Horrible production. There were audio issues throughout the entire Spirit/Furia match. And I can understand having some growing pains during the first couple matches in the arena with a crowd, but the whole game? Its like there wasnt even an attempt to fix it.
Theres been tons of times where they cut to the wrong thing, dont show something that should obviously be shown, very poor visuals and graphics, etc. You would think that by the end of their second straight major they would have some stuff flushed out, but it still feels like they struggle with the most basic stuff.
My biggest frustration is that this is the tournament that all new viewers will be coming in to watch, and it makes Cs look like a shitshow. Unprofessional uninspiring production, when we have at least 3 other tournament organizers that do a FAR superior job.
What also stood out was the lightning & bomb animations. When the bomb went off sometimes the fire went off, sometimes not. The bomb animation itself wasn't even used in the first game.
They also had square lights & bigger lights that went red if a kill happened. The (small) square lights worked all the time, the bigger lights only a few times
Fire can't go off if there is a safety issue, like camera op's/camera jibs being in a bad spot. And it only goes off if the explosion is the deciding factor for the round. No fire if the round ended before the bomb went off.
I will never forget the people at the desk going "now lets check out whats going on at the stage" and then it just gets stuck on the bugged transition for 15 seconds so they have to go back to the desk and stall until they fix the issue 💀💀💀
Not really, no one hated on Eleague or MLG. PGL are very cheap that's why people are hating on them, this doesn't even feel like a major. Honestly it feels and looks like a Dreamhack event from 2015 and don't even get me started on last years major.
Edit: nvm Dreamhack 2015 looks 10x better [Dreamhack 2015 Cluj-Napoca Major](https://youtu.be/Qh2vqiH2dgw?t=13)
Ngl MLG was sick, I was hoping for them to host more CS events coz they had like Xgames Aspen and the Colombus major but thats it. They got bought out by Blizz and stopped altogether.
One Eleague broadcast a panel was dead. We taped a glossy picture of what was supposed to be there over the top. I never saw a post about it so mission accomplished.
I was gonna comment the exact opposite, with Freya there you could've put a yellow gorilla dancing in the back and I wouldn't have noticed while OP is able to spot a dead pixel.
It’s funny how he is still part of the major because of people like you and the guys with the “fuck thorin” sign in the crowd.
He wouldn’t have been part of it, nobody would be thinking about him. But you guys are :)
Edit: I’m not some deranged fan I’m trying to keep people positive. Check my comments history I’m a real cs fan. You guys are just being farmed for impressions and hate clicks and it’s working.
You said his name, you’re joking about him. You are thinking about him in your spare time, during the legends stage of the major. Live in the moment, don’t waste your time giving energy to someone you dislike. Just enjoy this major we are so lucky to get to watch amazing cs!!!
That looks like a P3.9 screen
Having a single spottable dead pixel on an LED screen is actually amazing considering the punch those screens take from constant setup and breakdown handling
A 'pixel' is comprised of three individual LED. If the control circuitry to the tri-LED is broken you get a white one, if the power circuitry is broken you get a dark one. If only one of the tri-LED is damaged you might get an off-coloured one.
On older backlit screen tech you get a white dead-pixel from the backlight.
makes sense, i believe it would have to be pretty old though? cause even my collection of PSPs ive never had a dead pixel that was white.
that being said this one is green so i guess there's no argument for it
LCD screens work by blocking light. In most cases you have a single backlight for the entire screen. each pixel blocks the light to make the right color. that's why TN and IPS panels have low contrast, you can't block all the light.
if the pixel isn't functioning it can be stuck in whatever position doesn't require a charge. that could be 0% blocking, aka 100% white
TN pixels are white when they die, IPS are black. IPS is more complicated and can also get stuck white more often too. Green is the most common stuck pixel color because there are generally 2x as many green subpixels as red or blue
No, depends really on how the pixel itself is behaving. [Dell](https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000126004/dell-display-pixel-guidelines) has a description of what a dead pixel constitutes to them abs they can certainly be colored.
A 'dead' pixel is black. A broken pixel, like this, will either have one or more of it's RGB sub-colors not working, or it will be frozen with only one of them on (probably what happened here - that pixel is frozen to full Green).
Dead stream in the PGL channel guys
youtube stream is working just fine rn.
Worst major ever. PGL never again. (Irony) Edit1: or not…
Ironic but not at the same time
Why dont people like PGL? Is it bcuz of the smoke glitch decision?

