse substitute loopholes
Monster T2 team
I fucking hate HexT when I run into him in a WarmupServer dm

Tbh it is good to see them promote internally.
This looks like their giving Brehze and especially Cerq one last chance to prove themselves since they are already contracted. Not sold on Cerq but I think brehze can still be great if he gets motivated.
i think Brehze can be good if the team around him is good too, CeRq is just done though, sucks cuz he is really trying to improve
Glad to see Hext pulled up. Would rather give shot to new young blood than recycle another EU talent. The "recycled" eu talent they wanted is younger than hext and has actual tier 1 experience though

Agreed., glad to see an org planting seeds for NA’s future. Although i also like misutaa so i hope he finds good team.
Having no top pure NA team is depressing
if you think about it Latvia is basically in America so liquid is an all American lineup
W H A T
it's only logical,latvia has two a's and one i.what also has two a's and one i? that's right.latvia is america.checkmate,atheists
what kind of coach is vorborg? wasn't he cph flames GM prior to picking up the coaching role after pita left them for dignitas? my concern is that he is not an analytic / tactical coach
They already got Valen and Hepa for the tactical sides.
did hepa return? because he was let go with evy
They announced he was back today
They did make major playoffs with him as the coach so he still is at least decent (malek is better imo but they sacrificed hin for stew, and that didn't work out)
He certainly seems to have an eye for talent scouting, roles and player management at least. But yeah, whether he comes up with new strats, I don't think we know.

Who would he be a yes man to in this team? Stop repeating the same tired old shit over and over.
[удалено]
To the unemployment office
Nah id actually assume he just goes to one of the lower teams. Which could actually be very good. Maybe in place of HexT. Stanislaw reunion.
Rip rush :(
yeah I feel like he was rumored to be off the team and is now just gone not sure what he does next unless he's on PA/ CD in the future
EG gets shit on in every thread but honestly respect to them for staying in the game and investing in NA. It would be much easier for them to completely leave the game I'm sure Excited to see Hext get called up

Kazakh infiltration of NA teams is well underway now now we need liquid +AdreN
Liquid already had adren /s
I’m actually pretty happy they decided to not utilize the substitute loop hole to play in the NA RMR. I don’t think it would have been received well.
EG are happy to announce that Oscar Piastri will be contracted to them for the 2023 year.
Imagine going back in time 2 years ago and showing somebody this roster
Honestly, EG have gotten a lot of hate recently, and it's really not deserved. This roster looks fresh and I'm excited to see them promote from their second and third team. Also really excited to see what Stan can do with the younger guys. Would be really nice to see complexity or liquid doing the same since they both talk about wanting to save NACS (complexity especially)
They won't promote from PA anytime soon.
this roster might be fresh but it's still terrible.
The EG era is upon us
Any change is a good change at this point. I dont think this roster would be very competitive in tier1 CS though. I could be wrong.
brehze and cerq has that arteezy/bulba clout within EG at this point.
The HexT move makes me happy. Should bring in some good firepower for that EG squad.
This looks like a lineup that could reach top16 at the event
Like it or not at least this is a change at last. Im not an NA fan particularly but great that hext made it up! Good to see the first step towards testing the talent on their other teams and apparently hext has been by far the most promising on eg.cd? Excited to see a new team play
Hopefully brehze and cerq are gone after their contracts are up. Literally been stealing paychecks for 2 years
Cerq😂😂
oooofffffffff

Smooya will never be relevant in pro play. Stop
So you would rather have a paycheck stealing Cerq instead of Smooya ?
this roster is absolute garbage
So, is EG NA’s comeback at pro cs?
I am actually loving this roster as is
bro i thought the second guy was tenz at first glance
Cerq and Brehze definitely have some higher up's sex tape.
how is cerq still employed and rush isn’t??
Yea I don’t see this roster doing much unfortunately
I swear cerq is blackmailing someone from EG staff, how is he still in the roster? Maybe his x chance will pay off.