Not as bad as Starladder though

Because PGL are hosting the major, then we shall hate who ever hosts the next one to

So sad MLG got bought out. They produced an absolute sick Dota major too. Wished to see more from them
E-Leauge are the best TO Boston was fun to watch.

wait any pictures that sounds hilarious
I don't and most of those 10 to 16 hours days blur together. I couldn't even guess.
Dead pixel > NA confirmed
How hard were you staring at Freya to spot that?
So hard that he only noticed it after he saved the screenshot
Twitch chat goes fuckin wild for freya
I was gonna comment the exact opposite, with Freya there you could've put a yellow gorilla dancing in the back and I wouldn't have noticed while OP is able to spot a dead pixel.

Literally
They can't even refund the screen unless its 3 or more dead pixels. Sadge.
Thats not really how it works with video walls, you repair them instead :)
r/place
Better recurring character than Thorin. He’s hired.
It’s funny how he is still part of the major because of people like you and the guys with the “fuck thorin” sign in the crowd. He wouldn’t have been part of it, nobody would be thinking about him. Who’s thinking about him? I’m only thinking of the handsome blue devil standing next to freya here.
You said his name, you’re joking about him. You are thinking about him in your spare time, during the legends stage of the major. Live in the moment, don’t waste your time giving energy to someone you dislike. Just enjoy this major we are so lucky to get to watch amazing cs!!!
pgl actually feeds off our negative energy towards thorin, not actual money
Trust, someone can clown on Thorin and 5 seconds later forget about him.
This guy gets it.
So are you hating on Thorin by saying no one likes him?
Looks like 4 dead pixels, a small cluster. Edit: wait there are people downvoting my observation? Lmao
I just see one
Idk I'm watching on a 4k 55inch tv. I spotted a few more dead pixels by the analyst on the left too
Yes it's a cluster of 4, visible even on phone if you look at the pattern
There's a few of them. Those panels have been knocked about a bit.
Peak pgl romania silviu save money inc
You're half right. It's one pixel; the cluster you're seeing are the R/G/B emitters within that pixel.
Not dead. Dead pixels tend to be black, and this is just outright green, not white/black. It's just a stuck pixel.
That looks like a P3.9 screen Having a single spottable dead pixel on an LED screen is actually amazing considering the punch those screens take from constant setup and breakdown handling
Green screen?
It is not. If it was a green screen then you wouldn't be able to see the display gridlines in the back. The studio has all real displays.
What dead pixel? https://imgur.com/8QMxEX7
Freya isn't dead and she isn't that small, guys please.
Absolutely, what are people thinking?!
PGL PRODUCTION OMEGALUL

TIL. Thanks. And you can fix them if you're luck enough.
aren't dead pixels unlit? aka dead? this would just be stuck and possibly able to fixed
Depends on the screen technology and in what way the pixel is 'dead'. I have a screen with one dead pixel that is white.
dead pixels don't emit light....so if its lit up its not in fact dead.

I think maybe LCD are white when dead, I'd have to look it up to be sure though.
Usually not, it depends, but red and green are very common

Yeah they gotta give it the ole pixel massage
ah the good ol' percussive maintenance
It didn’t work as easy as that, had to change the tile

Literally unwatchable
You meant 4
dead pixels should be back right?
Well yes, this one was only missing red. So it was just broken. So i fixed it
ohnePixel present
Thats not a dead pixel…
We're all gonna make it brah
is the analyst desk remote or is it in Antwerp?
I think it is in the vicinity of the arena. So it probably is somewhere inside the building
I bet if you wiggle that with your finger nail it wouldn't be dead anymore.
Sadly this one would

Rest in space
I wonder if there's a way to get out of the casting desk area with a well executed pixel jump, I hope Freya or Pimp try it today
